Did you dream of going on a road trip around the world? It can be interesting and exciting, but it comes with some challenges. One of them is making sure you know and follow the different driving rules in different countries. Let’s take a look at some driving rules all over the world.
The age to get a driver’s license (驾驶执照) is different in many countries. The youngest driving age in most countries is eighteen, such as in China and Japan. However, people can learn to drive and get a license as early as sixteen years old in the US and Canada. But for safety, the new young drivers in the US must be with an adult (成年人) when they are driving.
Driving on the right or left side of the road is also different. In Britain and Malaysia, people drive on the left. But people must drive on the right in the US, France and Canada. One country can have different driving rules. In China, people in Hong Kong drive on the left, and drivers in other cities drive on the right.
But there’s a driving rule that’s the same everywhere: you’re not allowed to hold your phone while driving because it’s dangerous.
13. What does the underlined word “challenges” mean in Paragraph 1?
A Changes. B. Problems. C. Differences. D. Voices.

Now, there are more and more food deliverymen (外卖送餐员) around us. They wear blue, red or yellow clothes and they often drive a motorbike. And most of them are always in a hurry.
Some of them often break traffic (交通) rules. They drive fast on the road and run red lights. Some even make calls when driving. In 2021, the food deliverymen had 176 traffic accidents (事故) in Shanghai according to Xinhua Newspaper. That means every two and a half days, someone gets hurt on the road.
Why are they always in such a hurry and some even put themselves in such danger? Many food delivery companies (公司) have strict rules for them. For example, many companies will fine (罚款) a deliveryman if he can’t deliver an order on time or gets bad reviews (评价) from the customers. Also, many of them wish to take more orders and make more money.
People believe food delivery service companies need to do something. Shanghai asks companies to teach their deliverymen traffic rules. And in Shenzhen, if a deliveryman breaks traffic rules three times, then he can’t do the job for the year. At the same time, we wish companies and people could give deliverymen more time on the street.

A. Changes. B. Problems. C. Differences. D. Voices.
14. What’s the youngest driving age in Canada?

15. In which of the following countries or cities can people drive on the right?
A. Britain, France and America. B. Malaysia, France and Canada.
C. Canada and Hong Kong, China. D. America and Guangzhou, China.

C. Driving ages in different countries. D. Which side of the road should people drive on.
