Students find one sports item that both they and their partner have in pairs, then talk about the sport or exercise they do with it using the sentence patterns: “Do you have a ping - pong bat?”, “Yes, I do.”, “How often do you play ping - pong?”, “I play it three times a week.”. Let students work in pairs first, then invite several pairs to share their dialogues with the class.
Step 5 Summary(2 minutes)
Summary: Recap sports - related vocabulary, key sentences for talking about sports ownership and frequency. Students take notes.
Step 6 Homework(1 minute)
Homework:
Make a list of three sports items you have and how often you use them in English.
Practice talking about your sports items and frequency with a family member using the learned sentences.
