I. Teaching Aims

2a & 2b Activities (5 minutes)
2a Task: Play the 2a audio. Students listen and number the pictures [1 - 5] in the order they hear them. The correct order is: 2, 4, 1, 5, 3.
2b Task: Play the audio again. Students match the problems with the advice. The correct matches are:

Check answers as a class.
Step 3 Speaking Practice (15 minutes)
1c Activity (7 minutes)
Students look at the picture in 1a. They make conversations about the students' problems, using the model: "A: What's the matter with Judy? B: She talked too much yesterday and didn't drink enough water. She has a very sore throat now."
Model with a student first, then have students practice in pairs. Walk around to assist with conversation making, focusing on vocabulary and sentence pattern use.
2c & 2d Activities (8 minutes)
2c Task: Students make conversations using the information in 2a and 2b, with the model: "A: What's the matter? B: My head feels very hot. A: Maybe you have a fever... B:..."
2d Task: Students role - play the conversation between Mandy and Lisa. Encourage them to use proper intonation and expression.
Walk around to assist with role - playing, providing feedback on pronunciation and fluency.
Step 4 Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summary: Recap body - part vocabulary, health - problem expressions, and the "What's the matter?" sentence pattern with advice - giving phrases.
Homework:
Write down the body - part vocabulary and health - problem expressions, then make three sentences using them.
Practice the 2d conversation with a classmate and be ready to perform it next class.
