Developed by US company OpenAI, ChatGPT has taken the internet by storm. People can ask the robot to write stories and emails, translate languages, and answer all kinds of questions. It does this by drawing on information collected from a large amount of internet text. One breakthrough behind today’s model is a network called Transformer. The GPT models built by Open AI combined Transformer with unsupervised (无人指导的) learning, which means that the models can learn by themselves without being told what to look at.
“One of the biggest problems with ChatGPT is that it comes back very confidently with false information,” Michael Wooldridge told The Guardian. This means that ChatGPT learns information from various resources but it cannot decide what is true or false. Some argue that ChatGPT will be used to make fake news, spread falsities, or be used for ill purposes.
Andreas Schleicher thinks the chatbot will become a very powerful tool in the development of education. But he also mentioned, “There’s a great risk that we’ll just blindly follow the answers that we get from ChatGPT rather than question it and create new knowledge. If students are only as smart as a smartphone, it means educators are not doing enough. People should focus on developing human skills that actually are important, such as imagination and creativity.”
Schleicher added that as a tool, ChatGPT is going to make learning much more interesting and powerful, but as a purpose and goal, humans need to work very hard to win that race with technology.
16.How does ChatGPT work?
A.By rewriting complicated texts. B.By gathering different information.
C.By grouping information by theme. D.By using its large collection of texts.
17.What is the new technology behind ChatGPT?
A.Its network can get and deal with texts quickly. B.Its language model can search words accurately.

A.It deals with information slowly. B.It learns from various resources.
C.It give back fake information confidently. D.It can be used to make and spread news quickly.
19.Which of the following does Schleicher agree with?
A.It is not necessary to question the answers.
B.Students should be educated as smart as possible.
C.People should learn to be creative and imaginative.
D.Educators need a more powerful tool than ChatGPT.
20.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.ChatGPT pushes humans to find answers quickly.
B.The future is about making good use of technology.
C.We should focus on the development of technology.
D.Our purpose is to win the race without ChatGPT-like tools.

故选A。
根据第五段中的“As of April, Baidu’s autonomous driving program has driven 100 million kilometers without a major casualty(伤亡) incident”可知,截至4月,百度的自动驾驶项目已经行驶了1亿公里而没有发生重大伤亡事故。
根据倒数第二段中的“The rising demand for lower-price robotaxi worries taxi drivers. While new job opportunities are emerging (涌现) in this field.”
根据第六段中的“As of now, Baidu has opened manned test operation services in 11 cities and is conducting (实施) fully driverless autonomous driving service tests in Beijing, Wuhan, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Shanghai.”
故选A。
