第一节 阅读理解(共15题;每题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
As a member of the Sunshine student reporter group, I went to the City Park to have some street interviews. I asked some parents and kids about their opinions on the “Double Reduction” (双减) policy. Here’s what they said.
Gao Li, a nurse with two kids
I agree with the policy. My kids have more free time on weekends. My daughter goes to learn ballet and my son learns to play the piano. And we can have more family activities together. We often go hiking on weekends.
Xiao Le, a student in Grade 7
Now I can do some reading or take up new hobbies in my spare time. I really like the policy, because doing these things can make us feel happy and relaxed.
Li Bing, a driver with a son
My son, Li Xiang, is in a middle school. He often finishes his homework at school. So he can read different books he likes at home. And he often helps us do some housework.
Xiao Juan, a student in Grade 8
We students have enough sleep every night. Good sleep keeps us active during the day. And on weekends we have more time to learn new skills and to do some volunteer activities.
26. What may the writer be?
A. A student. B. A worker. C. A nurse. D. A driver.
27. Which activity is NOT mentioned in the passage?
A. Having enough sleep. B. Reading some books.
C. Doing much homework. D. Doing some volunteer activities.
28. What are the interviews about?
A. Family activities. B. Healthy living habits.
C. A holiday plan. D. The “Double Reduction” policy.
B
When I started middle school, I thought my only job was studying. My parents did all the cleaning and cooking. I often left my clothes and books everywhere, so our house was always messy. Every morning, my mom would get up early to prepare breakfast for me, while my dad would rush to work after quickly having a bite. In the evening, they would come back home exhausted, yet still take on the tiring housework without a word of complaint.
One day, my mom came home from work and saw the messy rooms. She was upset and said, “From today, you must help with chores every day.” At first, I felt it was unfair. Why should I do chores when I had so much homework? But I still listened to her.
On the first day of doing chores, I tried to sweep the floor. The dust flew everywhere, and I had to sweep the same spot several times to make it clean. Washing dishes was even worse—my hands got all wrinkled from the water, and I accidentally broke a plate. After a week, I realized chores were much harder than I thought. My parents worked all day and still did so much at home! I decided to try different chores—sweeping, washing dishes, and folding clothes. This way, my parents could rest when they came back. They smiled and praised my efforts. My dad even taught me some useful tips for folding clothes neatly.
Now I understand: kids shouldn’t depend on parents for everything. Learning chores helps us when we live alone someday. It not only makes us more independent but also shows our love and care for our families.
29. What did the writer’s parents usually do after coming back home in the evening?
A. They would watch TV and relax.
B. They would continue to do housework despite being tired.
C. They would ask the writer to help with homework.
D. They would go out for a walk.
30. How did the writer feel about doing chores at first?
A. Happy. B. Tired. C. Unfair. D. Excited
31. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Kids should focus on studying and never do chores.
B. Doing chores is a waste of time for students.
C. Learning to do chores can make kids more independent.
D. Parents should do all the housework for their kids.
C
Do you have any indoor plants in your room? Indoor plants might look as if they just sit around, but in many ways, they are the silent heroes of the home. Not only do they look beautiful, but studies have shown that they can also be known as houseplants or pot plants. They are plants that like to grow indoors. Many of them are not ideally fit for growing outside, especially in winter. Instead, they grow better inside, where it is warmer.
Will Spoelstra, a British botanist (植物学家), tells us, “There are many a...of growing plants indoors. During the winter months, plants around the house can really lift your mood.” Several studies have backed this up and found that indoor plants can improve creativity and memory. There is also research showing that pot plants can clean the air around them by taking in harmful gases (气体). “Plants can remove some harmful chemicals after the house is newly painted. Peace lilies and ivy are among the best,” says Will.
As for indoor plants, you can choose the ones that are easy to grow. You can buy them from supermarkets, garden centers or online. Younger plants are often cheaper than grown ones. You can also enjoy the joy during the process of their growth. Will suggests people read the instructions of the plants or find out more about the plants before making a decision.
