A Fable Story in China
Long long ago, Yu Gong and his family lived in the mountains that blocked their way in and out. The majority of the villagers were quite upset about this dilemma. To facilitate movement for themselves and future generations, Yu Gong, approaching his 90s, was determined to remove the mountains. Although some people adopted a passive attitude towards it, Yu Gong didn’t give up. With the assistance of his family, he always stuck to his principles and dug stones in the mountains without complaint. In the end, the Jade Emperor was touched by Yu Gong’s perseverance and helped move the mountains away.
