If you’re like me and find it hard to spend meaningful time in the gym, VR fitness might be for you. Here are my picks from the apps I have tested: Les Mills BodyCombat: Les Mills BodyCombat is great for beginners with a lot to offer-the works center around punching, squatting, and knee-striking targets. While the update added workouts and a new mixed reality mode showing you the room around you, I still look to other apps and games for variety. It also doesn’t have a “cool down” after the workouts — so I’ll typically switch to another app after my workout to relax. $ 30/one time purchase. FitXR: FitXR is a subscription-based app with a diverse line of workouts. A recent update added Zumba and a mixed reality mode called Slam to a list that includes boxing, combat, high-intensity interval training, sculpt and dance. I enjoy FitXR quite a bit, but it’s not my top recommendation due to the cost, the poor pictures, and some missing mixed-reality options. $3.00/ one time purchase. Supernatural: Supernatural is one of the most popular VR fitness apps. Unsurprisingly, it’s a polished experience with beautiful locations from around the world, popular music you’ll recognize, and energetic trainers with two main workout types — Boxing and Flow. $9.99/ month. Xponential+: Xponential+, the newest offering for Quest platforms, has partnered with other workout studios to bring their workouts to reality. I love how the app brings the workout into your living room by displaying a small version of the trainer on your floor or ceiling when it detects that you’re in a plank, push up, or lying on your back. $9.99/ month — also includes access to workouts via app or web. 21. What do Les Mills BodyCombat and FitXR have in common? A. Both provide mixed reality mode. B. Both are in line with beginners. C. Both provide a “cool down”. D. Both need so much money. 22. Which of the following is true according to the passage? A. Xponential+ makes you train with your coach on the floor or ceiling. B. Supernatural is available for monthly service with dynamic trainers. C. Les Mills BodyCombat has combined other apps with games. D. FitXR can provide high-quality pictures at a low price. 23. Where is this text probably taken from? A. A sports website. B. A tourist brochure. C. An assignment plan. D. A science magazine. A 22. B 23. 根据第二段“While the update added workouts and a new mixed reality mode showing you the room around you (虽然更新增加了锻炼项目和一种新的混合现实模式,可以让你看到周围的房间)”以及第三段“A recent update added Zumba and a mixed reality mode called Slam to a list that includes boxing, combat, high-intensity interval training, sculpt and dance.(最近的一次更新在包括拳击、格斗、高强度间歇训练、塑形和舞蹈的列表中增加了尊巴舞和一种名为Slam的混合现实模式)”可知,Les Mills BodyCombat和FitXR的共同点是都提供了混合现实模式。故选A项。 根据第四段“Supernatural is one of the most popular VR fitness apps. Unsurprisingly, it’s a polished experience with beautiful locations from around the world, popular music you’ll recognize, and energetic trainers with two main workout types — Boxing and Flow. $9.99/ month.(Supernatural是最受欢迎的VR健身应用之一。不出所料,它是一种精心打磨的体验,有来自世界各地的美丽地点、你能认出的流行音乐,以及充满活力的教练,主要有两种锻炼类型——拳击和流动训练。每月9.99美元)”可知,Supernatural每月提供服务且有充满活力的教练。故选B项。 【23题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“ If you’re like me and find it hard to spend meaningful time in the gym, VR fitness might be for you. My mum, a fearless woman, would get strangely nervous on flights. Perhaps the only thing that convinced her to overcome her fears was the chance to piece together our declining bond. Growing up, moments with Mum were painfully short-lived because I spent most time at the boarding school, reuniting only during the holidays. Every year, she would eagerly await my return, which would always lead to constant loving scenes. Those valuable moments were gradually disappearing as I moved away for university. Soon, our relationship became tense. She seemed unable to understand me and her stubborn and old-fashioned advice forced me to shut myself. But the more I pulled away, the more I felt a longing for the bond that had grown so weak. Perhaps Singapore would give us a chance to breathe it back to life. I assumed the immersive exhibits at Art Science Museum