Dear Victor,
I have received your letter from school and I am glad to know that you are becoming responsible (负责的) enough to decide on your career (职业).
You are now in the final year of high school and are going to start further education in college. You know that we belong to different times, and my social life is different from yours. However, all I can say as advice is that you must choose a career wisely. The first consideration is your interest. You can only succeed and feel happy when you do something you enjoy. You must get a job which provides you with not only something useful, but also something you like. Then, you must read a lot in the field (领域) you are aiming at. Also, you should get to know the men and women who work in that field. When the mind and heart work together, success is inevitable.
No career is more or less important. I think your interest may be in the field of making TV programmes. Your good communication skills, your taking an active part in school plays and the prizes you have won in speech competitions all lead you to that direction. So a career in mass communication like TV and film production will bring luck to you. If you succeed in that field, you will become famous and rich.
Think a thousand times before making any final decision about your career. After all, we want you to be a man of success. We all know that you are old enough to think for yourself.
With all the best wishes!
Your loving father

As the New Year of 2025 arrives, students are full of hope. To find out their goals, we interviewed several Grade nine students about their New Year’s resolutions.
As the new year arrives, the Zhongkao is around the corner, improving my English is my top resolution. I plan to listen to English tapes for 20 minutes every morning to improve my listening skills. Also, I’ll spend 30 minutes each day reading English stories and writing down new words. I’m sure these efforts will help me do better in the coming exam.
As the new year comes, the PE test in the Zhongkao is drawing near. I decide to get stronger. Before, my PE was not so good. This year, I’ll run for 15 minutes every morning. After school, I’ll jump rope for a while. On weekends, I’ll play ball games with my friends. I’m sure I can do better in the PE test and become healthier!
With the new year starting, I want to start a new hobby: paper-cutting. First, I’ll look for easy-to-follow videos on the Internet every Saturday and Sunday. These videos will teach me how to fold the paper and use scissors. Then, I’m going to join the art club at school. In the club, I can learn from my classmates Wang Yaming and make new friends. I am looking forward to making my own beautiful paper-cutting works!
After chatting with these students, we can feel how excited they are for the new year. We really hope they can keep going and make their dreams come true. We can’t wait to see how much they will grow!
