(2025·济宁高二期中)At 21 years of age,Lexie Alford shattered(打破) the world record for the Youngest Person to Travel to Every Country by travelling to all the countries. While her adventures may have looked attractive and exciting on her social media account,Alford faced various difficulties such as visa rejections, financial struggles, and health issues like malaria and food poisoning.
For most people, the barrier to seeing the world is lack of money, but Alford managed to fund her travels largely on her own.She started working multiple jobs and saving everything she had earned since she was 12 years old.Additionally, her mother owns a travel agency and it has helped her find the best deals and book ahead of time, contributing to significant savings on flights and hotels.
As a solo female traveler,Alford prioritized safety when deciding how long to stay in a country,in addition to budget and personal interest. She spent over a month in countries like Egypt and Switzerland, where there was so much she could do and there were ways to make those trips financially reasonable. Then there are some countries like Mali,South Sudan, and Somalia which she would have loved to spend more than a few days exploring, but unfortunately she didn't have the budget to take the proper security precautions necessary to travel throughout those countries safely.Despite experiencing intense loneliness at times,Alford thinks that solo travel is a rewarding experience that everyone should have at least once in their lives.
After her travels,Alford now believes that every problem has a solution if you work hard enough. There are also a lot of sacrifices you have to make if you want to travel the world, but if it's something you're truly passionate about,it only takes courage to pursue it.
4.Which of the following best characterizes Alford's journey to all the countries?

The Hadza huntergatherers of Tanzania live a life that has not changed much over ten thousand years. They have no crops,no house animals,no permanent shelters. In spite of long exposure to agriculturalist groups around them, the Hadza have maintained their lifestyle.
The story of the spread of agriculture is the story of growing population density(密度).Villages formed, then cities, then nations.Agriculture's rise, however, came with a price. It introduced infectious diseases, social inequality, occasional famines(饥荒) and war.Professor Jared Diamond of UCLA(University of California,Los Angeles) has called the adoption of agriculture “the worst mistake in human history”—a mistake from which we have never recovered.
Looking at the Hadza, you can see why he came to this conclusion. They do not engage in warfare. They do not live densely(稠密地) enough to be threatened by an infectious outbreak. They have no known history of famine. The Hadza diet is more stable(稳定的) and varied than that of most of the world's citizens. They live almost entirely free of possessions. They enjoy an extraordinary amount of leisure time,“working”—actively pursuing food—only four to six hours a day.
The chief reason the Hadza have been able to maintain their lifestyle so long is that their homeland is not an inviting place.Recently, however, population growth has brought a flood of people into Hadza lands. The region has generally been viewed by outsiders as unused,a place in need of development. The Hadza, who by nature are not a combative(好战的) people, have almost always moved away instead of fighting.
There are many things to envy about the Hadza, mostly what free spirits they appear to be.Free from schedules, jobs, bosses, bills, traffic, taxes, laws, social duties and money. But who of us could live like them? It's incredibly risky.Medical help is far away. One bad fall from a tree, one bite from a snake, and you're dead. The fact is that it's too late for us to go back to the Hadza lifestyle.Of greater concern is that soon it may be impossible for them to maintain theirs.
12.What does the underlined word “It” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Agriculture's rise.
B.The growth of population.
C.The formation of village.
D.The appearance of a city.
13.What's the characteristic of the Hadza?
A.They are always busy in all seasons.
B.They like fighting with the other nations.
C.They are often in hunger because of fight.
D.They are always leading a free life without fight.
14.What can be learned from the last paragraph?
A.It's convenient for the people of Hadza to get medical care.
B.It's worth visiting the beautiful scenery of the Hadza.
C.Visitors can be welcomed warmly by the people of the Hadza.
D.The author is worried about the current situation of the Hadza.
15.Which is the best title for the text?
A.Agriculture of the Hadza
B.The Unique Hadza Lifestyle
C.The Attractive Diet of the Hadza
D.The Medical Care of the Hadza

Would you like to come together? I'm sure we'll have great fun.
Looking forward to your reply.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Hudson had been looking forward to this trip for weeks. This was more than the usual excitement about endofyear trips. And now, finally, after weeks of expectation,Hudson,Davion,Tasha, and their friends Trey and Justin were at an amusement park, which was home to more roller coasters and games.
They were waiting in line for the scariest roller coaster. In front of them, the coaster rose threateningly out of the ground. From the very beginning, the roller coaster lived up to its name. The black coaster tracks corkscrewed almost immediately. Then, the riders in the yellow cars were given a moment to catch their breath as they were cranked(转动) slowly to the top of a hill. But the relief didn't last long.As soon as the roller coaster cars were over the peak, the track twisted again. And again and again and again.
Glancing at it,Hudson felt his stomach was too tight to say anything at all. This was the scariest roller coaster he had ever seen. But he wasn't about to mention his fear to his friends because they would tell him that he was acting like a little kid,too scared to go on the park's best ride.He felt dorky and awkward standing there. The sea of people between them and the roller coaster was steadily getting smaller.Hudson smiled weakly as his friends cheered when they counted just three rope barriers to go.Then two. Then one.And then they were at the stairs.Davion,Justin, and Trey were nearly jumping up and down with excitement. But Hudson could only hear people screaming, and he couldn't even tell if the screams were because of delight or terror. And he knew, suddenly, that he could not make it.

Paragraph 1:
Without a word,Hudson turned, pushed past the crowd and ran out of the line.Their faces blurred in front of him. He'd made it down the stairs before he stopped to take a breath. Now that his fear and panic had started to fade, and embarrassment was creeping in.“Hey!” Somehow,Tasha was standing in front of him.“It's okay if you are afraid.I get so scared before shows that I can't eat for about two hours before going on stage.” Shocked to hear those words,Hudson stood still without any words. It suddenly hit him that what mattered most was to have fun with his friends.
Paragraph 2:
Just then,he saw his other friends coming, big smiles on their faces. “Are you ready to try with us?” Davion said.Seeing their grins and encouraging eyes,Hudson nodded his head. The moment they got to the stairs, his stomach started to clench again, but he tried to take each step forward. Finally,he got in the car.WHOOSH!Almost without warning, the ride started. It felt like he'd left his heart on the loading platform. He was flying and he heard himself scream as delight spilled out of him.Later when they got out, they took a picture by the ride's sign.It served as a reminder of what was more important to him than fear.