would refresh my mother, who was an art student. However, I was surprised when she just turned her nose up at the Bruges Whale, a sculpture using plastic waste to raise awareness about ocean pollution. “It’s art, Mum! Be more appreciative.” I defended. Disheartened by the distance between us, I led her to the kid’s zone. We signed up for a joint sketching activity, hoping that would help us connect. As our creative juices flowed, our faded relationship began to take on the hues (色调) and shades of something sincere and beautiful. “Look!” she excitedly pointed towards a digital screen that displayed our creations. “That one’s ours.” Mum went up and reached out, touching the fish as it moved its tail back and forth in the virtual tank. Looking around, I saw children sharing moments with their parents, and my own childhood flashed back. That rare instance where she let slip an inner innocence and delight at a new experience revealed the little girl in her, who was like me, had lost a vital connection to responsibilities of motherhood. “Our time together was like that of friends,” she remarks now. “You were my mother, and I were a child following you around.” Life has indeed come full circle. 24. Why did the author’s mother agree to take the flight to Singapore? A. She was fearless and adventurous by nature. B She was eager to visit the Art Science Museum. C. She missed her Singapore-based daughter very much. D. She wanted to improve the relationship with the author. 25. What was the mother’s reaction to the sculpture Bruges Whale? A. She was deeply concerned about ocean pollution. B. She thought it was a creative use of plastic waste. C. She showed little interest and seemed unimpressed D. She showed great appreciation for its artistic value. 26. What can we infer from the joint sketching activity in the kid’s zone? A. It was a waste of time for adults. B. It helped the mother regain her identity as an art student. C. It made the author realize her mother’s hidden talent in art. D. It provided an opportunity for the mother and daughter to reconnect. 27. What does the last paragraph imply? A. The mother has finally overcome her fear of flying B. Their relationship has returned to a state of closeness. C. They have completed a round trip from their hometown to Singapore. D. The author has grown up and now takes care of her mother like a parent. 【答案】24. D 25. C 26. D 27. B 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者和母亲借去新加坡和妹妹过圣诞节之机,修复逐渐疏远的母女关系的故事。 【24题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段中“Perhaps the only thing that convinced her to overcome her fears was the chance to piece together our declining bond.(也许唯一能说服她克服恐惧的就是有机会修复我们逐渐疏远的关系)”和第二段中“Perhaps Singapore would give us a chance to breathe it back to life.(也许新加坡会给我们一个让它起死回生的机会)”可知,作者的母亲同意乘飞机去新加坡是因为她想改善和作者的关系。故选D。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中“However, I was surprised when she just turned her nose up at the Bruges Whale, a sculpture using plastic waste to raise awareness about ocean pollution.(然而,当她对布鲁日鲸不屑一顾时,我感到很惊讶,这是一座用塑料垃圾来提高人们对海洋污染认识的雕塑)”可知,母亲对布鲁日鲸的反应是“不屑一顾”,即表现出不感兴趣和印象不深。故选C。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段中“Disheartened by the distance between us, I led her to the kid’s zone. We signed up for a joint sketching activity, hoping that would help us connect.(由于我们之间的距离而感到沮丧,我把她带到了儿童区。我们报名参加了一个联合素描活动,希望这能帮助我们建立联系)”和第五段中“Mum went up and reached out, touching the fish as it moved its tail back and forth in the virtual tank.(妈妈走上前,伸出手,触摸着鱼,鱼在虚拟水箱里来回摆动着尾巴)”可知,儿童区的联合素描活动为母女俩提供了一个重新建立联系的机会。故选D。 【27题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Our time together was like that of friends(我们在一起的时间就像朋友一样)”和“Life has indeed come full circle.(生活确实已经回到了原点)”可知,最后一段暗示她们的关系已经回到了亲密的状态。故选B。 