You probably talk to your friends more than you talk to your parents. But sometimes it’s good to have your parents’ help and support (支持). If you don’t know how to open up, here are some ways to make it easier.
____14____
The more you do something, the simpler it will get. Talking to your parents about everyday things builds a bond (纽带) and makes it easier when you need to discuss something more serious. You can share something your teacher said or tell them about a school project.
____15____
Do you want to tell them something important? Or do you need their permission (允许) for something? It will help if you are clear about what you want. Put it into words. For example, “I need to get your permission to go on a class trip next week. Can I tell you about it?”
____16____
Are you worried about how your parents might react (回应)? Are you afraid that they’ll be angry or sad? Don’t let these feelings stop you from talking. Instead, let your feelings be part of the talk. For example, “I need to talk to you. But I’m afraid I’ll make you sad.”
____17____
Find a time when your parents aren’t busy with something else. You may ask, “Can we talk? Is now a good time?” Try to find a quiet place where there are no other people around. And then, just get started.
____18____
If you think you might get nervous when it is time to talk try practicing what you want to say in front of a mirror. You can also practice with a friend. Practice can build confidence (信心). It can help you feel more comfortable when you’re talking.

It was a Tuesday morning. The sun was shining brightly through the classroom windows. Our teacher walked into the classroom with a big smile on her face. She started talking about a special project (项目). We all became quiet at once and listened carefully. She said we would make a garden (花园) in the schoolyard. Each of us would have a small area to plant flowers.
I was really happy. I had never planted flowers before. It sounded like a lot of fun. After school, I couldn’t wait to go home. I walked quickly, thinking about what flowers to plant all the way. When I got home, I found my mom in the kitchen. I told her about the project. She thought for a moment and then gave me some sunflower seeds (种子). She said sunflowers were easy to grow.
The next day, I took the seeds to school. When I got to my small area in the schoolyard, I started to dig the soil. It was a bit hard. Just then, some of my classmates came over. They said they would help me. We worked together. While digging, we talked about our favorite flowers. After we planted the seeds, we watered them carefully.
Days passed. Every day, we went to check our little garden. We were all looking forward to seeing the flowers. Finally, the sunflowers grew out. They were so beautiful with their big yellow faces. Looking at the flowers, I felt really excited. I learned that working together and being patient (有耐心的) can bring good results.

These things are common among students. ____30____ So what can we do to solve these problems and get along well with our classmates?
First, be kind and friendly. A smile and a kind word can make a big difference. When you see classmates in trouble, give them a hand. ____31____ These can help build a good relationship.
Second, learn to share. You can share your snacks, books or interesting stories with your classmates. Sharing not only makes you feel good but also brings you closer to your classmates. ____32____
Third, respect (尊重) others. Everyone is different. Some like sports, while others like art. Don’t laugh at their hobbies or opinions. ____33____ By doing this, you’ll have more friends and have better relationships with others.
A. Instead, listen to them and show that you care.
B. If you do that often, you’ll be popular in class.
C. Also, try to remember their birthdays or other special days.
D. However, when they happen, you may feel sad.

(E)
请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题,并将答案写在答题卡相应位置上。
In the past, connecting (与……有联系) with friends meant spending time with them in person (亲自). But now it is different.
With the development of the technology (科技), people’s life has changed greatly. Today, most young people like to connect with their friends online better. They think it is a good way to connect with their friends. However, some people think connecting with friends online may make them lose their real-world friendships (友谊). Do you agree with it? Here are some ideas.
Know More
In the past, people connected with friends in simple ways. They often met friends face-to-face. They would go to their friends’ homes to play or chat. Sometimes, they would meet at places like parks or small shops. They could talk and have a good time together.
Agree
Technology hurts friendships. When we communicate with our friends in front of a screen, it’s easier to misread (误解) their tones (语调) or body language. We might think our friends are smiling while they’re upset.
A friend might send a text message as a joke that says, “You’re the worst friend!” But our feelings might be hurt because we think he’s serious.
Disagree
I’m Frank. I don’t think technology hurts friendships. In fact, it can make them stronger.
For example my best friends live in California where I used to live. The last time I met them in person was three years ago. But I talk to them online every week. It feels like they’re right here with me. Without technology, we can’t be so close friends.
According to experts, staying connected online is not enough to build true friendships. Spending time together face-to-face is quite important, especially when people are in trouble. During the hard times, people don’t need someone who likes their pictures or posts. What they really need is someone who can offer them help.
34. What did connecting with friends mean in the past?
_____________________________________________
35. Why do some people think technology hurts friendships?
_____________________________________________
36. Where do Frank’s best friends live?
_____________________________________________
37. What do experts think is important to build true friendships?
_____________________________________________
38. What do you think people need when they’re in trouble? And how do you help your friend in trouble?
_____________________________________________

请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容,在空白处填入适当的单词,使其通顺、连贯,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。每空一词。
Do you know that writing things by hand can help your brain (大脑)? It’s true! When you write with a pen, your brain works harder ____39____ when you type (打字) on a computer.
Scientists studied how students’ brains worked when they wrote or typed. As things turned out, more parts of their brains started working together when students wrote by hand, but that didn’t happen as much when they typed on a computer. In other ____40____, writing things down can help you remember them better.
There is a big difference in how the brain works for handwriting (书写) and typing. According to scientists, handwriting can help young brains learn, spell and understand new ideas even though typing is faster. Why? ____41____ when children write, they do it slowly. The slow process (过程) of writing gives children’s brains more time to learn and ____42____ about what they write.
So the next time you need to remember something, try writing it ____43____ with a pen. It might help your brain work better and remember the information. Writing things out might seem slow, but it can be helpful for your brain!

【答案】 Helping Others Brings Happiness to Ourselves
Last month, I saw an old lady carrying heavy bags at the bus stop. She looked tired, so I offered to help. I carried her bags and walked with her to her home nearby. She thanked me warmly and said I was a kind child. This experience made me feel proud and happy. Though my arms ached a little, seeing her smile filled me with joy. I now understand that “helping others brings happiness to ourselves” because small acts of kindness not only help others but also make us feel valuable. Sharing kindness makes the world warmer, and that is true happiness.
