Step 2 Work on 1 1.Play the recording for the students.Ask the students to listen and repeat the words in the chart. 2.Play a short video about how to pronounce /æ/，/e/，/ɪ/，/ɒ/，/ʌ/.Let the students notice the mouth shapes. 3.Ask some students to read the words.Give praise to those whose pronunciation and intonation are both excellent.Correct wrong pronunciation.Then read the words together.
