主题语境三|个人成长 主题阅读训练(一) 认识自我 Ⅰ.阅读理解 A (2025·凉山州模拟)My name is Nick and I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, and it was a shock to my parents that I arrived without arms.My parents did their very best to keep me in the mainstream school system and give me every opportunity to live to the fullest. We later moved to Brisbane, Australia. At age eight, I could not see a bright future ahead and I became depressed. When I was ten years old, I had intended to end my life, but I realized that I did not want to leave my loved ones with the burden and guilt that would result from this.I could not do that to them. Such silly idea never occurred to me again in my entire childhood, but I did have ups and downs. At age thirteen I hurt my foot, which I used for many things like typing, writing and swimming. That injury made me realize that I need to be more thankful for my abilities and less focused on my disabilities. A cleaner at my high school inspired me to start speaking about my faith and overcoming adversity when I was seventeen. Then, I found myself in front of three hundred sophomore (grade 10) students and I was very nervous. My knees were shaking.Within the first three minutes of my talk, half the girls were crying, and most of the boys were struggling to hold their emotions together. One girl in particular was sobbing very hard.We all looked at her and she put her hand up.She said, “I am so sorry to interrupt, but can I come up and hug you? ” She came and hugged me in front of everyone, and whispered in my ear, “Thank you, thank you, thank you.No one has ever told me that they loved me and that I am beautiful the way I am.” Her gratitude inspired me to go across 44 countries and speak 2,000 times.I realized that we all need love and hope. I spoke on motivational topics after creating the company “Attitude is Altitude” to spread my messages of faith and hope around the world. Dream big, my friend and never give up.We all make mistakes, but none of us are mistakes.Take one day at a time.Embrace the positive attitudes, perspectives (思考方法), principles and truths I share, and you too will overcome whatever obstacles come your way. 1.Nick first became depressed when .  A.he realized he was quite different from others B.he found there was faint light in his future C.he sensed heavy burden from his parents D.he felt he had no one accompanying him 2.Which of the following made Nick more grateful? D.A talk with his classmates. 3.The girl mentioned in the passage wanted to hug Nick because .  A.she wanted to show her love to him B.she felt sympathy about Nick’s disability C.Nick moved her with some encouraging words D.she was sad that Nick could never pull through 4.What does the author want to convey? A.With a positive attitude, any dream can be achieved. B.By focusing on our disabilities, we can overcome them. C.Those disabled can live as normally as common people. D.We should focus on what we can do, not what we can’t. B (2025·广州一模)There’s a classic short story in which a young man travels years ahead and meets his future self.Narratives like this have always been related to science fiction. But what if you could meet your future self? I’m a psychologist and professor. My research over the past 15 years isn’t far from this theme.I’ve largely focused on how people think about and relate to their future selves, and explored the reasons why we have such a hard time making long⁃term decisions. In my research, I’ve learnt that we often imagine our future selves like strangers, which can impede us in making long⁃term choices. One way to bridge the emotional gap is to think of future selves in more concrete and vivid ways, like writing letters to and from one’s future self, which can strengthen the connection between current and future selves. Admittedly, having people engage in an imagined conversation is a far cry from actually meeting one’s future self. But it’s believed that far richer interactions may happen in the near future through artificial intelligence (AI).It wouldn’t be predicting exactly what choices you’d make. It’d be more about showing your potential, based on the lives of people similar to you: not just one possible life for you, but rather, the most possible life path for you.Such interactions could offer valuable insights into our potential future selves.  So, to return to my original question: if you could time⁃travel to meet your future self, what aspects of your life would you want to know more about? I realized, through thorough reflections, that the most powerful questions would be ones that helped me make better choices today — questions exploring personal growth, regrets and unfulfilled actions. Actually, you don’t need to wait for time travel or advanced AI for answers that you can act on.Through my research, I’ve learnt that simply taking a bit of time to picture this meeting can help you make better choices now.All you need is a little imagination, and the willingness to put yourself in the shoes of a person you currently treat as a stranger. 5.Why is it difficult for people to make long⁃term decisions according to the author? A.Technology for time travel is not available. B.Strangers cannot help with decision⁃making. C.Writing letters to one’s future self is impractical. D.People find it hard to connect with their distant selves. 