Ne Zha—the Brave Boy of Chentang Pass (陈塘关)
①Ne Zha was born with a special but dangerous power (能力) because of a heavenly mistake (天界的错误). People called him a “Demon Child” (魔童). Though he looked scary, his parents, General Li Jing and Lady Yin, loved him very much. They hid him from others and asked a wise teacher, Taiyi Zhenren (太乙真人), to help him learn to control his power.
②As Ne Zha grew up, he felt lonely because the villagers were afraid of him. One day, he met Ao Bing (敖丙), the son of the Dragon King. Ao Bing pretended (假装) to be Ne Zha’s friend, but he secretly planned to use lots of water to cover Chentang Pass to save his underwater home. When Ne Zha found out, he decided to stop Ao Bing.
③In the battle (战斗), Ne Zha used two magic tools: a red silk ribbon (红色绸带) to tie Ao Bing and a fire spear (火尖枪) to break the dragon’s magic. Even though he was hurt, Ne Zha saved the village. In the end, he gave up his own life to put an end to his dangerous power and protect everyone.