32. What is the proper word in the sentence “There are many a... of growing plants indoors.”?
A. Agreements. B. Activities. C. Abilities. D. Advantages.
33. What are “peace lilies and ivy”?
A. Two kinds of gases. B. Two kinds of plants.
C. Two kinds of chemicals. D. Two kinds of houses.
34. Why do many indoor plants grow better inside?
A. Because it’s warmer indoors in winter.
B. Because they like to be near people.
C. Because there is more sunlight inside.
D. Because they can’t grow outside at all.
35. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Indoor plants are difficult to grow.
B. Indoor plants are useful and helpful at home.
C. British botanists study indoor plants.
D. People should buy expensive plants.
D
Why can’t children look after themselves these days? The main reason is that their parents help them do everything. In their opinion, children should spend all their time on schoolwork. They just want their children to work hard so that they can get into a good university. This has caused teenagers to depend too much on their parents. So some teenagers may do well in school, but they still lack (缺乏) independence.
My friend told me a story. It was about a student who got into a good university. But one month later, he dropped out of school. His parents were surprised and asked him why he had come back home. He answered, “I can’t live alone without you. I hate this feeling. My classmates and friends laugh at me. They think I am like a big boy and they say I need my mom to help me do everything.” Then, his parents realized their son wasn’t kidding. They regretted how they had raised (抚养) him.
Teenagers need to be independent. Parents should love their children, but spoiling (宠溺) them is harmful to them. Some grandparents spoil their grandchildren very much. They think their grandchildren should get everything they want. But they should know it is important for children to be independent. The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better off they will be in life.
36. Why did the university student drop out of school?
A. He missed his parents and couldn’t live independently.
B. He didn’t like his classmates.
C. He failed the exams.
D. He wanted to find a job.
37. Why did the writer tell a story in Paragraph 2?
A. To support his opinion.
B. To tell us not to drop out of school.
C. To make the text more interesting.
D. To express his true feelings.
38. What does the underlined word “regretted” mean in Paragraph 2?
A. 满意 B. 后悔 C. 期待 D. 重复
39 Which of the following would the writer probably agree with?
A. Parents shouldn’t push kids to learn.
B Parents should make kids do some housework.
C. It’s necessary for kids to get a good education.
D. Kids shouldn’t be taken care of by their grandparents.
40. What’s the best title for the text?
A. The Ways to be Independent
B. The Results of Spoiling Kids
C. The Importance of Children’s Independence
D. How to Raise a Kid
第二节 阅读表达(共5题,每题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
With AI technology developing quickly, more students are using AI tools like homework helpers and language apps. But is this helpful or harmful? Let’s hear different voices.
Students’ Experiences
Tom, 14: “AI helps me solve math problems step by step. It saves time and makes learning less stressful. Last month, I improved my math grade from B to A with an AI app!”
Lily, 13: “I use AI to check English grammar. But sometimes I depend too much on it. Once I asked AI to write a whole essay, and my teacher found out because the words were too advanced for me.”
A Teacher’s Opinion
Mr. Green (Science teacher): “AI is a great tool if used wisely. It teaches students to ask the right questions. For example, my students used AI to design science projects, but they had to analyze whether the AI suggestions were logical.”
A Parent’s Worry
Mrs. Chen (Lily’s mother): “I’m worried AI stops kids from thinking by themselves. Last week, Lily couldn’t even solve simple questions without her phone. Real learning needs human effort!”
Conclusion
AI is like a double-edged sword (双刃剑). It makes learning efficient but may reduce creativity. As society becomes more tech-driven, students must learn to use AI responsibly—neither fearing it nor depending on it blindly.

AI in Our Daily Life
With the development of technology, AI is becoming a part of our daily life. Here are two examples.
First, AI helps us on our smartphones. Voice assistants like Siri can answer questions and set reminders for us. Second, many translation apps use AI. They can translate languages quickly and help people talk to foreigners.
I think AI is very helpful. It makes life easier and more convenient. But we should also learn how to use it correctly and not depend on it too much.
