A man told Yu Gong that he could never do it.
While - listening
Play 1b audio. Tell students: “Listen and check (✓) the facts you hear. Then, determine which story they’re discussing.”
Play the audio twice. Pause after each play to let students mark facts.
Post - listening
Check answers:
All three facts are checked (✓).
The story is “Yu Gong Moves the Mountains” (matches the facts about moving mountains, an old man, and someone doubting him).
IV. 1c Activity – Story Discussion (13 mins)
Instruction
Show 1c discussion questions:
How does the story begin?
What happened next?
Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains?
Explain: “Discuss these questions with your partner. Use the listening facts and your knowledge of the story. Try to retell the story sequence.”
Student Activity