6.What does the underlined phrase “a far cry from” mean in paragraph 3? A.contradictory to B.very different from C.not as convenient as D.less popular than 7.Which question would the author most likely ask his future self? A.Why hasn’t my hard work ever paid off? B.What can AI do to help people become better persons? C.If given the chance, what would you have done differently? D.How can I succeed without going through all the difficulties in life? 8.Which of the following is the most suitable title for the text? A.Time travel: What if you met your future self? B.My research: How do people view their future selves? C.Emotional gap: Why can’t we talk with our future selves? D.Artificial intelligence: Is it possible to meet your future self? Ⅱ.阅读七选五 精品课件·名师析题 (2025·日照一模)No matter how friendly your tone is or how honey⁃sweet you are in a conversation, when you start your sentences with one of these words (or both), the message to your recipient is “You are wrong.” 9 They are “No” and “But”.  These words don’t say, “Let’s discuss this” or “I’d love to hear what you think about this” to people. They say, “You are wrong and I am right.” If your conversation companion is also eager to win at any cost, you will have a potential battle on your hands. The result? 10   Are you interested in a little test to see how competitive your co⁃workers are? Try this. For one week, keep a scorecard of how many times each person uses “No” or “But” to start a sentence. 11 And, if you drill a little deeper, you’ll see patterns emerge. For instance, some people use these words to gain power. You’ll see how much people dislike it, consciously or not, and how it kills rather than opens up discussions.   12 Practically without even thinking, I keep count of their use of these two little words. It’s such an important indicator! If the numbers pile up in an initial meeting with a client, I’ll interrupt him or her and say, “We’ve been talking for almost an hour now, and do you realize that you have responded 17 times with either ‘No’ or ‘But’?”  Stop trying to defend your position and start monitoring how many times you begin remarks with “No” or “But”. 13 For example, “That’s true, but ...” (Meaning: You don’t really think it’s true at all.) Another expression is “Yes, but ...” (Meaning: Prepare to be contradicted.)  A.Why do people like saying this? B.I use this technique with my clients. C.What are these conversation stopping words? D.Nothing more can happen that will be productive. E.It’s human nature to like being accepted and recognized. F.You will be shocked at how frequently these words are used. G.Pay close attention when you use these words in sentences. Ⅲ.完形填空 (2025·安徽省江淮十校联考)I opened the door: the morning dishes weren’t in the sink, and the floor had been cleaned. The pile of junk mail on the counter disappeared, replaced by a single 14 .Then I replayed the casual 15 I had made that morning: “You never helped out around the house ...”  I picked up the letter, 16 his apology and gratitude for everything I did.But when I read the first line, I felt incredibly 17 myself.  “I’m tired of being 18 of not helping around the house.Yesterday, I washed the windows.I also picked up your car from school and took it for an oil change.Did you 19 ?”  I glanced through our 20 windows. My car? She started spending hours surfing the web for coupons, printing them all out to take with her whenever she went shopping.Over the years, she has managed to get some impressive catches.Once, two lamps worth £140 cost her just £35. Two years ago, Ms Hughes also began using cashback apps where you are given money back on items ranging from beers to toiletries. After each shop, she uploads pictures of her receipts, which are then scanned, and money is given back on certain items. Among her other top money⁃saving tips, Ms Hughes recommends taking part in paid online surveys, which have earned her hundreds in discount coupons. She says, “I’ve heard a lot about collecting other people’s abandoned receipts from shopping trolleys to check for missed discounts.I can’t believe how much coupons and cashback apps have helped me.The community does benefit me a lot. There will always be someone on hand to explain how it works.” 1.What does saving money mean to Clair Hughes? A.A Graduate Enjoys Shopping B.A Community Collects Coupons C.A Woman Focuses on Saving Money D.A Shopper Is Famous for Saving Money B (2025·莆田模拟)The year is 1763, and a 7⁃year⁃old Mozart is about to set off on a tour around Europe that will jump⁃start the Mozart legend.Mozart had a trick up his sleeve. When the young Mozart heard a note played — any note — he could immediately identify exactly which note it was.It was an ability now we know as “perfect pitch”, and it seemed to be an example of the mysterious gifts that young geniuses had been born with. But is that really so? Over my years of studying experts in various fields, like Mozart, I have found that there’s no such thing as a predefined ability.Actually, those people all develop their abilities through “deliberate practice”, a purposeful and systematic type of practice that makes it possible for them to do things they otherwise could not.In them, potential