“When choosing a career, I’ve always believed that young people should seek what they truly love.” That’s exactly the path Moyun has taken. Moyun, a music influencer, gained fame by covering (翻唱) pop songs on the guzheng. Since 2014, her Bilibili uploads have earned millions of views.
Despite the overnight success, Moyun didn’t let it upset her life. “I was still a student at the time, and during those years focused on studying, the video’s sudden popularity didn’t really change my daily routine,” she recalled.
But the wave of positive comments from the audience greatly inspired her to follow her love for the guzheng. With this drive, Moyun has gained many fans by playing modern songs on the old guzheng and slowly created her own special way of mixing old and new music styles.
One standout example of her works is the cover of the Eagles’ Hotel California, which has gotten over 20 million views on YouTube. Many international viewers, after watching her videos, are amazed by her performances and often ask the same question: “What instrument is this? I’ve never seen it before.”
To Moyun, it’s unfortunate that the guzheng is not well-known outside of China. She thinks the common English translation for guzheng- “Chinese zither” -is not quite right. However, she is hopeful that this will change, especially as more young people in China seek to reconnect with their cultural roots.
“I believe that when we present the guzheng with cultural confidence on global stages, introducing it proudly by name, it will become the accepted universal term,” Moyun said.
Next Moyun plans to play modern songs from different types of music using the guzheng, challenging ideas about traditional Chinese instruments. With a focus on finger-style techniques and original compositions, she aims to expand what the guzheng can do. “Don’t limit yourself — explore more,” she said.
4. What did Moyun do after her sudden success?
A. She quit her studies. B. She changed her performing style.
C. She turned a professional. D. She went about her daily life as usual.
5. What makes Moyun’s music particularly special?
A. Having unique stage presence. B. Mixing traditional and modern styles.
C. Reaching global followers online. D. Focusing on covering classical music.
6. What does Moyun’s attitude to the term “Chinese zither” indicate?
A. She favors spreading Chinese culture confidently.
B. She regards the guzheng as a type of the zither
C. She credits the guzheng’s global fame to the term.
D. She hopes Chinese young people reconnect with western culture.
7. Which of the following best describes Moyun?
A. Innovative. B. Honest. C. Considerate. D. Generous.
D 5. B 6. A 7. A

以及倒数第二段““I believe that when we present the guzheng with cultural confidence on global stages, introducing it proudly by name, it will become the accepted universal term,” Moyun said. 故选A。

Research has shown that consumers often would rather interact with human agents (代理人) than robotic ones. But a new study paints a more different picture: when communicating a disappointing offer, a bot gets better results.
In one experiment, participants imagined that they were buying a concert ticket online. Some were told that a similar ticket had been sold to another customer for the same price; the others were told that another customer had gotten a better deal. Half the participants in each group interacted with a human ticket agent, while the other half interacted with a bot. Among those offered the similarly priced ticket, the type of agent made no difference to acceptance rates. But among participants offered the higher-priced ticket, just 19% of those interacting with a person wanted to buy it, while 49% of those interacting with a bot did. When the other customer was said to have paid a higher price, the opposite happened: The human agent (89%) than the bot (76%).
Later studies discovered why that pattern occurred. People thought bots were more fair with bad news (less selfish than humans) but less generous with good news (not as kind as humans). However, this difference became smaller when the bot had human features like a name or face.
“Our results reveal that an AI ‘bad guy’/human ‘good guy’ approach to managing disappointment should have beneficial results, when informing customers about unexpected delays or upgrades,” the researchers wrote. However, they add a warning: “In those cases where the worse-than-expected offer is objectively harmful to consumers, the use of this approach raises moral concerns.”
8. What does the new study show?
A. Consumers always prefer robotic agents .
B. Bots do better with disappointing offers.
C. Human agents are better than bots in all cases.
D. Bots make customers feel more disappointed .
9. How does the researchers conduct the first experiment?
A. By analyzing documents.
B. By conducting case studies.
C. By using past experiment data.
D. By comparing acceptance rates.
10. What do people think of bots with human features?
A. Bots outperform humans in most cases.
B. Bots can handle complex requests better.
C. Bots and humans seem more alike in fairness.
D. Bots perform worse than humans in good deals.
11. What is the researchers’ attitude towards the AI “bad guy”/human “good guy” approach?
A. Supportive. B. Subjective.
C. Opposed. D. Cautious.
B 9. D 10. C 11. D
根据文章第一段“But a new study paints a more different picture: when communicating a disappointing offer, a bot gets better results.(但一项新的研究却呈现出了截然不同的情况:在传达令人失望的消息时,机器人反而能取得更好的效果。)”
根据文章第二段“Among those offered the similarly priced ticket, the type of agent made no difference to acceptance rates. But among participants offered the higher-priced ticket, just 19% of those interacting with a person wanted to buy it, while 49% of those interacting with a bot did.(在那些被提供价格相似的门票的人中,代理人的类型对接受率没有影响。但在被提供高价门票的参与者中,只有19%与真人互动的人想买,而与机器人互动的49%的人想买。)”可知,研究人员是通过比较接受率来进行第一个实验的。故选D。
【10题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第三段中“People thought bots were more fair with bad news (less selfish than humans) but less generous with good news (not as kind as humans).(人们认为机器人在传达坏消息时更公平(比人类更无私),但在好消息上则不那么慷慨(不如人类友善))”以及“However, this difference became smaller when the bot had human features like a name or face.(然而,当机器人有名字或脸这样的人类特征时,这种差异就变得小了)”可知,当机器人具有人类特征时,人们认为机器人和人类在公平性上更为相似。
根据文章最后一段“‘Our results reveal that an AI ‘bad guy’/human ‘good guy’ approach to managing disappointment should have beneficial results, when informing customers about unexpected delays or upgrades,’ the researchers wrote. However, they add a warning: ‘In those cases where the worse-than-expected offer is objectively harmful to consumers, the use of this approach raises moral concerns.’(研究人员写道:“我们的研究结果表明,在向客户通报意外延误或升级情况时,采用人工智能‘坏人’/人类‘好人’的应对方式来处理客户的失望情绪,应该会带来有益的结果。”不过,他们也提出了一项警告:“但在那些预期结果比实际情况更糟糕、对消费者造成客观损害的情况下,采用这种应对方式会引发道德方面的担忧。”)”可知,研究人员对AI“坏人”/人类“好人”的方法持谨慎态度,既看到了其有益的一面,也看到了可能引发的道德问题。D选项“Cautious.(谨慎的)”符合题意。故选D。

