Looking forward to your participation. Maybe I could be someone who was really competent. “I can definitely help with that! Where are the parts?”Following Grandma, I went into the room, where a computer sat surrounded by some scattered parts. Rolling up my sleeves, I carefully connected everything. It was a piece of cake(小菜一碟) to me. “Done!” I announced confidently. After a few adjustments, the internet was up and running. Now it was time to sell the roses. I decided to start from my social media platform. I quickly uploaded photos, added descriptions, and set prices. Before long, notifications started showing up — people were noticing. My abilities made a difference ! (96 词) Within a few hours, orders for roses flooded in. “This is amazing, Jude!” Grandma cheered with joy as she began bustling(匆匆忙忙的走;奔忙) about, packing flowers. Mr. Jackson chuckled(轻声笑)warmly as he handed me another bunch to label. The energy was electric(令人兴奋的) — everyone was on their feet, moving quickly to keep up with the growing orders. The farm felt alive, and so did I. To our surprise, the roses sold out in just half a day. “You’ve brought the farm into the twenty-first century, Jude,” Grandma hugged me tightly. I realized that being competent wasn’t about avoiding mistakes. It was about facing them head-on(面对面的)and making the most of (充分利用)my strengths. (100 词) A. 21.C. Current students, teachers (including retired) and staff",选项中只有 C 选项"Retired teachers"符合要求。 22.A. A"Return it when it is recalled"直接对应原文描述。 23.D. 文中提 到“To cope with my grief, I would imagine my mom wearing the red sweater and reaching out to comfort me”,明确表明毛衣的象征意义是情感寄托。 25.C。 26.D。文中多次提到母亲“cared for a large family”“warm hands, worn and shrivelled from age and work”, 体现勤劳;而“Mom was there for me: advice and comfort”则体现关爱,故 D(勤劳且富有爱心)最全面。 27.B。全文围绕母亲传递的文化遗产展开,如“strong native spirituality, deep respect for the land, and love for the outdoors”,红毛衣是遗产的象征之一,但标题需概括整体主题,故 B(宝贵的遗产)最贴切。 【28.D]细节理解题,根据第二段-The birds were spotted in 1937 on islands around Qingdao,Shandong Province, and it was not until 2000 that a bird photographer spotted them on the Matsu lslands off the coast of Fujian Province, which immediately caused a storm in international ornithology(鸟类学) circles for researchers assumed that the birds had already died out.(1937 年,人们在山东青岛附近的岛屿上发现了这 种鸟,直到 2000 年,一位鸟类摄影师在福建沿海的马祖避岛发现了它们,这一消息立即在国际鸟类 学界引起了轩然大波,因为研究人员认为这种鸟已经灭绝了)可知,研究人员在 2000 年发现中国风头 热鸥时感到惊讶是因为他们认为这种鸟已经灭绝了,故选 D。 [29 A ]细节理解题,根据第三段“Born in Lanzhou, Gansa Province, Ding grew up seeing barren (不毛的) mountains and sandstorms, and has an awareness of environmental protection at an early age. I ordered a pool table online from your shop last Tuesday and it arrived only three days later. I was amazed and very happy at the speed of service, although the outer packing was a little damaged. Then, unfortunately, the problems started. I had to put together the pool table and this was quite difficult. The first major complaint I have is that the instruction booklet included was written only in Spanish and Polish. I don’t think this is very helpful for me. I can’t believe you wouldn’t include the instructions in English. Anyway, I managed to follow the diagrams and get the pool table put together in about two hours. Once I had put it together, I noticed the white ball wasn’t there. How am I supposed to be able to play any games without the white ball? It’s obvious that the table was faulty. The roll of the balls was not very true — they kept curving to the left or the right so I think there’s a problem with the table. So I don’t want to spend $800 for a pool table that can’t be used! At the age of seventy-two, she had been well prepared for her death, but I was not. Of both French and Indian background, she had a gentle, soft touch. All her life, Mom was there for me;although now a grown woman,I still needed my senior parent for advice and comfort. We were the best of friends, and over the years, we shared, laughed and cried together. I often found myself wearing her red sweater, which had been Mom's favourite, and it was faded and worn from years of use. To cope with my grief, I would imagine my mom wearing the red sweater and reaching out to comfort me. Her warm hands, worn and shrivelled (干枯) from age and work, had cared for a large family, and brought life to plants and flowers. Mom lost both her cultures when she married my father, a white man, and moved from her island to live on his. When she arrived in isolated and rural Cardigan at the age of eighteen, she began to learn English. Sadly, her knowledge of both French and her native Chinook began to fade away. One of my favourite memories are the native powwws(帕瓦仪式) we attended on Panmure Island. First Nations people from all over North America travelled there to participate in the powwows. It was an opportunity for Mom to mingle with the First Nations people, wear her native shirt, dance in the sacred circle and socialize. She loved going to those powwows and I remember her proudly telling an elder once, “I'm Indian, too." Although she had moved into the white man's world when she married, she never lost her Chinook heritage of strong native spirituality, deep respect for the land, and love for the outdoors- all of which she passed on to me and my eight brothers and sisters. Now, her image travels with me when I feel grief and pain. She always wears the red sweater and for an instant, our hands join. Death has not separated us. 24. Why did I keep Mom's red sweater? A. It was a gift from my mom as my best friend. B. It held many memories and offered me comfort. C. It was Mom's favourite despite its overuse. D. It witnessed my growth from a girl to a woman. 