C A new study has found that a child’s reading speed can be improved by simply increasing the space between letters within a piece of text. The research, led by Dr. Steven Stagg of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), examined the benefits of letter spacing and coloured overlays (颜色标注) among children. Two groups of children, dyslexic (诵读困难) and non-dyslexic children, were asked to read four texts with either standard or extra-large letter spacing, both with and without a coloured overlay. They were instructed to read the text out loud while being recorded. The recording was used to measure the number of errors they made — specifically missed words, added words, wrong words, and pronunciation — as well as the participants’ reading time. The study discovered that text with increased space between letters provided a benefit for both groups. On average, the dyslexia group showed a 13% increase in reading speed, while the group of non-dyslexic children showed a 5% increase. In addition to improving reading speed, it also resulted in a significant decline in the number of words missed by the children with dyslexia. However, the study found that coloured overlays had no significant impact on reading speed or the reduction of errors for either group. Dr. Stagg, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at ARU, said, “We believe extra-large letter spacing works by reducing what is known as the ‘crowding effect’, which can hamper the recognition of letters and reduce reading speed.” “Our findings strongly suggest that teachers can be confident that all children would be helped by increased letter spacing in reading materials,” Dr. Stagg added. “While we found that coloured overlays provided little benefit, we suggest children should be encouraged to use overlays if they find these help their reading. Coloured overlays may not increase reading speeds, but they may extend reading stamina (持久力). Previous research suggests their benefits may not become apparent if reading time is less than 10 minutes and the short reading duration of the tests in our study may have put coloured overlays at a disadvantage.” 28. What can we learn about the research? A. Non-dyslexic children did not benefit from increased letter spacing at all. B. The study found that both groups read faster with extra-large letter spacing. C. Reading errors of non-dyslexic children increased with larger letter spacing. D. Coloured overlays significantly improved the reading speed of dyslexic children. 29. What does the word “hamper” underlined in Paragraph 4 probably mean? A. Prevent. B. Obtain. C. Involve. D. Change. 30. What does Dr. Stagg emphasise regarding coloured overlays? A. Their benefits for reading stamina are immediate within short tests. B. They are equally effective as increased letter spacing for all children. C. They should be abandoned since they provide no reading speed benefits. D. Their potential advantages may require longer reading sessions to emerge. 【答案】28. B 29. A 30. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述了一项研究发现增加文本字母间距能提高儿童阅读速度,而颜色标注作用不显著。 【28题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第三段内容“On average, the dyslexia group showed a 13% increase in reading speed, while the group of non-dyslexic children showed a 5% increase.(平均而言,患有阅读障碍的儿童组的阅读速度提高了 13%,而未患阅读障碍的儿童组则提高了 5%)”可知,字母间距增大后,两组儿童(诵读困难组和非诵读困难组)的阅读速度均提升。 故选A项。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章末尾段内容“Coloured overlays may not increase reading speeds, but they may extend reading stamina (持久力). Previous research suggests their benefits may not become apparent if reading time is less than 10 minutes and the short reading duration of the tests in our study may have put coloured overlays at a disadvantage.(彩色覆盖膜可能不会提高阅读速度,但可能会延长阅读耐力。之前的研究表明,如果阅读时间少于10分钟,它们的好处可能不会显现,而我们研究中测试的短阅读时间可能会使彩色覆盖膜处于不利地位)”可知,Dr. Stagg强调彩色覆盖膜在短时测试(低于10分钟)中效果不显著,但可能提升长期阅读的持久力,即,其潜在的优势可能需要更长的阅读时间才能显现出来。故选D项。 D For 75 years, astronomers have been searching for extraterrestrial (地球外的) intelligence, often shortened to SETI. SETI involves listening for radio or optical signals sent by intelligent civilizations, but, so far, no artificial signals have been detected. The failure of SETI is called “The Great Silence”, but despite this, many scientists are confident that intelligent aliens do exist. There are thought to be at least 10 billion habitable worlds in our galaxy, and billions of years have passed in which any life on them could have developed intelligence and technology. METI, or messaging extraterrestrial intelligence, has been less