第3课时 主题阅读课 目录 CONTENTS 一、精读阅读理解——提素养 二、精析读后续写——启思维 课时作业(三) 一、精读阅读理解——提素养 (2021·全国乙卷· 阅读理解C篇)You've heard that plastic is polluting the oceans — between 4.8 and 12.7 million tonnes enter ocean ecosystems every year. But does one plastic straw or cup really make a difference? Artist Benjamin Von Wong wants you to know that it does. He builds massive sculptures out of plastic garbage, forcing viewers to re-examine their relationship to single-use plastic products. At the beginning of the year, the artist built a piece called “Strawpocalypse,” a pair of 10-foot-tall plastic waves, frozen mid-crash. Made of 168,000 plastic straws collected from several volunteer beach cleanups, the sculpture made its first appearance at the Estella Place shopping center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Just 9% of global plastic waste is recycled. Plastic straws are by no means the biggest source (来源) of plastic pollution, but they've recently come under fire because most people don't need them to drink with and, because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled. Every straw that's part of Von Wong's artwork likely came from a drink that someone used for only a few minutes. Once the drink is gone, the straw will take centuries to disappear. In a piece from 2018, Von Wong wanted to illustrate (说明) a specific statistic: Every 60 seconds, a truckload's worth of plastic enters the ocean. For this work, titled “Truckload of Plastic,” Von Wong and a group of volunteers collected more than 10,000 pieces of plastic, which were then tied together to look like they'd been dumped (倾倒) from a truck all at once. Von Wong hopes that his work will also help pressure big companies to reduce their plastic footprint. 1.What are Von Wong's artworks intended for? A.Beautifying the city he lives in. B.Introducing eco-friendly products. C.Drawing public attention to plastic waste. D.Reducing garbage on the beach. √ 2.Why does the author discuss plastic straws in paragraph 3? A.To show the difficulty of their recycling. B.To explain why they are useful. C.To voice his views on modern art. D.To find a substitute for them. 第二句和最后一句也分别提到“they cannot be recycled”和“the straw will take centuries to disappear”,意在说明塑料吸管很难回收利用。 √ 3.What effect would “Truckload of Plastic” have on viewers? A.Calming. B.Disturbing. C.Refreshing. D.Challenging. √ 4.Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A.Artists' Opinions on Plastic Safety B.Media Interest in Contemporary Art C.Responsibility Demanded of Big Companies D.Ocean Plastics Transformed into Sculptures 因境辨义(写出下列蓝体词在文中的词性及含义) ①(派生词)He builds massive sculptures out of plastic garbage, forcing viewers to re-examine their relationship to singleuse plastic products. ________________________ ②(一词多义)Just 9% of global plastic waste is recycled. ____________________ ③(熟词生义)Von Wong hopes that his work will also help pressure big companies to reduce their plastic footprint.________;_______ v. 词块积累(写出下列词块在文中的汉语意思) ①make a difference ________________ ②make its first appearance __________ ③by no means _____ ④come under fire _____________________ ⑤look like ____________ ⑥all at once __________________ 有影响,起作用 首次亮相 绝不 受到攻击,受到批评 看起来像 突然,忽然;一起 三、析难句,破解阅读障碍 1.Plastic straws are by no means the biggest source (来源) of plastic pollution, but they've recently come under fire because most people don't need them to drink with and, because of their small size and weight, they cannot be recycled. but and 第一个because 2.Every straw that's part of Von Wong's artwork likely came from a drink that someone used for only a few minutes. that 3.For this work, titled “Truckload of Plastic,” Von Wong and a group of volunteers collected more than 10,000 pieces of plastic, which were then tied together to look like they'd been dumped (倾倒) from a truck all at once. which 4.Von Wong hopes that his work will also help pressure big companies to reduce their plastic footprint. [1] The air was getting cooler.❶ The leaves were starting to fall from the trees that lined the streets.❷ As Nicole walked from school to the small bakery shop her mother had just started, she buttoned her sweater and looked up into the blue sky.❸ Her mother expected her to walk the three blocks from school, but she was always standing on the steps of her bakery shop, waving and waiting for Nicole. [2] Nicole always told about her day as her mom poured a small glass of milk. After her snack, Nicole completed her homework and then was allowed to help in the bakery. Recently, her mother taught her how to frost (上糖霜) and decorate cupcakes. Nicole loved to squeeze the colorful frosting through the tube onto the tops of cakes.