(一)情态动词can/could的用法
情态动词can/could的用法
定义
情态动词表示说话人对某一动作或状态的态度,或表示主观设想。情态动词不能单独作谓语动词,后接动词原形。情态动词没有人称和数的变化(have to 除外)。
基本用法
can
1. 表示体力或脑力方面的能力,也表示根据客观条件能做某事的能力,意为 “能够,会”。I can ride a bike.
2. 表示请求或许可,意为 “可以”。Can I use your computer?
肯定回答: Sure; Yes, I/you can; Of course; Certainly; No problem; OK...
否定回答: Sorry, I/you can't. I have to...; I'm afraid I/you can't. I must...
3. 表示推测,意为 “可能”,但当 can 表示猜测或怀疑时,只用于疑问句和否定句中。He can't be only five.
基本用法
could
1. 是 can 的过去式,表示过去有能力或过去的可能性,意为 “能够,会”。He said he could swim very well when he was a child.
2. 委婉地请求别人做某事。或者委婉地表示请求别人允许自己做某事。
常用句型:
Could you (please) do sth.? Could you please sweep the floor?

Could 与 Can 的区别
1. 表示能力
can 用于表示现在的能力,而 could 用于表示过去的能力。
2. 表示可能性

3. 表示请求或许可
can 和 could 都可以用于表示请求或许可,但 could 的语气更加委婉和礼貌。