is an expandable vessel, shaped by the various things they do throughout their lives. One of my testimonies came from a ten⁃time All⁃Star in the NBA.The All⁃Star’s jump shot was not noticeably better than his teammates’ back in high school; in fact, it was poor. But with hard work and dedication, he transformed his jump shot into one so graceful and natural that people assumed he was born with it. But it doesn’t mean “Just keep working at it, and you’ll get there”.Heartfelt desire and hard work alone will not lead to improved performance. The right sort of practice carried out over a sufficient period of time will lead to improvement.Nothing else. And this is true whether our goal is to become a concert pianist or just play the piano well enough to amuse ourselves, to be the greatest three⁃point shooter or just build ourselves up.Deliberate practice is the gold standard for anyone in any field who wishes to build new skills and abilities. 5.Why is Mozart’s perfect pitch mentioned in paragraph 1? A.To introduce an inborn talent. B.To explain reasons for success. C.To lead in reflection on gifts. D.To define a brilliant trick. 6.Which is the most important in making an expert according to the writer? A.Affection. B.Experience. C.Training. D.Gifts. 7.What does the underlined word “testimonies” in paragraph 3 mean? A.Challenges. B.Proofs. C.Comments. D.Puzzles. 8.Which of the following is the best title for the text? A.Secret of Great Talents B.Born to Stand Out C.A Surprising Discovery D.Start When Young Ⅱ.完形填空 (2025·滁州模拟)The walk I’d plotted was 22 miles to the coast. It is enough to get the legs 9 and the mind cleared. But the real 10 for me was walking to a definite point in our country’s outline.  I was wondering if I’d have the endurance (耐力) and determination to do it.I am, after all, in my late 40s.I 11 the coast at 7: 00 am.I was, for the day, an arrow. My line of flight was as straight and short as I could make it.   12 the five⁃hour mark, I was in a good state of body and mind. The 13 of the usual routine had been eased by daydreams. From this point on, the 14 seemed to change. The banks on either side were larger, and the grasses longer, even though the sea was still miles off.  Things were getting 15 .Despite feeling like I was nearly“there”, I still had four miles to go.I was hurting my knees.I 16 the painkillers down with my secret weapon: coffee.Studies have shown caffeine 17 endurance and it kept me going.  Try as I might, I still couldn’t see my walk’s end.I could even smell a(n) 18 in the air, but the horizon remained 19 in salt marsh (盐沼地).Then, almost without realizing it, I was“there”.  Where I had hoped to see the 20 , I saw salt marsh, like the chocolate milkshake of the North Sea!  Feeling like a bit of a fool, I headed down into the nearest marsh and left my boot prints in the mud.The seven⁃and⁃a⁃half⁃hour walk had hurt my 21 , but I’d acted on an old idea, done it, and 22 it off my list.I was now free to think of new ones and move on, in this dawn of possibilities we all face.Life is too short to let ideas stagnate (停滞); now’s the time to turn them to 23 .  9.A.aching B.relaxing C.bending D.recovering 10.A.excuse B.move C.draw D.trick 11.A.settled in B.set about C.arrived at D.left for 12.A.Recognizing B.Approaching C.Ignoring D.Missing 13.A.inconvenience B.comfort C.boredom D.peace 14.A.landscape B.weather C.shape D.spirits 15.A.flatter B.better C.stranger D.wilder 16.A.put B.washed C.broke D.cooled 17.A.reduces B.controls C.boosts D.maintains 18.A.sweetness B.fragrance C.saltiness D.bitterness 19.A.updated B.locked C.broadened D.limited 20.A.sea B.horizon C.land D.forest 21.A.expectations B.feelings C.arms D.knees 22.A.crossed B.shown C.shaken D.turned 23.A.curiosity B.reality C.imagination D.destination Ⅲ.语法填空 (2025·雅安模拟)On November 14th, 2022, the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics presented their official mascots (吉祥物) — the Phryges. The cartoonish 1 (image) are small cone⁃shaped caps.Just like the 2 (nation) flag of France, Phryges are in red, white and blue colors.Plus, the golden Paris 2024 logo 3 (print) across their chests. The difference 4 the two mascots is that the Paralympic Phryge wears 5 artificial leg that goes to the knee. The Paralympic committee wants 6 (express) that with the help of man⁃made devices, disabled people can stand up from 7 (they) wheelchairs and run as fast as lightning.  The two mascots share a motto of “Alone we go faster, but together we go 8 (far).” The Olympic Phryge is described as “skilled in using strategies and 9 (have) a calculating brain”, while the Paralympic one is “open, natural and full of energy and enthusiasm”.  The design of the Phryges was inspired by small Phrygian caps, an item of clothing 10 dates back to ancient times and has been part of French history for centuries.Nowadays, the Phrygian cap has become a French symbol of freedom.  主题阅读训练(三) 欣赏自我 Ⅰ.