Affordable Beach Vacation in Corfu
Corfu, an island off the coast of Greece, offers visitors sunkissed shores with clear water and lots of beaches.
Finding the Perfect Beach
Our first pick is Sidari Beach. It's a blue flag beach perfect for couples looking for a more private feel, as it's far from bigger tourist destinations. Issos Beach makes for the perfect place for watching the sunset. Dassia Bay has a bit more water sports. Paleokastritsa is an amazing West Coast village with six beaches on offer, including Rovinia Beach.
Getting around Corfu
Corfu offers bike rentals and bus service as a cheaper alternative(替代) to taxis. The best time to visit Corfu is during the “shoulder season” in April/May. The weather isn't as warm as the high seasons but it remains perfect. It is not crowded in this period, but you still need to book ahead of schedule as Corfu stays popular throughout the year.
Eating Out For Less
There are a lot of wellpriced restaurants but street food is also a big winner. Some popular choices are Souvlakia and Pita Gyros. There are also many cheeses special to Greece, including Tirokafteri and Ladotyri. Corfu also has many unbelievable desserts(甜食). Stazei Meli is a tourist favourite to give them a try.

Peru is famously known as “Land of the Incas”. A trip to Peru has been on my wish list for quite a while. It was finally time for me to visit the country.
My first day started in Lima, the capital of Peru. I met with the G Adventures representative (代表) here about the tour. G Adventures is an organization that helps you to connect with other likeminded people in small groupbased travel adventures. They played a big part in helping to make Peru an unforgettable experience for me! In Lima, my representative discussed the plan of my tour, and I also had the chance to explore Lima in my own time, with many activities, including a city tour, show, biking tour, and more.
Day two had me taking a flight from Lima to Cusco. Many people visit Cusco for shopping but for me, the main reason for spending a day or two in Cusco was to acclimatize(适应) to the altitude(海拔). As I'd decided to reach the wonder of Machu Picchu, acclimatizing became important to avoid altitude sickness. I was happy to spend a day exploring Cusco. Cusco was once the capital of the Inca Empire. Today, it's famous for its artists, paintings, clothing and traditional instruments. There's something for everyone in this city.
The day finally came! Day three had me enjoying a lovely guided visit to Machu Picchu at sunrise. I had free time to explore the city on my own as well as with my guide. It was a lot to take in! I had to stop for a moment and felt the energy of such an ancient city. The history here was unbelievable and I will never forget my time here for as long as I live!

A small study out of Skidmore College examined the advantages of morning vs evening exercise for both women and men. Paul, professor for health at Skidmore, led the study.
“We had the groups divided into evening and morning groups,” he says. “We found women and men answered differently to different types of exercise depending on the time of the day, which surprised us.”
The study showed that for women who want to lower blood pressure(血压), the risk of heart disease or reduce fat, morning exercise works best. Those women hoping for upper body muscle(肌肉) gains or mood(心情) improvement should consider evening exercise. For the men, the findings were somewhat different: Evening exercise lowers blood pressure, the risk of heart disease, and feelings of tiredness. But similar to women, they burn more fat with morning exercise.
“For many people, the best time to exercise will depend on their chronotype,” says Heisz, author of Move the Body, Heal the Mind.
“Chronotype is your body's natural habit to sleep at a certain time—it's what decides whether you're a night owl or an early bird. For the 25% of the population that considers themselves a night owl, getting both enough sleep and enough exercise can be difficult,” adds Heisz.
He continues, “Sleep—which provides your body the necessary time to recover(恢复) and make gains from exercise—should always be the first choice. When it comes to exercise, regardless of research on the advantages of certain exercises at particular times of the day, your results will not be good if it doesn't allow enough time for sleep.”

Physical education, or PE, isn't required for all high school students. In some schools, it isn't offered for some different reasons. But should high school students have physical education? The answer is certainly “yes”.
Today many people don't do sports. But as is known to all, doing sports is very important for an adult. Teaching teens the importance of a healthy lifestyle and making fitness plans now can help teens put exercise in the first place as an adult.
High school isn't that easy. Many students are under a lot of stress. Stress can be harmful to a student's studies and life. Doing sports can help them deal with stress better, helping them live a happier life at school.
The American Heart Association says that 10 million kids and teens suffer from obesity(肥胖). Teens should get 60 minutes of physical activity per day to control their weight and to help their bones get stronger. The increase in activities that don't get teens to move around, such as computer games, means many teens don't get their required exercise. PE classes act as a public health measure(措施) to encourage physical activities and help teens have healthy weights.
Not doing sports increases teens' hazard of developing many diseases. An active lifestyle offers a good way of protection from these health problems. As much as 75 percent of healthcare spending goes toward treating medical conditions that can be prevented by lifestyle changes, according to the American College of Sports Medicine.
According to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN), students who performed five hours of physical activities each week improved their academic(学业的) performance. Students from programs with no physical activity, who used the extra time for classroom study, did not perform better on tests than those who gave up some study time in support of physical education.

36.in 考查介词。句意:有一次我数学不及格,我很生气。根据“failed”和“the mathematics”可推知,此处表示“数学不及格”,应用固定短语fail in,意为“在……中失败”,因此空处应用介词in。故填in。

Dear Andy,
I am sorry to hear that you are worried about your weight. Now, I am writing to share my change of health conditions with you.
In the past, I liked eating junk food and disliked working out, which made me put on weight quickly. As a result, I was out of breath while climbing the stairs and felt tired all day. Fortunately, a doctor advised me to go on a diet as well as do sports regularly. I followed his advice. From then on, I worked out every day and cut the junk food out. A year later, I became slim and felt energetic all day.
In my opinion, only when we stick to a balanced diet and keep working out can we keep fit. I hope you can try it. Looking forward to your good news.
Yours,
Li Hua

“Eric! Eric! Wake up! You will be late for school today!” Eric's mum said while pulling Eric out of bed.
“Mum, don't worry!”Eric said as he quickly got up, put on his clothes, took his bag, and ran to the bus stop.
Recently, Eric had gotten enrolled(注册) in a new school so he knew no one there and had made no friends yet. At school, Eric longed for the bell to ring for the class break so that he could eat something. After a while, when the bell rang, Eric quickly opened his bag to take out his money to buy some food. But just then he remembered he had forgotten to take the money his mum had given him.
Not knowing what to do, he walked out of the classroom and sat on a bench(长凳) in front of the dining room. He saw a few of his classmates there, among them was Bob.He was one of the richest kids in his class but he was very unfriendly. But as Eric was new, he didn't know much about anyone.
Eric thought he might borrow some money from Bob and return it to him the next day. So he got up and slowly went towards Bob and asked if he could borrow some money.
Bob smirked(幸灾乐祸地笑) and said,“I knew you were a loser, but I didn't know you were a beggar too?” Bob laughed out so loud that the other kids heard and also made fun of Eric.
It was too humiliating(丢脸的) for Eric.He could not answer Bob and slowly walked back towards an empty bench. He could still hear them laughing at him in the distance. When he reached the bench, he noticed something lying near it. It was a wallet. He picked it up and recognized it as Bob's, as he remembered Bob showing it to his friends and saying that his uncle bought it for him from the UK.

Still want money?” “No, I've just come to return your wallet which you dropped over there,” Eric said.Bob stood in silence for a second. All his friends were silent too. “Why are you giving the wallet back when you could have kept it for yourself?” asked Bob.
