Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Ask students to think about their own school life and share some interesting things that happened at school.
Step 2 Pre⁃reading
1.Show the pictures of Nancy and Tomoya on the screen.Let students look at the pictures and predict what their school life might be like.
2.Present the pre⁃reading questions.Ask students to read the questions carefully and think about the answers.Then let them share their ideas with their partners.
Step 3 While⁃reading
1.Extensive reading
Ask students to read the two blog posts quickly to get the general idea.Then ask them to answer some simple questions.
2.Intensive reading
Let students read the blog posts again carefully.Ask them to underline the sentences that describe the features of Nancy’s and Tomoya’s schools.After that,ask students to complete the table about Nancy’s and Tomoya’s schools in Part A.
3.Work on B
(1)Ask students to read the blog posts again and write a “T” if a sentence is true or an “F” if it is false.Then correct the false one(s).
(2)Check the answers together and let students explain their reasons.
Step 4 Post⁃reading
1.Ask students to work in groups.Each student should introduce the school life of either Nancy or Tomoya in the group.
2.Select one or two groups to share with the whole class.Encourage other students to listen carefully and ask questions.
◇教学反思◇
本课时通过多种阅读活动,学生能够较好地理解文章内容,掌握描述学校生活的相关表达。但在理解长难句时,部分学生仍存在困难,后续教学中应加强长难句分析的指导和练习,提升学生的阅读理解能力。同时,可以引导学生对不同国家的学校生活进行对比分析,加深对文章的理解。
