◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Ask students to think about their best friends and share some basic information about them,such as “Who is your best friend?”“What does he/she look like?”
Step 2 Pre⁃reading
1.Show the pictures of Betty and Max on the screen.Let students look at the pictures and predict what the articles might be about.
2.Present the pre⁃reading questions.Ask students to read the questions carefully and think about the answers.Then let them share their ideas with their partners.
Step 3 While⁃reading
1.Extensive reading
Ask students to read the two articles quickly to get the general idea.Then ask them to answer some simple questions.
2.Intensive reading
Let students read the articles again carefully.Ask them to underline the sentences that describe Betty’s and Max’s looks,qualities and things they do.
3.Work on A
(1)Let students complete the profiles of Betty and Max with the information in the articles.
(2)Check the answers together and make sure students understand the details.
4.Work on B
(1)Ask students to read the two articles again and answer the questions below.
(2)Then check the answers and let students explain their reasons.
Step 4 Post⁃reading
1.Ask students to work in groups.Each student should introduce their best friend in the group,using the words and expressions they learnt from the articles.
2.Select one or two groups to introduce their best friends to the whole class.Encourage other students to listen carefully and ask questions.
◇教学反思◇
本课时通过多种阅读活动,学生能够较好地理解文章内容,掌握描述朋友的相关表达。但在阅读长难句时,部分学生仍存在理解困难,后续教学中应加强长难句分析的指导和练习,提升学生的阅读理解能力。
