Unit 1 Friendship 第五课时(Period 5) 教学内容 Focusing on culture (pp. 14-15) 主要语篇 A true friend (From Charlotte’s Web) 教学目标 通过本课的学习,学生能够: 1. 了解小说的背景知识及主要人物,理解选段的主要情节内容。 2. 赏析重点词句,读懂文字所表达的情感,表达自己的理解。 3. 评价小说角色对于友情的态度。 4. 通过延展阅读或观看电影深入理解作品的主题意义,并通过海报等形式进行分享。 教学重点 了解作品的背景知识及主要人物,归纳和梳理主要情节。 教学难点 理解和评价作品所表达的对于友情的态度。 【教学过程】 Step 1 观看电影片段,观察课本图片,预测主要人物和他们之间的关系。 Step 2 教师介绍作品的背景并且朗读选段,或让学生速读课文,引导学生思考以下问题。 Who was Wilbur’s best friend? And where was she? Step 3教师通过图片环游的模式带领学生观察图片(可以是小说插图,也可以是电影截图)。分段阅读及讨论和回答问题,引导学生在文段中找出关键信息。 1. Lines 1-6 Questions: What was “the big day” for Wilbur? What happened on that day? On that day, the small spiders came out of the eggs. 2. Lines 7-15 Questions: What was Wilbur expecting? Why didn’t he want the little spiders to go? (Possible answer) He was expecting to make friends with the small spiders. Because if they went, Wilbur would have no friends. 3. Lines 16-20 Questions: Why did Wilbur cry himself to sleep? Why did he become happy again? (Possible answer) He cried himself to sleep because many small spiders went away. He became happy again because three of the small spiders were staying when he woke up. 4. Lines 21-24 Questions: Was Charlotte still Wilbur’s best friend? Why? Do you think Wilbur is a true friend to Charlotte? Why or why not? (Possible answer) Yes, she was. Because Wilbur never forgot Charlotte. He loved her children and grandchildren, but they could never take her place in his heart. (Possible answer) Yes. I think Wilbur is a true friend to Charlotte. He looked after her eggs after she passed away, and he never forgot about her. 注意:在阅读和讨论的过程中,教师应适当利用上下文给学生讲解文章中出现的生词,扫清学生的阅读障碍,并鼓励学生充分表达自己的理解。 Step 4教师引导学生对“This felt like the end of the world to Wilbur.”进行赏析,并讨论以下问题。What does a true friend mean to Wilbur? And what does a true friend mean to you? Step 5 角色扮演:3—6人一组,分别扮演Narrator、Baby spiders、Wilbur,再现片段中的场景。如果班里学生人数较多,可以分成两个部分:1—16行,17行至结尾。 *如果学生程度较好,可采取阅读圈的阅读形式引导学生阅读语篇。 Step 1 观看电影片段和课本图片,预测主要人物和他们之间的关系。教师介绍作品的背景。 Step 2 分组阅读,小组中不同的同学担任不同的角色,从不同的角度完成不同的阅读任务。 1.
