2. Give a title to the following poem.

One possible answer: Mother

Step 2  Pre-reading

1. Show the students a short English poem and part of an English story.

2. Ask the students the following question:

What’s the difference between a poem and a story?

3. Let some students give their answers and then tell them the difference between a poem and a story.

4. Ask the students the following question:

Which do you prefer to write, poems or stories?

Step 3  Reading

1. Ask the students to read the passage following the recording.

2. Explain the usage of “must” to the students.