阅读理解 A (2025·三门峡模拟)“Oh, but it’s okay for you, you’re really confident,” a friend says.As a journalist, I’ve been to war zones, interviewed politicians, and delivered after⁃dinner speeches. But deep down, these occasions are a struggle. While I can make up a game face when needed, the common day⁃to⁃day situation can leave me uncomfortable.I’ll do anything to avoid making phone calls by booking online or ordering takeaways via apps.I’ve spent years longing for the day when those feelings disappear. That day may have come, thanks to a new book. When Viv Groskop decided on a career change from journalist to stand⁃up comedian, she knew she’d have to master confidence, so she made it her business to understand it.Since then she’s analysed research, interviewed people, and is sharing everything she’s discovered in a new book, Happy High Status, which is published this month. So what is Happy High Status? The way you feel when everything’s great — the calm, easy confidence that comes with low pressure situations and happy moments. The opposite is how we feel in stressful situations, when — imposter syndrome, doubt about one’s own abilities despite achievements, is at an all⁃time high.“It’s how you are when you’re not questioning who you are. It’s just trying to bring that more relaxed, calm version of yourself out,” explains Groskop. “You don’t need to think that when you have a physical reaction in a pressured situation, there is something wrong with you.The trick is to take away the emotional stories you tell yourself,” she explains.“Yet you have no training as to how to feel confident when you’re doing those things.” Her advice is to take a moment — put your phone down, empty your mind of its inner worry and try to get to the low pressure version of you. Perhaps everything I’ve worried about for so long is just part of being human, and being me, rather than some strange suffering.I’m not going to sweat it quite so much.I’m going to take a deep breath, channel the calmest, most relaxed version of me, and embrace my own Happy High Status. 1.Which is the author’s true self in daily life? A.A confident person. B.A pessimistic person. C.A shy person. D.A sociable person. 2.What is the theme of the book Happy High Status? A.The way to get confidence. B.The importance of being brave. C.The way to pursue a happy life. D.The importance of changing jobs. 3.What can be known about people when they have high imposter syndrome? A.They are in high spirits. B.They believe in themselves. C.They question people around. D.They seem in difficult situations. 4.What is the suggestion from Groskop to deal with stress? A.Trying to stay eased. B.Avoiding physical reaction. C.Expecting less of ourselves. D.Listening to emotional stories. B I’m 52, and as surprising as it may seem, I’m a gymnast. In a sport for young girls, I have found an unlikely path to joy. When I enter the gym, no matter how much stress I might be feeling, my mind clears and I forget my life.I think of nothing but what I am doing. When I was 9, I went every Saturday to a gymnastic academy. The coach had gray hair and wore ballet shoes and had boundless enthusiasm. He would say, “You are going to be a gymnast.” And I believed him.I vividly remember the first time I did a round⁃off back handspring (后手翻) by myself, the weightlessness of it.I lived for Saturday mornings.I only ever did gymnastics recreationally — I didn’t even know real gyms existed — but I always loved it. That long dormant (蛰伏的) love came roaring back in my forties. It happened in an instant, at parents’ day for my daughter’s beginning gymnastics class. The bars were just sitting there, and I had this overwhelming urge to grab hold and swing. But I couldn’t make it through the warm⁃up at the first adult class I went.I felt bad during training.I was the oldest person there. But that spark of memory glowed with possibility.I went back to class again, and again. It was hard and it was humbling. But soon I was doing back handsprings like I used to. There is nothing like the thrill of getting a new skill, that combination of speed, mechanics, timing, muscles, courage. There is an ineffable (不可言喻的) element, too, something like faith.By the time we reach middle age, most of us have had to deal with our fair share of unwelcome surprises, like illness, family crisis or the death of a beloved parent. But gymnastics has brought the most delightful surprises — I keep getting better, surpassing what I thought were limits, amazing myself by what I can do.At a time in life when many things feel like they are sliding down the slope towards old, gymnastics is a gift of fluency and competence in motion.I’m in the best shape of my life.I’m a better gymnast now than I was at 16. 5.What inspired the author to love gymnastics when she was young? A.Her Saturday routine. B.The coach’s enthusiasm. C.Her wish to be a gymnast. D.Pleasure from gymnastics. 6.What made the author go back to gymnastic classes in her forties? A.Her duty as a responsible parent. B.The desire to fit in with her daughter. C.The strong urge to play with the bars. D.Her sweet memory of doing gymnastics. 7.Which of the following can describe the author’s personality? A.Faithful and easy⁃going. B.Humble and competent. C.Passionate and persistent. D.Ambitious and considerate. 8.What does the text mainly talk about? A.The dream of a sportswoman. B.A middle⁃aged person’s pursuit. C.The story of a successful gymnast. D.A sport⁃lover’s unusual experience. Ⅱ.