25. Why did Mom love to attend the native powwow? A. She felt isolated and wanted to make friends there. B. She lost her culture after she married my father. C. She was eager to be identified with her ancient roots. D. She was passionate about outdoor activities. 26. Which of the following best describes Mom? A. Quiet and considerate. B. Strict and determined. C. Talkative and humorous. D. Hardworking and caring. 高二英语试题 第5页(共10页) 27. Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text? A. Silenced Cultural Identity B. A Valuable Heritage C. The Red Sweater D. Journey to the Roots C From time to time, Ding Peng makes his way across the waves to Zhongtiedun, an island in Zhejiang Province. He has made a point of coming back to visit it to greet and observe the Chinese crested terns(中华凤头燕鸥) over the past ten years. The medium-sized bird is 30 -40 centimeters long, with gray wings and a white body. It was first discovered in Indonesia by Heinrich Bernstein in 1861. It has since been sighted only in small numbers around the world. The birds were spotted in 1937 on islands around Qingdao, Shandong Province, and it was not until 2000 that a bird photographer spotted them on the Matsu Islands off the coast of Fujian Province, which immediately caused a storm in international ornithology (鸟类学) circles for researchers assumed that the birds had already died out. Born in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, Ding grew up seeing barren (贫瘠的) mountains and sandstorms, and had an awareness of environmental protection at an early age. That was why, after graduating from university in 2012, he readily took a job offer from the Jiushan Islands National Nature Reserve in Zhejiang. "I love the sea and my major could be of some use in protecting it," he says. Looking back at his life on the islands, Ding admits that it was very tough. There was no electricity to charge mobile phones and no air conditioner during the hot summer, and drinking water was sent in by supply ships. The worst was the loneliness, though things took a turn for the better in 2017, when more volunteers came to join the bird protection team. Ding's contributions were recognized by the local authorities of Ningbo this year, who named him one of the city's "most beautiful people". "Everything was worth it, now that more people are aware of the importance of protecting the birds, and now that the number of the birds is on the rise," Ding says. 28.Why did the researchers feel surprised when the Chinese crested terns were found in 2000? A. They were spotted by a photographer instead of them. B. The event made them ashamed. C. They were unable to catch them. D. They thought the birds were extinct. 29.What was the main reason why Ding decided to take the job offer? A. His life experience in his hometown. B. His major. C. A good salary. D. The beautiful scenery. 30.How was Ding's life on the islands? A. Adventurous. B. Enjoyable. C. Difficult. D. Inspiring. 31.What does Ding think of his team's work? A. It's fruitful. B. It's perfect. C. It's regrettable. D. It's pointless. 高二英语试题 第6页(共10页) D A powerful earthquake hit Morocco on Friday night. The earthquake struck around 11 p.m. The U.S. Geological Survey(USGS)says that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8. But Morocco's earthquake center recorded the earthquake was almost twice as strong. The quake was one of the most powerful ever recorded in Morocco. It was also the country's deadliest earthquake in over 60 years. The earthquake is reported to have killed over 2,680 people so far. It has injured over 2,500 others. The earthquake was extremely dangerous because it happened at night. Marrakesh is a big city that's popular with tourists. Many of its modern buildings seem to have survived the earthquake. But the old part of the city, called Medina, was hard hit. Medina has buildings that are over 1,000 years old. Outside of Marrakesh, the earth quake caused even more damage. In the Atlas Mountains, the earthquake's center, there were many small villages. Some villages were nearly destroyed. Many of the people in the area live in simple houses made of mud bricks. This is a traditional way of building in Morocco. But they are not strong enough to protect against earthquakes. Many of these houses collapsed. Some of the bricks turned to sand. Rescue workers have been working hard to save those affected by the quake. In larger cities, rescue efforts seem to be going well. But it has taken a lot longer for help to reach far areas in the mountains. Many of these villages are difficult to get to. Every moment, we were moving