Step 1 Warming up
Have a free talk.
Show a picture of a crying baby to the class and say:
Look at the baby. What’s wrong with him?
Get the class to discuss it.
Then teacher says: He may be ill.
Teacher asks:
(1) What do you usually do when you feel ill?
(See a doctor./Go to hospital./…)
(2) What does the doctor usually advise you to do?
Show some pictures to the class and get the class to answer.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teach the new words stomach, pain, examination, pale and expressions regret doing sth., take an X-ray, get/have a (high) fever by using the pictures.
