主题语境一 人与自我 主题(一) 生活与学习 话题3 认识自我,丰富自我,完善自我 1 内容索引 NEIRONGSUOYIN 高考真题精研 基础知识达标 写作能力提升 课时作业 巩固提升 2 高考真题精研 第一组 Passage 1 阅读理解(2020·全国Ⅰ卷·B) Returning to a book you’ve read many times can feel like drinks with an old friend. There’s a welcome familiarity—but also sometimes a slight suspicion that time has changed you both, and thus the relationship. But books don’t change, people do.And that’s what makes the act of rereading so rich and transformative. The beauty of rereading lies in the idea that our bond with the work is based on our present mental register. It’s true, the older I get,the more I feel time has wings. But with reading,it’s all about the present. It’s about the now and what one contributes to the now, because reading is a give and take between author and reader. Each has to pull their own weight.  There are three books I reread annually. The first, which I take to reading every spring,is Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast. Published in 1964,it’s his classic memoir of 1920s Paris. The language is almost intoxicating (令人陶醉的),an aging writer looking back on an ambitious yet simpler time.Another is Annie Dillard’s Holy the Firm, her poetic 1975 ramble (随笔) about everything and nothing. The third book is Julio Cortázar’s Save Twilight:Selected Poems, because poetry. And because Cortázar. While I tend to buy a lot of books, these three were given to me as gifts, which might add to the meaning I attach to them. But I imagine that, while money is indeed wonderful and necessary, rereading an author’s work is the highest currency a reader can pay them. The best books are the ones that open further as time passes. But remember,it’s you that has to grow and read and reread in order to better understand your friends. 24.Why does the author like rereading? A.It evaluates the writer-reader relationship. B.It’s a window to a whole new world. C.It’s a substitute for drinking with a friend. D.It extends the understanding of oneself. 根据第二段中的第一句“The beauty of rereading lies in the idea that our bond with the work is based on our present mental register.” 24 25 26 27 25.What do we know about the book A Moveable Feast? A.It’s a brief account of a trip. B.It’s about Hemingway’s life as a young man. C.It’s a record of a historic event. D.It’s about Hemingway’s friends in Paris. 根据第三段中的第三句“Published in 1964,it’s his classic memoir of 1920s Paris.” 再根据第三段中的第四句“...an aging writer looking back on an ambitious yet simpler time.” 24 25 26 27 26.What does the underlined word “currency” in paragraph 4 refer to? A.Debt. B.Reward. C.Allowance. D.Face value. 根据最后一段中的“...while money is indeed wonderful and necessary, rereading an author’s work is the highest currency a reader can pay them.” 24 25 26 27 27.What can we infer about the author from the text? A.He loves poetry. B.He’s an editor. C.He’s very ambitious. D.He teaches reading. 根据第三段中的倒数第二句“The third book is Julio Cortázar’s Save Twilight:Selected Poems, because poetry.” __________ adj.精神的;脑力的 slight suspicion thus relationship bond mental 7. __________ adv. 意义,意思→__________ adj.有意义的,重要的 →_____________ adj. 使转化,使改观→_______________ adj.变化的 12.poet n.诗人→__________ adj.诗歌的;富有诗意的→__________ n.诗歌;诗意→__________ n.诗;韵文 annually memoir aging meaningful meaningless transformative poetic poetry poem (二)熟词生义(写出句中黑体词的词性和汉语意思) 1.There’s a welcome familiarity—but also sometimes a slight suspicion that time has changed you both, and thus the relationship.(welcome基本义:n.欢迎adj.受欢迎的) __________________ 2.The beauty of rereading lies in the idea that our bond with the work is based on our present mental register.(register 基本义: v.登记n.登记 簿)_______________ adj. 1.be based on our present mental register _____________________ 2.pull their own weight ________________ 3.take to reading every spring ________________________ 基于目前的感情流露 尽他们的本分 每个春天都喜欢阅读的 19 ①Ten years of hard work transformed her completely __________ an ordinary housewife. ②Irish society gradually transformed from the traditional society __________ the modern society. ③In recent years his ideas have undergone a complete _____________ (transform). 1 transform vt.使转化,使改观 (四)词汇精研 into to transformation 20 ④(普通表达)Your generous help and tender care turned my first American trip into an unforgettable memory. [结构分析] The beauty of rereading是句子的主语;lies in是谓语;the idea是宾语;idea后是that引导的同位语从句。 [尝试翻译] ______________________________________________ __________________________________________ 重读的美妙之处在于这样一种思维,即我们与作品之间的联系是基于我们当下的思想流露。 