farther away from the city, the place where I knew how to do things right. The car engine wasn’t off before Grandma hugged me. I slowly dragged myself out of the car. “Jude, you look unhappy. Why?” Grandma asked. She acted like nothing bad had happened last time. Could I ask how much money her neighbor Mr. Jackson had lost because of my mistake? Was he still upset with me? “I’m fine,” I answered. “I’m just missing my computer camp. Computers are something I’m good at.” “That sounds disappointing,” Grandma nodded. I liked visiting the farm during breaks before I messed things up last summer. Grandma lived alone, and Mr. Jackson was like family to her. Then one day I forgot to lock the gate and let the goats into his flower beds. He lost almost all his roses for the farmers’ market. Now, back at the farm, I felt nervous. I was trying to hide in the room when I saw Mr. Jackson! He was opening the door and calling Grandma. “I need help!” he yelled to her. “Just a second for the freshly harvested roses!” That was when he saw me. I felt my heart tighten and was ready for his criticism. I deserved it. He had probably been waiting for this moment since 高二英语试题 第10页(共10页) last summer. However, Mr. Jackson greeted me happily, “Great, Jude is here! Your grandma always tells us you are a wonderfully competent (有能力的) computer programmer.” I shook my head. “I am not competent. I am sorry I messed things up.” He was surprised and comforted me, “It was an accident. Being competent doesn't mean you never make mistakes.” I looked out of the window. There were piles of roses waiting to be sold. “Jude, can you help us? We want to sell roses online. We have a computer and all the parts (零件) for our internet connection, but we just can’t set it up,” Grandma asked. No internet. They seemed to live in the twentieth century. 注意:1. 续写次数应为 150 个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Maybe I could be someone who was really competent._________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ Within a few hours, orders for roses flooded in.________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ 色 检 污 吉林地区普通高中友好学校联合体第四十届基础年级期未联考 (2024一2025学年度下学期) 高二英语答题卡 姓名 条码粘贴处 准 候考标记,考生射 注 1,答题牌,考生无将自己的姓名。准考正号码填可清她 填!由蓝考老饰负 正确填涂 2诗将准考证条码粘贴在右侧的条可粘贴处]的方属内 责用■色字迹的 按字笔填涂 3. 遗择题必观使用2B铅笔填涂:非选择烟必录用0.5嘉米鼎色学迹的经学笔填写,字体工整 事 4. 请被题号顺序在各题的答圈区内作答,超出范围的答案无效,在草纸。试檬上作答无效, 涂样 错误填涂 项 5. 保持卡丽清洁,不要折曼、不要界破、弄皱,不准使用涂政液、副纸刀, 40一t 第一部分客观题(请用2B铅笔填涂) ■■■ 1 [A][B][c] 6 [A】[B]Ec] 11CA][B][c] 16 [A][B][c] 2 [A][B][c] 7 CA][B][c] 12CA][B][c] 17[A][B]tc] 3EA][B][c 8[A[B][c 13[A3[B】[C] 18[A][B][c ■ 4 CA][B][c] 9 CA][B][c] 14 CA]EB][c] 19[A][B]Ec] ■ 5[A][B][c] 10 [A][B][c] 15【AJ[B][c3 20 [A][B][c] 21CA][B][c][D] 26[AJ[B】[cJ[D] 31 [A][e][c][o] 22[AJ[B[c][D] 27 [A][B][c][D] 32 [A][B]EC]ED] 23EA][B][c][D] 28tA][][c1[DJ 33[A][B][cJ[D] 24[AJ[B][C][D1 29 [A][B][c][D] 34CA][a][c】ED] 25 [A][B][c][D] 30 [A][B][c][D] 35 [A][B][c]Co] 36[A][B][c1[D][E][F][G 37 CA][B]EC][D][E][F]CG] 38 [A][B][C][D][E][F][G] 9 [A][B][c][D][E][F][G] O CA][B】【CJ[DJ[E】[FJ[GJ 41EA][B][c][D] 46[A][B][c][D] 51 [A][B]Cc][D] 42[AJ[B][c1[D] 47 [A][B][C][D] 52 [A]CB]CC][D] 43 [A][B][c][o] 48 [A][B][C][D] 53LAJ[6][c][D 44A][B][c][D] 49 [A][B][C][D] 54[A3[B][c][D1 45 [A][B][C1[D] 50[A1[B][cJ[D] 55[A][B][c][DJ 第二部分主观题(请用0.5m黑色签字笔作答) 第二节(15分) 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 65 请在各目的答题区域内作答,超出黑色矩形边框限定区域的答案无效 ■ 请考生保持答题卡干净整洁,不要污损、破坏! 白色检测俊·请污染 请在各题日的答题区域内作答,超出黑色矩形边框限定区域的答案无效 第一节(15分) 第二节(25分) Maybe I could be someone who was really competent. within a few hours, orders for roses flooded in. 请在各题目的答题区域内作答,翅出黑色矩形边框限定区域的答案无效 ■ ■ ■第一节请听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的ABC3个选项中选出最佳选项,并标在试卷的相应位置。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题,每段对话仅读一遍。Text one, do you feel like going jogging with me this afternoon? I was amazed and very happy at the speed of service. Although the outer packing was a little damaged then, unfortunately the problems started. I had to put together the pool table, and this was quite difficult. The first major complaint I have is that the instruction booklets included was written only in spanish in polish. I don't think this is very helpful for me. I can't believe you wouldn't include the instructions in english anyway. I managed to follow the diagrams and get the pool table put together in about two hours. Once I had put IT together, I noticed the White ball wasn't there. How am I supposed to be able to play any games without the White ball? It's obvious that the table was faulty. The role of the balls was not very true. They kept curving to the left or the right. So I think there's a problem with the table. So I don't want to spend eight hundred dollars for a pool table that can be used. My customer number is four, five, nine, nine, three. The order number was G, H, one, two, three, eight, eight. You can get in touch with me on my home phone number, three, four, eight, two, eight, eight, four, one. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible to let me know how we can resolve these problems. I really hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Hello, my name is Harry menzies.
