本册书是上海教育出版社2024版七年级英语新教材(五四学制)的上册。本单元为第四单元,主题为“智能家居”,其话题内容属于新课标“人与社会”范畴中的“和谐家庭与社区生活”内容。本节课为本单元的第一节课,属于听力课型,主要介绍了智能房屋中的一些智能设备、它们的独特功用以及一些语音知识。
Why
通过学习“智能技术”相关的话题内容,能够帮助学生更加了解当代社会的发展,关注科技融入生活后带来的影响,做一个有心人;同时,引导学生思考科技给我们带来的利与弊,培养批判性思维。
How
本单元以参观“家居科技博览会”为主题创造情境,展示了许多已经普及的家居智能设备照片,模拟真实场景,传达视觉信息,引导学生积极联想。本节听力课文本以博览会上“未来之家”宣传单为基础,帮助学生学习新单词,再推进思路,展开介绍智能设备好处的听力对话,逻辑层层递进。
学情分析
本节课所面对的学生是七年级(五四学制),课程的主题内容贴近学生的日常居家生活,很容易引起学生们的兴趣,能够让大家有话可说。学生们之前学习过一些常见家具的单词与内容,所以具有一定的熟悉程度。但是,对于一些新兴智能家居设备的单词了解并不多,且对智能技术的现实利弊话题探讨并不深入,对于听力策略的训练培养也需要锻炼,因此这也是本节课所需要关注的内容。

教学目标
By the end of the class, students will be able to:
1. Language Competence
master keywords, such as “speaker”“camera”“thermostat”“alarm” “strange” and sentence structures like “What smart devices do you like?”“What can ...... do ?” ;
learn some sounds, such as /eɪ/, /aɪ/, /əʊ/ and /aʊ/;
use proper words, pronunciations and structures to make conversations with others to express the functions of smart devices;
2. Thinking Quality
understand the benefits that smart devices give us;
cultivate critical and logical thinking through talking about technology;
3. Cultural Awareness
use technology wisely and rationally;
embrace different ideas and interests from others in conversation;
4. Learning Capacity
grasp some basic listening skills, like predicting, taking notes, and summarizing, to comprehend the passage;
improve the independent learning capacity and cooperative learning capacity.

Bailing and her classmates are reading a leaflet “The house of future”.
T: What information can you get from the leaflet?

While-listening
Activity 1: Listen to the conversation
Set the situation that many students are listening to the speech of the principal of Tech Expo, and show Ss the title of A2.
T: Guess the main idea of her speech.
Listen and answer some basic information.
Listen again to finish A2.
Listen to the tape for the third time to finish A3, and learn some words: alarm, strange.
Activity 2: Pronunciation
Show a poem read by a robot.
Let Ss read the poem quickly to get the main idea.
Predict four sounds’ pronunciations.
T: These sounds match the letters in red here.
Listen to the tape to check your prediction.
Do the exercise:
Put the underlined words into columns.
Listen to the tape for the second time and follow the poem to master these pronunciations.