common. It involves talking rather than listening. To some, it is a controversial activity. The first attempts at communication were unrealistic “messages in a bottle”. In 1972, NASA launched the Pioneer 10 spacecraft towards Jupiter, which carried a board with a line drawing of a man and a woman as well as symbols to show where the craft originated. In 1977, NASA followed this up with a golden record attached to the Voyager I craft. The 12-inch record held sounds and images chosen to convey the diversity of life on Earth. Both spacecrafts have since left the solar system. At their current speeds, it will be tens of thousands of years before they reach another star system. In the immensity of space, the odds that they will be found are extremely small. Now, an international team of astronomers plans to use the world’s largest radio telescope, FAST, located in China, to beam a message towards millions of stars that are 10,000 to 20,000 light years away. The new message is a combination of previous ones. NASA signals to its remote spacecraft, meanwhile, have reached four nearby stars. But perhaps we have already betrayed our existence to aliens. Radio and television have been leaking into space for nearly a century, in an expanding bubble of communications that spans millions of stars-in theory, at least. The ethical question raised by METT is: Should we be sending a message at all? Scientists are divided. Before he died, Stephen Hawking was outspoken about the danger of communicating with aliens. If they have superior technology and are malign, they might destroy us. Others see no problem, given that the signals take millennia (一千年) to reach their destination. No international rules govern METI, so the experiments will continue. My own take is that the risk is abstract when the message will take millennia to be received. We have more direct and existential threats than evil alien empires. My guess is that extraterrestrial intelligence and tech are so advanced that they are hard to comprehend. After all, we share 99% of our DNA with chimps and can’t communicate with them. 31. What is “The Great Silence” in the context of SETI? A. The absence of sound in outer space. B. The quietness of habitable worlds in the galaxy. C. The lack of communication between different space agencies. D. The failure to detect artificial signals from intelligent civilizations. 32. Which of the following statements might the author agree with? A. It’s unwise to continue METI without international rules. B. Scientists should prioritize addressing immediate threats. C. We may establish connection with aliens in the near future. D. Communication with aliens may lead to humanity’s destruction. 33. What can be inferred from the underlined sentence in the last paragraph? A. We should give up looking for aliens for the moment. B. We should first learn how to communicate with our closest relative. C. Communication with aliens from other intelligent civilizations is unlikely. D. Genetic similarity is no guarantee of successful communication with aliens. 34. What is mainly discussed in the passage? A. The significance of SETT and METI projects. B. The possibility of finding habitable planets in the universe. C. The efforts made to search for intelligent life beyond the earth. D. The challenges in detecting artificial signals from other planets. 【答案】31. D 32. B 33. C 34. 根据第一段第二句“SETT involves listening for radio or optical signals sent by intelligent civilizations, but, so far, no artificial signals have been detected. (SETT涉及监听智能文明发出的无线电或光信号,但到目前为止,还没有检测到任何人工信号。)”可知,SETT想要的便是获得智能文明发出的信号,那它的失败就是没有获得这些信号。故选D项。 【32题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段一二句“My own take is that the risk is abstract when the message will take millennia to be received. We have more direct and existential threats than evil alien empires. (我自己的看法是,当信息需要数千年才能被接收时,风险是抽象的。我们面临的威胁比邪恶的外星帝国更直接、更存在。)”可知,作者认为METI的风险是抽象的,尚未实际成形,但是我们面临其他的更直接存在的风险,言外之意便是与外星帝国相比,我们需要先解决这些更直接存在的风险。故选B项。 【33题详解】 词句猜测题。根据最后一段第三句“My guess is that extraterrestrial intelligence and tech are so advanced that they are hard to comprehend. In our daily lives, we interact with a variety of people, such as family members, friends, classmates, and colleagues. ____35____ These conflicts, if not properly addressed, can lead to stress, hurt feelings, and damaged relationships. However, by learning some effective strategies, we can turn these conflicts into opportunities for deeper understanding and stronger connections. Identify the Root Cause The first step in resolving a conflict is to figure out what’s really going on. ____36____ For example, if you and your friend are arguing about which movie to watch, the underlying issue might not be about the movie at all. It could be that one of you feels like your opinions are never listened to in the friendship. Try to have an open-minded conversation to uncover these hidden issues. Listen to the other person’s perspective without interrupting and ask clarifying questions to fully understand their point of view. Control Your Emotions Emotions can run high during a conflict. It’s easy to get angry, defensive, or upset. When you’re angry, you might say or do things that you’ll regret later. Take a few deep breaths before responding. If possible, take a short break from the conversation to calm down. You can also try techniques like counting to ten or repeating a calming phrase in your mind Remember, the goal is to resolve the conflict, not to win an argument. ____37____ Practice Active Listening Active listening is crucial in conflict resolution. This means fully focusing or what the other person is saying. Maintain eye contact, nod to show you’re listening, and give verbal cues like “I see” or “Go on.” Avoid interrupting the other person. After they’ve finished speaking, summarize what they’ve said to make sure you understand correctly. ____38____ For instance, you could say, “So, what you’re saying is that you feel we should have made this decision together, right?” Seek a Win-Win Solution Rather than trying to prove that you’re right and the other person is wrong look for a solution that satisfies both parties. ____39____ Brainstorm different options together. Maybe you can combine elements of both of your ideas or come up with a completely new solution. For example, if two roommates are arguing about how to decorate their shared living space, they could each choose one area of the room to decorate according to their own style. This way, both roommates get to have a say and feel satisfied with the outcome. A. Most conflicts are not as simple as they first appear. B. But sometimes, conflicts occur in these relationships. C. Focus on finding common ground and shared interests. D. Conflicts may cause serious results if they are not solved properly. E. Understanding each other’s positions is the key to solving conflicts. F. This not only shows that you respect their opinion but also helps to clarify any misunderstandings. G. By keeping your emotions in check, you’ll communicate more effectively and find a solution that works for both parties. 【答案】35. B 36. A 37. G 38. F 39. C 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了处理人际关系冲突的有效策略,包括找出根源、控制情绪、积极倾听和寻求双赢解决方案。 【35题详解】 由上文“In our daily lives, we interact with a variety of people, such as family members, friends, classmates, and colleagues. (在我们的日常生活中,我们会与各种各样的人互动,比如家人、朋友、同学和同事)”及下文“These conflicts, if not properly addressed, can lead to stress, hurt feelings, and damaged relationships. (这些冲突,如果得不到妥善处理,会导致压力、感情受伤和关系受损)”可知,上文描述了我们日常与很多人互动,下文提到冲突及其后果,空处应起到承上启下的作用,引出冲突这一话题。B选项“But sometimes, conflicts occur in these relationships. (但有时,这些关系中会出现冲突)”中these relationships指代上文提到的与家人、朋友等的关系,符合语境。故选B。 【36题详解】 由下文“For example, if you and your friend are arguing about which movie to watch, the underlying issue might not be about the movie at all. It could be that one of you feels like your opinions are never listened to in the friendship. (例如,如果你和你的朋友在争论看哪部电影,潜在的问题可能根本不是关于电影的。可能是你们中的一个人觉得在友谊中自己的意见从未被倾听)”可知,此段通过举例说明冲突背后可能隐藏着更深层次的问题,即冲突并不像表面看起来那么简单。A选项“Most conflicts are not as simple as they first appear. (大多数冲突并不像它们最初看起来那么简单)”说明冲突并不是看起来那么简单,引出下文,符合语境。故选A。 