阅读七选五 How to have an attractive personality Demonstrating an attractive personality is key to making friends and having lasting relationships. These traits (特性) give you the ability to inspire and fascinate others, making others more drawn to you as a result. Listen to others. 9 Instead of responding to a text, opening an email, or thinking about your next meal, pay attention to what the other person is saying.Show them you’re listening and interested by commenting on the story or asking questions.  Speak sincerely. No one likes to be cheated. 10 If you can’t commit to something, it’s better to be honest about it than to have to tell them at the last minute that you can’t make it.When people ask for your opinion, you should be honest.   11 You should always say what you believe in, be willing to take risks, and have the ability to admit your mistake without being worried about what other people will think.Doing this shows that you have self⁃confidence. This helps create an attractive personality.  Know “how” vs “what”.How you say things is arguably more important than what you say.If you try to give someone a genuine compliment, but he or she thinks you say it with a sarcastic undertone (弦外之音), your compliment won’t mean a thing. 12 If you notice that people often take things you say the wrong way, there’s a good chance you can change how you speak.Ask your friends to make you aware of the way you’re coming across.  Show enthusiasm for everything.Even if something makes you slightly uncomfortable, handle it with a smile on your face, an open mind, and a sense of humor. Not every day is going to be perfect, but being enthusiastic can help you accomplish anything. 13   A.Tell people the truth. B.You may make things bad. C.Be aware of the way you speak. D.Have confidence in how you speak and act. E.When you act this way, people will love being around you. F.Asking questions is important when it comes to confidence. G.Listening is a trait that is often forgotten in today’s society. Ⅲ.语法填空 I can well remember that I was once asked to deliver a speech titled “A Real Test in My Life” before the whole class at the age of 9! You can imagine how 1 (terrible) shy I was with so many eyes 2 (fix) upon me. I had no 3 (choose) but to prepare for it, though.  First of all, I was to draft the speech, which was just a piece of cake for me, a good writer. But the hardest part 4 (lie) in my oral presentation from my memory — for to read from the paper was not allowed. I stood on the platform with my legs trembling and my mind blank, and I clearly knew that I 5 (start) my speech. But my listeners were waiting patiently without any signs of rushing me. Gradually I found myself back, 6 (deliver) my speech with difficulty. After what seemed to be a hundred years, I found my audience applauding — I made 7 ! From then on, my fear of talking before an audience disappeared.  Actually with my 8 (confident) building up, I now turn out to be a great speaker. Looking back, I know the greatest difficulty on our way 9 success is our fear. Overcome it 10 we will be able to achieve our goals. An Unforgettable Video⁃clip Story Recently I participated in a contest of online video⁃clip making, which was themed with “Model Students in New Era”. Ⅱ.读后续写 精品课件·名师析题 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 I am the kind of person who is shy and doesn’t express himself much among others. I spend a significant amount of time on introspection (内省). I lack the ease to engage in conversations with others. But I find this, on the other hand, can be an advantage. Once, as a school boy, I wondered if I, such an introverted (内向的) person, would be considered eccentric (古怪的). And I was even afraid that I could possibly get nowhere in my study. I went to school, where I was just an average student and struggled with shyness. My parents had high expectations, hoping I would finally be able to secure the first position at the end of the sixth grade. However, achieving that was no easy job. Given the keen competition between classmates and my then situation, it was challenging to stand out. I inquired with my friend, Tom, who consistently ranked first, and he revealed that his two aunts had been helping him, providing tutoring support. Asking for help was never easy for me; my shyness stopped me from seeking assistance. I believed that I had to depend on myself — it was my sole responsibility to learn and educate myself. This mindset surprisingly ignited (激发) a race within me to claim the top position in my class. However, I realized there were barriers on my path — several subjects troubled me. And I understood that achieving the first position would take a couple of years of hard work. I embarked on (开始) this journey when I was in the fourth grade. Attention focused in class and more time spent after class, I found I was gradually on the right track. By the fifth grade, work on my study was progressing steadily and improvement was obvious. Even Tom showed his surprise or I could say envy. But I knew my performance in writing still needed improving. And I knew, though without additional support, I could count on myself. 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式作答。 The journey continued into the sixth grade. The day arrived when the headmaster declared the exam results.     19 / 19 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
