1.practise doing sth.意为“练习做某事”。
2.come true 意为“实现”,其主语通常是wish、dream、plan等,其后不能再接宾语。
3.until 意为“直到……为止”。not...until 意为“直到……才”。
4.alone 与lonely 的区别如下:
(1)alone作形容词时,意为“独自一人”,只用作表语;用作副词时,表示“独自地,单独地”。
(2) lonely作形容词,意为“孤独的,寂寞的”,带有感情色彩。
5.be unable to do sth.意为“不能做某事”,unable是able的反义词,可以用be not able to do sth.替换。
6.on time意为“按时;准时”,与in time区别如下:
on time
指在规定时间之内完成某事,意为“准时;按时”。例如:
Please finish your homework on time.请按时完成你们的作业。
in time
指正赶上或恰在需要的时候完成某事,意为“及时”。例如:
