1. I begin as a speck of dust (一粒灰尘) in a cloud.

4. As more water droplets join me, I get six arms on each side.
5. Each arm grows smaller arms of its own as I get bigger and bigger.
6. Then, I wait while growing until one day the ground is cold enough so that I can come down from the cloud to the ground.
7. Finally, I get to the ground with many other snowflakes. What a beautiful snowy blanket we make together!
Did you know:

① “Why did she tell everyone?” I couldn’t believe it was true. I’d never forget that day—how everyone looked at me. The memory stayed with me forever, and I couldn’t accept losing someone I trusted so much.
②Five years earlier, Sally was the new student in class. She was the kindest person I had ever known, and we quickly became close friends. I never thought she’d hurt me like this.
③I still don’t know why I shared my secrets with Sally. But instead of keeping them private, she twisted (扭曲) the story and spread it behind my back. Soon, everyone at school was laughing at me. The situation was so terrible that I chose to change schools, even though Sally kept calling me.
④It took me years to lessen the pain in my heart. I moved on, made new friends, and rebuilt my life. Then, five years later, I ran into Anna, an old classmate, at the market. She told me the truth: Sally wasn’t the one who spread my secrets—it was Mary, the school’s biggest mouth, who loved to stick her nose into other people’s business.
⑤I felt deeply regretful. I should trust Sally and never blame (责怪) her. I should talk to her at that time. I wish I could undo my mistake. But this taught me an important lesson: Trust the people you love, and don’t let misunderstandings ruin (毁灭) relationships.

①On April 24, 2025, China successfully sent up the Shenzhou-20 spaceship from Jiuquan. Riding the Long March-2F rocket, three astronauts—Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie are flying towards China’s space station. They will live and work there for six months.
②April 24 is special: China’s 10th Space Day. It marks the celebration of China’s first satellite, Dongfanghong-1, which was sent up on the same day in 1970.
③The Long March-2F rocket has been improved in 32 ways. Scientists try to use more apps to work smarter. A key improvement is that they can send information much faster. In the past, important flight information was saved in a “black box” and checked only after landing. Now, the rocket sends live information in space, as fast as 100 pages every second! This lets scientists closely watch the flight from Earth.
④The Shenzhou-20 spacecraft itself is also better:
*It has more room for things, carrying 20% more things needed to the station.
* It can connect faster with the space station.
* Its new batteries (电池) are lighter and work better than older ones.
⑤But one thing stays the same: the power of China’s space scientists. They love their country and work very hard. In the past, they studied a lot and got rich experience. Today, young scientists still go on with this hard work. Surely, China’s space program will keep reaching further and making great new success.

A It’s World Book Day. B. It’s Shenzhou-20’s Invention Day.

13. What can we learn about the Shenzhou-20 spacecraft?
A. It was sent up with four astronauts. B. It will do space work for one month.
C. Its batteries can work better than before. D. It only brings information to Earth after landing.
14. What is the 3rd paragraph mainly about?
A. The astronauts on the space station. B. The history of China’s 1st satellite.
C. How long a rocket can work. D. How scientists improved the rocket.
15. What’s the writer’s purpose of writing the passage?
A. To introduce space travel problems.

【答案】例文
Dear Tony,
I’m so happy to hear that you are interested in my school radio station. It broadcasts at different times every school day, sharing useful and interesting things with us.
In the morning, it plays short meaningful stories about good things happening at school, like students helping each other, or stories about growth, love, and success. These touching stories make me feel proud of our school, and I have learnt many positive lessons from them. During lunchtime, it plays English songs or light music. This really makes us relaxed and helps improve our language skills. In the afternoon, it gives notices about school events or safety tips, which is always useful and helpful. It teaches us how to protect ourselves in different situations.

Best wishes.
Yours,
Li Hua

②The service is used on 10 trains connecting five main stations: Beijing South, Jinan West, Nanjing South, Shanghai Hongqiao, and Hangzhou East. Pets must be healthy cats or dogs under 15 kg and 40 cm tall. Owners need to show the pet health certificate (证书). Pets will stay in special boxes on a separate carriage (车厢).
8. How did the writer start the story in Paragraph 1?

9. Why did the writer decide to change schools?

10. According to Para 5, what will the writer do if something like this happens again?
A. Keep silent and leave her friends sadly.
B. Speak out her feelings to avoid regret later on.
C. Let it go and make friends with others.
D. Have a fight against her friends to show her anger.
11. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. True Close Friends B. The Wrong Blame C. Changing Schools D. School Accidents
D
12. Why is April 24 special?
A It’s World Book Day. B. It’s Shenzhou-20’s Invention Day.
C. It’s the city’s 10th birthday. D. It’s China’s Space Day.
B. To show how rockets are created.
C. To share good news on China’s space progress.
D. To compare Chinese and American space programmes.
