Step 2 Preparation for the speech 1.Have students look at the thinking map in Starting out and think about whether their ideas about themselves have changed.Guide them to consider aspects like looks，personality，likes and dislikes，and abilities. 2.Provide an outline for the speech.Also offer some language tips：“My understanding of myself has changed...”，“I used to...，but now I can...”，etc. 3.Let students organise their ideas and start preparing their speeches.They can use useful expressions or sentences from this unit.Walk around to offer help if students have difficulties. Step 3 Speech presentation and voting 1.Have students practise their speeches in pairs first.They can listen to each other and give suggestions on pronunciation，expression，and content. 2.Invite students to give their speeches to the class one by one.Encourage the audience to listen carefully and take notes. 3.After all the speeches，vote on the best three speeches.Explain the voting criteria，such as content，language use，and presentation skills.