Most of us learn how to ride a bike during childhood. But as we grow older, many of us stop riding and put those once-beloved bikes away. Years later, when we discover these old things and jump on, it’s as if we never stopped biking. This is surprising because our memories fall short in so many other cases, such as remembering the name of a place or a person we once knew or where we put our keys. So how is it that we can ride a bicycle when we haven’t done so in years?
The answer has to do with what kinds of memories we’re making. Neuropsychologist (神经心理学家) Boris Suchan explains that we have two different kinds of long-term memory: declarative and procedural. Within declarative memory are two subtypes: episodic (情景的) and semantic (语义的) memory. Episodic memory is the recall of an event in your life, like going to a concert or falling into a hole. Semantic memory, also known as factual memory, is knowing that World War II ended in 1945.
But acquiring a skill is part of procedural memory. Learning how to drive, play a sport, or ride a bike are all activities that are stored in another part of the brain. In theory, it would be possible to suffer a brain injury that could steal your memory of riding a bike but keep the part that knows how to ride the bike. Supposing the brain part which processes non-declarative memory, is unharmed, you’ll be able to ride a bicycle without incident. But why is procedural memory so strong? That’s less clear to science, although one reason, Suchan writes, is that the regions in the brain where movement patterns are formed experience less nerve cell (神经细胞) turnover, helping to keep recall of those actions.
That’s why you can always jump on a bike but not necessarily remember that movie. Do you still remember the moment when you first learned how to ride a bike?
12. What does the underlined phrase “fall short” in paragraph I probably mean?
A. Fail. B. Match. C. Flash. D. Vary.
13. Which of the following belongs to semantic memory?
A. Mastering swimming skills. B. Recalling a birthday party.
C. Knowing the capital of France. D. Picking up a foreign language.
14. What can be learned about procedural memory in paragraph 3?
A. It is less likely to be forgotten. B. It is easily damaged by brain injuries.
C. It is well-understood by scientist. D. It has more frequent nerve cell turnover.
15. What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To introduce a new discovery. B. To argue for a particular viewpoint.
C. To describe a personal experience. D. To explain reasons for a phenomenon.
A 13. C 14. A 15. D
根据第一段中的“This is surprising because our memories fall short in so many other cases, such as remembering the name of a place or a person we once knew or where we put our keys.(这很令人惊讶,因为我们的记忆在很多其他情况下会fall short,比如记住一个地方的名字、一个我们曾经认识的人,或者我们把钥匙放在哪里。)” 故选A项。
根据第二段中的“Semantic memory, also known as factual memory, is knowing that World War II ended in 1945.(语义记忆,也被称为事实记忆,是知道第二次世界大战于1945年结束。)”
根据第三段中的“But why is procedural memory so strong? That’s less clear to science, although one reason, Suchan writes, is that the regions in the brain where movement patterns are formed experience less nerve cell (神经细胞) turnover, helping to keep recall of those actions.(但为什么程序性记忆如此强大呢?这对科学来说还不太清楚,尽管苏坎写道,一个原因是大脑中形成运动模式的区域经历的神经细胞更新较少,这有助于保持对这些动作的回忆。)”可知,程序性记忆不太可能被遗忘。故选A项。
通读全文,尤其是第一段中的“So how is it that we can ride a bicycle when we haven’t done so in years?(那么,为什么我们多年不骑自行车,却还能骑呢?)”以及第二段中的“The answer has to do with what kinds of memories we’re making.(答案与我们正在形成的记忆类型有关。)”

