一、 概念
宾语从句用一个完整的句子来代替原来简单句中动词或介词后面的名词/代词(即宾语)的位置,充当整个句子的宾语。这个充当宾语的句子就叫宾语从句。

引导词的选择取决于宾语从句本身的意思和结构。主要有三类:
1. that
用法: 当宾语从句是陈述句(表达一个事实或观点)时,用 that 引导。
含义: that 本身在从句中没有实际意义,也不充当任何句子成分。在口语和非正式文体中常常可以省略。

2. if 或 whether
用法: 当宾语从句是一般疑问句(需要用“是”或“否”来回答)时,用 if 或 whether 引导,表示“是否”。
含义: if 和 whether 在从句中不充当成分,但有实际意义(“是否”),不能省略。
区别 (初中重点):
if 更常用,更口语化。
whether 更正式。在以下情况通常用 whether:
与 or not 连用时:I wonder whether he will come or not. (我想知道他是否会来。)
在介词后面时:It depends on whether it rains. (这取决于是否下雨。)
在不定式前面时:He doesn't know whether to go or stay. (他不知道是去还是留。)

四、 语序
无论原来的疑问句是什么语序,宾语从句一律使用 陈述句语序!
陈述句语序: 主语 + 谓语 (+ 宾语/其他成分)
关键点:
助动词 (do, does, did) 在宾语从句中消失。
情态动词 (can, may, must, will, would 等) 保留,但后面用动词原形。
谓语动词的时态根据主句时态和实际情况调整(见下面时态部分)。

五、 时态
宾语从句的时态受主句谓语动词时态的影响,需要遵循一定的呼应规则:
1. 主句谓语是 现在时 (一般现在时、现在进行时、现在完成时等):
从句谓语可以根据实际情况使用任何需要的时态。
例句:
He says that he is busy (now). (他说他现在很忙。) [从句用现在进行时]
She knows that I went to Beijing last week. (她知道我上周去了北京。) [从句用一般过去时]
I think that it will rain tomorrow. (我认为明天会下雨。) [从句用一般将来时]
2. 主句谓语是 过去时 (一般过去时、过去进行时、过去完成时等):
从句谓语通常也要使用相应的过去时态。这是初中阶段最常考的重点!
具体呼应规则:
从句动作与主句动作同时发生 → 从句用 一般过去时 或 过去进行时。
He said that he was busy. (他说他很忙。) [当时忙]
She told me that she was doing her homework. (她告诉我她当时正在做作业。)
从句动作发生在主句动作之前 → 从句用 过去完成时。
