写作任务
本单元的写作任务是活动报道。活动报道是记叙文的一种,其特点是以事实为依据,所以首先要交代事件或活动的时间、地点、目的和参与者,然后叙述活动的过程,最后对活动进行评价。报道的应用较为广泛,实用性强。活动报道的正文一般可以分为三部分:

Cultural Heritage Exhibition Lights up Our School
Last Friday, a cultural heritage exhibition was held in the gym of our school. The event aimed to raise students’ awareness of cultural heritage preservation.
The exhibition displayed some pictures of old buildings including temples, palaces and walls. There was another area showing the beauty of ancient clothing and daily supplies, among which hanfu attracted a lot of attention. In order to let students have a better understanding of traditional culture, our school held a Chinese traditional culture exhibition last Saturday,which turned out to be a great success.

Last weekend, I participated in a “Getting to Know the Plants Around Us” activity organised by our Students’ Union.
The activity began with a lecture by a local botanist, who taught us about the different characteristics and uses of various plant species. We then went on a natural walk to observe and collect samples of different plants. Throughout the event, I was struck by the incredible variety of plants that exist in our world and learned about plants that are used for medical purposes, as well as those that provide food and shelter for animals. I also gained a greater appreciation for the role that plants play in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience.

Last Sunday witnessed an activity themed” Getting to know the plants around us” organized by the Student Union.
First, a botanist gave us an informative lecture on how the local street trees and flowers are picked, including appearance, adaptability and management cost. Second, we were challenged by a competition of identifying some local plants. With the aid of photography, documents and drawing, two groups were evenly matched! Last Sunday witnessed an extraordinary cross-country running race, which nearly drew the attention of every student and teacher of our school.
The students selected from every class took part in the competition. The route measured five kilometers, from our school gate to the foot of Nanshan Mountain. Every runner tried their best to finish the task, with their classmates along the way giving them necessarily help as well as encouragement. At last, all the runners managed to arrive the finish line, receiving cheers from all the directions.
The activity was highly spoken of, because not only did it provide chance for us to exercise, but also made us more cohesive.

A Cross-Country Running Race
On Sunday June 11th our school held an annual cross-country running race, which turned out to be a huge success.
Participating in this activity were energetic and dynamic participants from every class who started from the school gate and ran all the way to the foot of Nanshan Mountain, covering 5 kilometers altogether. Challenging as the race was, all the runners gave full play to their willpower, most of whom strove to cross the finishing line, enjoying the enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience.
After the race, we felt that not only did the event improve our physical and psychological quality, but it also erased our fatigue and pressure caused by heavy study.
