In real life, you can see science and technology everywhere now. In the near future, your life will be full of more amazing technologies. They will make your life easier and make learning more exciting!
Before school
Imagine (想象) waking up in the morning, your breakfast machine has already prepared a meal for your family. There is no need to carry heavy schoolbags because all your textbooks, notebooks, and even homework will be in a small magical tablet (平板电脑). As you sit down at the table, your tablet will show you a to-do list (清单) for the day.
On the way to school
Instead of (代替) walking to school, you will usually use self-driving cars. They can take you right there. These cars know where to go and can even tell you fun facts about science or history. If the road is busy, you might even take school planes.
At school
The walls of classrooms can turn into big screens for you to watch 10D videos. The school library can “think” and make you feel the “real” environment. When the teacher tells a story about the forest, the trees will “appear” around you. You can smell the flowers and hear the birds singing. You can even feel the raindrops falling on your faces. Lunchtime will be super cool! There might even be a robot cook in the dining hall who prepares healthy and delicious meals just for you.
____▲____
Your family smart helper knows about your learning needs. They can help you practice reading or math skills in a fun way. You can join clubs like “Robot Builders”. In the clubs, you can make your own robots that can do housework or play games with you.

In the future, we might not just drive or take trains to get around. Smart people are making a new way to travel: flying cars. These cars can drive on the road like usual cars, but they can also fly in the sky like planes.
“Wow, can you imagine flying over traffic jams?” asks Tom.
“Sure, Tom!” answers Sarah. “It would save us so much time.” Flying cars can help deal with (处理) some big travel problems. One is traffic jams. With flying cars, people can fly over them and save time. Another problem is pollution. Many flying cars are being made as electric cars, so...
“I heard these electric (电) flying cars won’t pollute the air,” Jack puts a word in.
“That’s right, Jack,” adds Emma. “They’re eco-friendly and a big step towards cleaner transportation (交通).”
Safety (安全) is very important for new ways to travel. Engineers are using cool technology to make flying cars safe. They put safety nets into them, like parachutes and good guided systems (导航系统) to help.
“Dad, are flying cars safe?” little Timmy asks.
“Yes, Timmy,” his dad reassures him. “Engineers are working hard to make them as safe as possible.”
Flying cars are still being tested, but some companies have tried them out. It might take a few years, but soon we might see flying cars in our everyday life. The idea of flying cars is not just a dream any more—it’s getting real.
“I can’t wait for the day we can just fly to work,” says Lisa, excitedly.
“Me neither,” agrees Mike. “It’s going to change the way we live and travel.”

What will the schools be like in the future? Smart schools will be the schools of our century. These future schools are different from those in the past. They use high technology to help students learn more quickly and safely, as well as bring convenience to teachers.

At Staffordshire University in the UK, many students enjoy talking to Beacon and asking it questions. Beacon is an AI robot that was made by the university. It is like a personal helper for students. They can ask it questions, and it can answer as a real teacher.
Amazon also has smart school things. Alexa, the company’s voice-activated (声控的) smart robot, can be used to help teachers with their classes. For example, it can remember what the teacher’s classroom is like, such as how bright the lights should be, and change them right away.