【37题详解】 由上文“When you’re angry, you might say or do things that you’ll regret later. Take a few deep breaths before responding. If possible, take a short break from the conversation to calm down. You can also try techniques like counting to ten or repeating a calming phrase in your mind Remember, the goal is to resolve the conflict, not to win an argument. (当你生气时,你可能会说或做一些事后会后悔的话或事。在回应之前先深呼吸几次。如果可能的话,暂停对话休息一下让自己冷静下来。你也可以尝试数到十或在脑海中重复一句能让自己平静下来的话。记住,目标是解决冲突,而不是赢得争论)”可知,此段主要讲述在冲突中要控制自己的情绪,G选项“By keeping your emotions in check, you’ll communicate more effectively and find a solution that works for both parties. (通过控制自己的情绪,你会更有效地沟通,并找到对双方都有效的解决方案)”总结了控制情绪的好处,符合语境。故选G。 【38题详解】 由上文“After they’ve finished speaking, summarize what they’ve said to make sure you understand correctly. (在他们说完后,总结他们所说的话,以确保你理解正确)”可知,此段讲述主动倾听时要总结对方的话以确保理解正确,F选项“This not only shows that you respect their opinion but also helps to clarify any misunderstandings. (这不仅表明你尊重他们的意见,也有助于澄清任何误解)”中This指代上文总结对方所说的话这一行为,符合语境。故选F。 【39题详解】 由上文“Rather than trying to prove that you’re right and the other person is wrong, look for a solution that satisfies both parties. Random acts of kindness could happen anywhere at any time. It’s often unexpected, but almost never unappreciated. Most people, at one time or another, have been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness-that moment of pure altruism (利他主义) when a complete stranger stops to offer aid, generosity or compassion. In a world where people can be so focused on what they’re doing, a random act of kindness can make all the difference. They can be relatively insignificant. Hannah Bailey from London, for example, told the Metro newspaper about how she was given her fruit and vegetable shopping for free. The seller did her a kindness when it happened that she didn’t have any change to pay. She was happy about it all day. The city of Naples has long had a tradition called ‘caffe sospeso’. When buying coffee, a person who has recently been lucky would purchase two cups but only drink one, leaving the second one anonymously, out of the goodness of their heart, for a poor person to claim for free. This tradition is now more common worldwide. However, in some cases, these little acts can be a matter of life and death. Take, for example, the unnamed passenger, who in June 2018 fell off a station platform onto an electric railway track in Toronto, Canada. A quick-thinking, but even now unknown, bystander selflessly leapt down to pull him to safety. So, why do it? Often, the acts aren’t reciprocated (回报的). The people never meet again. According to UK charity The Mental Health Foundation, acts like these can “give our lives new purpose, show us other perspectives on our own problems and even make us feel euphoric-an extremely strong feeling of happiness and excitement.” So give it a try. Hold open a door for someone, deliver a compliment. 40. Why was Bailey given some fruit for free? _________________________________________________________________________________ 41. How does the tradition “caffe sospeso” work in Naples? _________________________________________________________________________________ 42. Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why. A passenger, who fell off the station platform, was saved by a quick-thinking bystander and consequently they became good friends _________________________________________________________________________________ 43. What specific act could you do in your daily life to spread kindness? And explain why it matters. (In about 40 words) _________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】40. Because the seller did her a kindness when it happened that she didn't have any change to pay. 41. In Naples, when buying coffee, a person who has recently been lucky would purchase two cups but only drink one, leaving the second one anonymously for a poor person to claim for free. 42. A passenger, who fell off the station platform, was saved by a quick-thinking bystander and consequently they became good friends. According to the text, the quick-thinking bystander who saved the passenger’s life still now was unknown, so they didn’t become good friends. 43. One specific act I could do is to hold open a door for someone. It matters because it shows respect and consideration for others, which can also bring convenience, making them feel appreciated and valued. 