Once upon a time, there were four seeds (种子) who were good friends. They traveled by wind and came to a forest. They hid themselves in the ground and hoped that they would be able to grow into big trees.
There lived a group of monkeys, and the smallest monkeys loved to throw bananas at any plant that started to grow. They threw so many bananas at the first seed that she was almost cut into two. When she told the other seeds what happened, they thought that it would be better to wait until the monkeys went away.
They all agreed with that, except the first seed. Every time she tried, she was hurt by bananas. The other seeds asked her to stop trying. But she had made up her mind to become a tree. She tried again and again. Later, she had already grown so well that the monkeys couldn’t hurt her badly. At last, she grew into the biggest tree in the forest. The other seeds still hid themselves in the ground, hoping the monkeys would go away soon.
That’s the way with a lot of things. The final success always belongs to those who keep trying.

I watched the film Better Days (《少年的你》) with a sad feeling several days ago. I used to think school bullying (霸凌) was far from us, but that is not true. Many teenagers suffer from (忍受) school bullying. The reason why we don’t know about their suffering is that many of them don’t dare to (敢于) speak out about their experiences. Some do speak out, but no one around them is willing to help them go through their terrible days. The bad effect (影响) of school bullying on the victim can last a lifetime. It’s time we did something about this problem.
First of all, I think we need to make school rules. Many boys and girls bully others because the school rules hardly solve bullying problems.
Second, it is important for teachers and parents to discover the bullying in time. As students, we should report school bullying incidents to our teachers or parents as soon as possible.
Last but not least, we should try our best to stop school bullying from happening. Perhaps schools can care more about students’ mental (心理的) health since scientists have found bullies are nearly twice as likely to have mental health problems.
I’d like to call on all schools and families to discover and stop school bullying. I hope all students can have a happy school life.

Have you ever heard about “Survival (生存) Holiday”? “Survival Holiday” is for children to go to a lonely place for exciting activities. Now, about 1,100 companies ask children to go into nature. However, their parents can’t go with them.
The reason why people like “Survival Holiday” is that they think it is good for children to be close to nature. Many children in big cities spend lots of time watching TV. Playing computer games also takes them a lot of time. “Survival Holiday” brings them an important change.
Is “Survival Holiday” a wonderful idea? Maybe it is. Children need more free time to play. So parents sometimes should leave them alone. Parents care too much about their children. They like to see their children being busy with activities that are controlled by adults, but children don’t know what to do when they are in danger. Even something like crossing a small river seems like a hard challenge. Children are not comfortable with danger. Even small dangers like getting their feet wet or falling down seem very terrible to them.
Many people think the survival activities are good for children. Even years later, they will still remember what they have learned. Some have learned how to stay calm in different situations. Some have learned how to keep safe. Others have learned how to work in a team. All these useful skills will help them a lot in their lives.
“Survival Holiday” is for children to get to a lonely place to experience exciting activities ____45____ their parents.