Maintain appropriate eye contact.
When someone is talking to you, make and hold eye contact so they know you’ re taking in what they’ re saying. ____17____ Studies show the ideal amount of eye contact is about 3 seconds at a time; longer periods of direct eye contact may make the other person uncomfortable.

Provide proper feedback.
You might be a great listener, but your conversation partner may not realize it if you don’t show them. Nodding now and again and offering an “mmhmm” or “I see” can help them know that you care. _____19_____
Meaningful questions deepen conversations and show genuine interest. ____20____ This encourages the speaker to reflect and elaborate, making the discussion more productive. 【36
故填where。

For Jake, the journey from high school to college had never seemed so challenging. The real world— the campus life he had heard so much about, the decisions on what to study, what career to pursue, and how to find his place— felt like a heavy weight on his chest. He had no clue what his future held.
One afternoon, Jake’s mom suggested he spend some time volunteering at the community center. “It might be a good way to take your mind off things,” she said. At first, he resisted. Volunteering didn't sound like the right way to prepare for college. He needed to focus on his future, not wasting time helping others. But eventually, he agreed unwillingly.
When Jake first arrived at the center, the atmosphere felt unfamiliar but warm. It was a small, comfortable space with colorful walls, art supplies, and kids playing in the corner. He was assigned to help with the kids’ art class. The first few days were uneventful. Jake just sat back, passing out crayons, organizing the art supplies, and occasionally offering a word of encouragement to the kids.
But one particular day, a girl caught his attention. Her name was Layla, and she was sitting in the corner, quietly staring down at a blank canvas (画布), with her hands wrapped tightly around a paintbrush. Her brush paused above the canvas as if she were waiting for permission to make the first mark.
Jake had no experience with art and didn’t know how to guide Layla. But something about her hesitation touched his heart. He walked over to her and asked, “Hey, Layla, what's going on? Why aren't you painting?” She looked up at him with large brown eyes, then down at her hands, which were holding the paintbrush tightly but not moving. “I’m not good at it,” she replied. “I don’t know how to make it look like what’s in my mind.”
注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Jake sat beside her, smiling.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As Layla’s confidence grew, Jake felt a shift within himself.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Jake sat beside her, smiling. “You know, Layla,” he said gently, “art isn’t about making something look perfect. It’s about expressing what’s inside you. There’s no right or wrong way to paint. Just close your eyes and think about that beautiful thing in your mind, then let the brush move freely on the canvas.” Layla listened intently, her eyes fixed on Jake. Slowly, she took a deep breath and made the first stroke. Jake watched with encouragement, nodding and offering words of praise for each new color she added. Bit by bit, a beautiful landscape emerged on the canvas.
As Layla’s confidence grew, Jake felt a shift within himself. He realized that helping others could bring such a sense of fulfillment. The joy on Layla’s face when she finally saw her completed painting was like a light bulb going off in his head. He understood that his own future didn’t have to be a burden. Just as he had guided Layla to express herself, he could also find his own path step by step. Volunteering wasn’t a waste of time at all. It was a chance to learn, grow, and see the world from a different perspective. From that day on, Jake was no longer weighed down by the unknowns of his future. Instead, he was excited to explore new possibilities and make a difference, just like he did for Layla.

Next, Moyun plans to play modern songs from different types of music using the guzheng, challenging ideas about traditional Chinese instruments. With a focus on finger-style techniques and original compositions, she aims to expand what the guzheng can do. “Don’t limit yourself — explore more,” she said.
4. What did Moyun do after her sudden success?
A. She quit her studies. B. She changed her performing style.
C She turned a professional.
D. Generous.
C
Research has shown that consumers often would rather interact with human agents (代理人) than robotic ones. But a new study paints a more different picture: when communicating a disappointing offer a bot gets better results.
A. Supportive. B. Subjective.
C. Opposed. D. Cautious.
D

注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