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇议论文。本文主要讲述了随机善行的重要性和影响。这些善行随时随地都可能发生,虽然可能微不足道,但却能给人带来深远的影响。 【40题详解】 考查细节理解。根据第二段中的“Hannah Bailey from London, for example, told the Metro newspaper about how she was given her fruit and vegetable shopping for free. The seller did her a kindness when it happened that she didn’t have any change to pay. (例如,来自伦敦的Hannah Bailey向《地铁报》讲述了她是如何免费获得水果和蔬菜的购物经历的。当时她没有零钱付款,卖家好心帮她免了单。)”可知,Bailey没有零钱付账时,卖家出于好意免费送了她水果和蔬菜。故答案为Because the seller did her a kindness when it happened that she didn’t have any change to pay. 【41题详解】 考查细节理解。根据第三段中的“ When buying coffee, a person who has recently been lucky would purchase two cups but only drink one, leaving the second one anonymously, out of the goodness of their heart, for a poor person to claim for free. (买咖啡时,一个最近走运的人会买两杯但只喝一杯,出于善心,他会把另一杯匿名留下,让穷人可以免费领取。)”可知,在Naples,“caffe sospeso”的传统是这样的:买咖啡时,一个最近很幸运的人会买两杯但只喝一杯,把另一杯匿名留给穷人免费领取。故答案为In Naples, when buying coffee, a person who has recently been lucky would purchase two cups but only drink one, leaving the second one anonymously for a poor person to claim for free. 【42题详解】 考查细节理解。根据第四段中的“Take, for example, the unnamed passenger, who in June 2018 fell off a station platform onto an electric railway track in Toronto, Canada. A quick-thinking, but even now unknown, bystander selflessly leapt down to pull him to safety. (以 2018 年 6 月在加拿大多伦多的一名未透露姓名的乘客为例,他从站台跌落至电气化铁轨上。一位反应迅速但至今身份不明的旁观者毫不犹豫地跳下去,将他拉到了安全地带。)”可知,这位反应迅速的旁观者无私地跳下铁轨把乘客救到安全地带,至今身份不明,即表示他们再也没有见过面,所以他们并没有成为好朋友。故题干中的错误部分是“consequently they became good friends”。故答案为A passenger, who fell off the station platform, was saved by a quick-thinking bystander and consequently they became good friends. According to the text, the quick-thinking bystander who saved the passenger’s life still now was unknown, so they didn’t become good friends. 43题详解】 开放性试题。本题为开放性试题,结合个人生活经验,回答合理即可。本人认为,在日常生活中,我可以为别人做的具体善举之一是为别人开门。这很重要,在带来便利的同时,它也表现出对别人的尊重和体贴,让他们感受到被重视和珍惜。故答案为One specific act I could do is to hold open a door for someone. It matters because it shows respect and consideration for others, which can also bring convenience, making them feel appreciated and valued. 第二节 (20分) 44. 假设你是红星中学高二学生李华,你的外国好友Chris在邮件中提到,他作为学校科技社团的负责人,计划以“Tech China”为主题策划一次社团活动,向你寻求帮助。请你用英文回复邮件,内容包括: 1. 活动内容及形式; 2. 推介理由。 注意:1. 词数100左右;2. 开头和结尾已经给出,不计入总词数。 Dear Chris, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Best wishes, Li Hua 【答案】Dear Chris, I’m thrilled to hear about your upcoming “Tech China”-themed event for the school science club! A recent update added Zumba and a mixed reality mode called Slam to a list that includes boxing combat, high-intensity interval training, sculpt and dance. B Years ago my Singapore-based sister insisted my mother and I join her for the Christmas. B. She was eager to visit the Art Science Museum. C A new study has found that a child’s reading speed can be improved by simply increasing the space between letters within a piece of text. B The study found that both groups read faster with extra-large letter spacing. D For 75 years, astronomers have been searching for extraterrestrial (地球外的) intelligence, often shortened to SETI. At their current speeds it will be tens of thousands of years before they reach another star system. 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,共10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的七个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。选项中有两项为多余选项。 In our daily lives, we interact with a variety of people, such as family members, friends, classmates, and colleagues. ____38____ For instance, you could say, “So, what you’re saying is that you feel we should have made this decision together, right?” Seek a Win-Win Solution Rather than trying to prove that you’re right and the other person is wrong, look for a solution that satisfies both parties. G. By keeping your emotions in check you’ll communicate more effectively and find a solution that works for both parties. 第三部分 书面表达 (共两节,32分) 第一节 (共4小题;第40、41题各2分,第42题3分,第43题5分,共12分) 阅读下面短文,根据题目要求用英语回答问题。请在答题卡指定区域作答。 Random acts of kindness could happen anywhere at any time.