❹ She liked hearing the customers' reactions to her designs. [3] For as long as Nicole could remember, she loved art. She impressed her teachers every year with watercolor paintings and clay sculptures. She had won the school's art contest two years in a row and was working on this year's project when she began decorating cupcakes. Nicole had never considered baking to be an art form until now. She could see how her complex and imaginative creations were inspiring to her mother's customers. [4] Nicole was struggling and having a difficult time thinking of something original for this year's art contest. The rules read that the project simply had to be created entirely by the student, without any adult help. There were no restrictions on size or materials. As she sat and decorated a chocolate cupcake with small animal shapes for a child's birthday party,Nicole had an incredible idea. —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— On the night of the art show, Nicole's oversized cupcake brought surprised looks from her friends, teachers, and the contest judges. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ [高分写作指导] 一、读文路径 1. 抓住5W1H who ①______ (主要人物), Nicole's mother, her teacher, her customers. what Nicole had no idea when she wanted to join in this year's ②_________. when Before the art contest. where In the small bakery shop. why Nicole had never considered ③__________ to be an art form until now. how Nicole had an incredible idea when she decorated a ④_________ _________with small animal shapes. 1:For as long as Nicole could remember, she loved art.(暗示续写部分作者会把艺术与制作蛋糕结合起来) 伏笔2:The rules read ... without any adult help. 3:There were no restrictions on size or materials. 构思续写内容(运用“5所”构思) 第一段: ①What was Nicole's idea? (所见——接续首句) ②What would Nicole do according to the rule? (根据原文伏笔2提出问题:所做——推进情节) ③What did Nicole do to prepare for the art show?(所做——衔接下文) 第二段: ④How did Nicole feel when she explained her creative process? (根据原文伏笔1提出问题:所感——接续首句) ⑤How did the judges feel about her creation? (所感——推进情节) ⑥What was others' response?(所感——故事结尾) 4. Nicole spent hours very carefully measuring the ingredients and her first batch of cupcakes turned out perfect. She doubled the flour, eggs and milk and made one giant cupcake in a large round pan. She frosted the giant cupcake and then went to work. (自然式结尾)After Nicole's giant cupcake earned her the first prize, her mother cut and served her art project. Everyone agreed that it tasted as good as it looked. (感悟式结尾)Through this event, Nicole realized that as long as you love art, you will achieve something in a way. 2.做到衔接照应全文(请完成文章续写) As she sat and decorated a chocolate cupcake with small animal shapes for a child's birthday party, Nicole had an incredible idea. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “That's it!” she said out loud. The next day after school, she asked her mother to teach her how to make cupcakes and frosting. If the rules read that the entire project had to be made without help, she would have to do it all by herself. (对应伏笔2) Nicole spent hours very carefully measuring the ingredients and her first batch of cupcakes turned out perfect. She doubled the flour, eggs and milk and made one giant cupcake in a large round pan. (对应伏笔3) She frosted the giant cupcake and then went to work. (动作描写) On the night of the art show, Nicole's oversized cupcake brought surprised looks from her friends, teachers, and the contest judges. Nicole beamed with pride as she explained her creative process, emphasizing the harmony of art and baking in her project. (对应伏笔1) The judges were impressed not only by the technical skills but also by the innovative and practical combination of art form and creativity. How delicious the baked cupcake was! After Nicole's giant cupcake earned her the first prize, her mother cut and served her art project. Everyone agreed that it tasted as good as it looked. 阅读理解 (2025·赤峰模拟)The Tsinghua University Art Museum in Beijing houses a rich collection of old artworks, including some Qing Dynasty portraits. Among them, the portrait of Su Wu, a Chinese diplomat in the Western Han Dynasty some 2,100 years ago, shows a unique way of using lines by the artist Ren Bonian. “When you look at the lines on his robe, it's like painting a rock. They are very hard and straight, well-defined lines,” explained art curator and columnist Wang Jia. Chinese portraits focus on presenting the inner spirit of their subjects rather than aiming for a realistic depiction like their western counterparts. Artists work with lines and space to make the form show the subject's personality. The production process of Chinese portraits also varied in contrast to those made in the West. In the history of Chinese art, scholarly painters were often quite shy when it came to recording images of themselves. They preferred to use calligraphy and landscape painting to express their thoughts and aspirations. As China ushered in the 20th century, trends in modern Western art inspired many Chinese masters, and this was often reflected in their self-portraits. Wen Ling, a contemporary artist, represents an entirely new generation of artists compared to the styles and works of his predecessors (前辈). In 2010, he began implementing his so-called “experience-unwinding” practices in his works, which have given him many new perspectives from which to view the world. Different cultural and historical backgrounds generate paintings with varied themes, techniques and styles. But when we put those differences aside, portrait paintings offer a visual account of how artists view others as well as themselves, and how human consciousness has developed over time. 1.What may be one of the characters of Su Wu? A.Carefree. B.Difficult. C.Resolved. D.Cold-hearted. 