He would take a small blanket (毯子),warm it up and wrap it around my small cold feet with his loving hands. For some children, doing housework may be their last choice. For many parents, getting their children to do some housework is also one big headache. However, a Malaysian mother found a creative way. Nurofiza came up with a reward system (奖励制度) for her two sons at home and posted it online. She chose some housework and gave them money for what they did. Nurafiza also opened a “mini supermarket” at home for her kids. They could buy candies at her mini market from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The money she gave to her kids was a kind of prop (道具). Because of the system, Nurafiza’s children are now more willing to do housework. Her post has got over 15,000 likes and has been shared over 27,000 times online. Many parents have begun to imitate her. In other words, they use the same way to teach their children. In fact, doing housework can play a very important role in children’s growth. First, it teaches children necessary skills for living, such as cooking and cleaning. Second, it is a good way to help children keep healthy. Third, it creates possibilities (可能) for parents and children to be closer. Finally, a child can grow into a responsible (有责任感的) and independent (独立的) person by helping with the housework. 1.How does the writer lead into (导入) the text? A.By telling stories. D.To encourage children to do more housework. 三、阅读还原 (一) Many parents do not let their children do housework because they want their children to focus on their studies. This thought must be changed. 1 Housework builds children’s responsibility (责任). Children are a part of the family, so it is clear that they also have responsibility for doing housework. 2 The adults who did housework at age 3 or 4 are likely to be successful in their mid-20s because they have more responsibility for other areas of their lives. 3 It is very bad when children cannot do housework. They can just stand there and see their parents do chores. Sharing housework helps make everyone be in good moods. Therefore, start doing housework with children! Housework makes children independent. It’s a study of 207 children. Scientists have found that housework like making meals and caring for plants had something to do with planning, self-controlling and remembering things. Collected from children aged 5 to 13 in mid-2020, the results showed 86 percent of the kids put their dirty clothes in the right place and cleaned up after playing. But only 59 percent made their own beds, just 26 percent sorted clothes after washing and 10 percent helped with cooking. Older children are more likely to do housework than younger ones. Girls do more housework than boys. For example, only 49 percent of the boys but 70 percent of the girls made their own beds. Around 60 percent of the kids, including 50 percent of the boys and 61 percent of the girls, helped do the dishes. Only 34 percent of the kids aged five to seven did this, but 64 percent of those aged 11 to 13 helped. “Children who often cook a family meal may be more likely to be good at other ways of life—like schoolwork or problem-solving,” the lead researcher of the study, Ms. Tepper said. 1.According to the study, what kind of housework are the children most likely to do?