2.While I tend to buy a lot of books, these three were given to me as gifts, which might add to the meaning I attach to them. [结构分析] 句中的while引导让步状语从句;主句中 these three是主语;谓语是were given;which might add to the meaning I attach to them是which引导的非限制性定语从句。 [尝试翻译] ______________________________________________ __________________________________________ 尽管我倾向于买很多书,但这三本书是作为礼物送给我的,这或许会增加我赋予它们的意义。 Passage 2 完形填空(2023·全国甲卷) Many years ago,I bought a house in the Garfagnana, where we still go every summer. The first time we 41 there,we heard the chug-chug-chug of a motorbike 42 its way down the hill toward us. Desperately,Wheatley set out to find comfort and healing (治疗) in nature. She travelled to Nepal where a friend convinced her to run in the Annapurna 100 with him.The power from that race changed her life and eventually had her look up at the tops of the mountains.Project Vision 8000 was born. And she began her mission to stand on the top of the world’s 14 highest mountains, towering 8,000 meters above sea level,to show herself and others the power of the choice and possibility. Colors and touch help guide her on the mountain and she has never once felt too tired to carry on.“The only constant thing is change,so when the weather gets really bad or a storm is coming in,I know it is going to pass.” So far, she’s had few problems standing among giants, but she admits she continues to struggle with overcoming the “mountains of her mind”.Having already stared death in the face,Wheatley has great respect for the mountains and the mission she is on. But she’s not scared. The experience almost claimed her life, but it is now the driving force and fuel behind her success. At every icy peak, she smiles and takes a quick video with a breathless “So very thankful” whispered into the thin air. 1.What happened to Wheatley according to paragraph 1?( ) A.She came last in a race. B.She suffered a head injury. C.She lost her sight completely. D.She was attacked on purpose in a class. 根据第一段的“While teaching a PE class, she was hit on the head with a baseball...blinding her in one eye.” 1 2 3 4 2.What drove Wheatley to launch Project Vision 8000?( ) A.Her exploration of nature. B.Her friend’s timely suggestions. C.Her strong love for sports. D.Her participation in the Annapurna 100. 1 2 3 4 D 根据第二段的“She travelled to Nepal where a friend convinced her...Project Vision 8000 was born.” 1 2 3 4 3.What can we learn about Wheatley from the last paragraph?( ) A.Her attitude toward adversity was reshaped. B.She was used to poor weather conditions. C.She ignored the mountains of her mind. D.Her nature helped her overcome fear. 根据最后一段中的“The only constant thing...going to pass.”,“Having already stared death...she’s not scared.”和“The experience...but it is now the driving force and fuel behind her success.” 故选A项。 1 2 3 4 4.What could be the best title for the text?( ) A.Every Peak Is Within Reach B.Lose Sight to Gain Vision C.Actions Speak Louder than Words D.Nature Will Take Its Course 1 2 3 4 B 1 2 3 4 B (2024·江西南昌一模)“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.” This is an old saying my fourth-grade teacher once told me.I grew up thinking as long as people didn’t physically hurt each other, hurtful words were to be tolerated, but I changed my mind after reading Linda O’Connell’s story,Two Little Words with a Big Impact. She discussed two words:“and” and “but”,and explained how “but” can be one of the most destructive words. Then I realized I had been hurt by the word “but”,and that I had wounded others, too,by using the word thoughtlessly. For example, when I was a teacher and edited my students’ stories,I would always say their content was good, but then I would add comments such as “but you need to make your characters more realistic”. I could have said,“Your content is good and making your characters more believable will make it even better.” In setting up guidelines for commenting on writers,I realize we need to praise each other, make helpful remarks, and then praise each other again, without using the word “but”.I remember a college professor who said,“There is no such thing as constructive criticism.Criticism is criticism.” She has now passed away, but her words remain with me always. My fourth-grade teacher’s quote was aimed at what she thought was harmless playground teasing, but even teasing hurts.Today,we can read sad news related to many stories where people have been terribly hurt by ugly words and suffered a lot.Now I realize the importance of thinking before speaking, even to avoid seemingly unimportant words like “but”.Sticks and stones break our bones, but thoughtless words also do harm. They can leave marks for a lifetime.