根据第一段中“When you look at the lines on his robe, it's like painting a rock. They are very hard and straight, well-defined lines”可推知,苏武的性格可能是意志坚定、坚决的。 √ 2.What may be the difference between Chinese and Western portrait artists? A.Chinese artists highlight the internal world of their subjects, while Western artists aim for external description. B.Chinese artists prioritize realistic likeness, while Western artists focus on inner spirit. C.Both Chinese and Western artists equally prioritize realism and inner spirit. D.Chinese artists only paint landscapes, while Western artists focus solely on portraits. 根据第二段中“Chinese portraits focus on presenting the inner spirit of their subjects rather than aiming for a realistic depiction like their western counterparts.” 3.What can we learn from paragraphs 3 and 4? A.Chinese artists began to combine traditional techniques with Western influences. B.Chinese artists started to embrace modern Western art tendency. C.Chinese artists stopped painting self-portraits altogether and focused on calligraphy. D.Chinese artists became more focused on light and shade. √ 4.What can be the best title of this text? A.Differences between Chinese and Western artists B.The evolution of portrait painting in China C.A focus on creating realistic depictions of historical figures D.Unraveling the mysteries of Chinese and Western portrait paintings √ 解析:标题归纳题。 (2025·义乌模拟)Doubts clouded my mind as I walked into that new world, Parsons School of Design. But fate had a plan, introducing me to Kathleen, who would become my guiding light. I remember feeling out of place on my first day at Parsons, questioning everything from my outfit to my abilities. As I walked in and scanned the classroom, my vision sharply stopped on one person. Wow! She looked cool. I plopped myself down next to her and introduced myself as Dorri, thrilled when she smiled and said, “Hi! I'm Kathleen.” That was all it took. What a difference Kathleen made in my school life! Her confidence, discipline, and responsibility were worlds away from my shaky, wild, and lazy nature. We became inseparable, signing up for the same classes, and I was always trying to earn her approval. One day the homework assignment was to create an exciting illustration based on a pair of shoes. Bursting with ideas, I pulled out my favorite pair of antique thrift shop “old-lady shoes” and poured my heart into the project. Proud of my work, I rushed to Kathleen's apartment to show her my creation, holding up my paper with glowing confidence. But Kathleen's reaction was unexpected, crushing my pride with a single question: “Is that the only drawing you did?” “Well, yes,” I responded sheepishly, “Why?” “Come on,” she said. “Let's go to Washington Square Park and really do some drawings.” I was puzzled, but when she led, I willingly followed, with my pad tucked under my arm. As we made our way to the park, Kathleen enthusiastically talked about form, content, and composition and stressed the significance of observing subjects closely. She described the shoes in my drawing as the kind worn by elderly women who frequent the park to feed pigeons. That moment, she taught me to look closely and recreate diligently. At the park, Kathleen pointed to a bench with a napping old woman and said, “Here, draw her shoes repeatedly.” _____________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next day was the class feedback session.___________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 参考范文: At the park, Kathleen pointed to a bench with a napping old woman and said, “Here, draw her shoes repeatedly.” Eagerly, I settled onto a nearby bench, my sketchpad resting on my lap and pencil ready to capture the old woman's shoes. With every pencil stroke, I focused on every detail I would have overlooked before — the worn leather, the frayed laces and the faded color. As I sketched, it felt like I was uncovering stories of a life well-lived, the rest of the world fading into the background. Kathleen, watching over my shoulder, offered tips and new angles to consider. The afternoon sun began to set, casting golden light over my paper, as Kathleen and I shared thoughts about our creations, our laughter mingling with the soft rustle of leaves. The next day was the class feedback session. As I presented my drawings, anticipation curled in my heart. Initially, a hush fell over the room, everyone's attention, every pair of eyes fixed on the work I had poured my heart into. The teacher, surprised, nodded approvingly after studying my pieces. Soon the air buzzed with my classmates' discussion, describing my work as “sensitive”, “accurate” and “beautifully stylized”. Each word warmed my heart. Glancing over at Kathleen, I caught her eye, and she offered me a wink and a loving smile. At that moment, I knew I had drawn an illustration to be proud of, one that touched something universally human and one reflecting the journey Kathleen and I shared — a journey of art, friendship, and mutual appreciation. $$
