Inspired by his idol (偶像), Corey “Thunder Law,” he hopes to be the first to make a trick shot in a basketball hoop (架) at the highest point in Australia. Hudson’s journey began on a challenging note. Born at just 31 weeks, he faced a series of hardships right from the start. The first two years of his life were marked by frequent hospital stays and over 40 operations. Doctors predicted that he might never walk, talk, or lead a life as normal as going to school. But Hudson refused to be limited by these predictions. Despite his condition, he’s always been full of life and humor. Even during his long hospital days, playing with a ball brought him great joy, offering a bit of normal life in a difficult time. Last week, receiving an inspiring video from Thunder made Hudson even more determined. Since then, Hudson has been training arduously for weeks. From February 7-9, as part of the Krazy Kosci Klimb, he will start an 18km journey to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. To complete this challenging journey, he’ll rely on a walking frame and an off-road wheelchair. The Cerebral Palsy Alliance has been a huge help. They not only helped Hudson’s family understand what he could achieve but also assisted him in getting fit. Thanks to sponsor Multiplex, Hudson’s team is leading the fundraising efforts, having already raised over $82,000 for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Hudson is eagerly looking forward to the challenge. For Hudson, it’s another exciting adventure; for his family, it’s an opportunity to demonstrate that there are no limits to what he can achieve. 4 How did the ball affect Hudson’s life? A. The Help from the Alliance C Nowadays, robots are being used more and more in schools, changing the way students learn. To begin with, in many classrooms, robots work as teaching helpers by adjusting their teaching speed to match each student’s level. A 2024 study from Beijing Normal University with 1,200 students found that using robot helpers improved test scores by 15% on average, because they could give quick answers and special exercises for each student. Moreover, robots used in teaching science and math can help students learn better than traditional ways, such as Scratch, a platform teaching programming in a fun way. However, robots also bring problems. For example, they could make students confused when making mistakes. A report in The Times in May 2025 showed that 60% of UK students believed the robot even when it gave wrong answers. As a result, although robots can help with learning, they sometimes make mistakes and need teachers to correct them. As education expert Professor Wang Li says, “Robots can help students learn, but they can never take the place of real teachers. Teachers don’t just teach facts — they understand students’ feelings and can encourage them in ways robots never can.” Even so, robots are clearly making education better in many ways. They can do easy teaching jobs, giving teachers more time to help students with difficult ideas. The best way is to use robots and teachers together, as robots can deal with easy tasks while teachers focus on the important parts. In the future, we will probably see more robots in classrooms, but they should be used as tools to help teachers, not to replace them. After all, good education needs both modern technology and the human touch that only real teachers can provide. 8. What can robots do in classrooms according to paragraph 1? A. Teach students how to build robots. B. Grade all student exams automatically. C. Replace teachers in parent-teacher meetings. D. Provide quick answers and personal exercises. 9. What does Professor Wang Li think of robots in education? A. They will soon replace human teachers. B. They are better at encouraging students. C. They can’t understand students’ feelings. D. They should only teach science and math. 10. What does the author suggest about using robots? A. Robots should focus on difficult tasks. B. Schools must buy more advanced robots. C. Robots and teachers should work together. D. Teachers should stop using robots completely. 11. Where is this passage most likely to be taken from? A. A travel blog. B. An education report. C. A science fiction novel. D. A robot instruction book. D The Amazon rainforest in Brazil is a wonderful place, home to a large number of colorful plants and animals. A Brazilian biologist is now working to make the rainforest safer for the many primate (灵长类) species that live in it. She’s achieving her mission by building canopy (雨棚) bridges across a major highway. Brazil has the fourth-largest road network in the world, and is home to the BR-174, a 2,000-mile highway that winds through the Amazon rainforest. Unfortunately, these roads also cause a huge threat to the wildlife in the diverse area. It is reported that 475 million back-boned animals are killed in road accidents every year in Brazil. This is where Fernanda Abra comes in. Together with her team, Abra has set up 30 canopy bridges made of rope along the BR-174. Each bridge is monitored with two cameras, which capture the scenes of animals coming near. The researchers found that animals began using the bridges within 30 days of their setting-up. Five hundred crossings have been recorded over an 11-month period. Abra and her team got help from the native Waimiri-Atroari people. Their territory, which extends over 2.3 million hectares, is one of the most well-protected regions in the Amazon. It is also cut through by the BR-174. It has been a long and difficult struggle, but now more than 150 Waimiri-Atroari people have helped construct and set up the bridges along around 77 miles of the highway. Abra and her team hope to expand the project to Alta Floresta, a town in the state of Mato Grosso. Of the eight primate species that live in the area, five are in danger of extinction due to loss of habitat, separation, and road accidents. Abra’s goal is to train workers in federal transport and environmental agencies in nine states in the Brazilian Amazon to establish a culture of sustainable infrastructure Sometimes the solutions to what seem to be difficult problems can actually be very simple. The bridges may save thousands of lives and help keep the Amazon and its amazing, diverse, and rich ecosystem alive. 12. Why does Fernanda Abra construct canopy bridges? A. To save primate species. B. To develop local tourism. C. To make the highway safer. D. To study the rainforest better. 13. How do the cameras on the canopy bridges work? A. They prevent road accidents. B. They monitor the bridge’s safety. C. They record animals’ approaching. D. They count the number of animals. 14. What can we infer about the BR-174? A. It has a positive effect on wildlife. B. It’s the longest highway in Brazil. C. It was put up by the native people. D. It divides some well-preserved areas. 15. What’s Abra intended to do? A. She wants to create more jobs. B. She plans to move to other states. C. She hopes to stop road construction. D. She aims to improve infrastructure culture. Easy Ways to Know Yourself Knowing yourself helps you live better. Inspired by his idol (偶像), Corey “Thunder Law,” he hopes to be the first to make a trick shot in a basketball hoop (架) at the highest point in Australia. Hudson’s journey began on a challenging note. Born at just 31 weeks he faced a series of hardships right from the start. D 9. C 10. C 11. 根据第一段中“A 2024 study from Beijing Normal University with 1,200 students found that using robot helpers improved test scores by 15% on average, because they could give quick answers and special exercises for each student.(北京师范大学2024年对1200名学生进行的一项研究发现,使用机器人助手可使平均考试成绩提高15%,因为它们可以为每个学生提供快速答案和特殊练习)”可知,机器人可以为每个学生提供快速答案和特殊练习。 根据第二段中“As education expert Professor Wang Li says, “Robots can help students learn, but they can never take the place of real teachers. Abra’s goal is to train workers in federal transport and environmental agencies in nine states in the Brazilian Amazon to establish a culture of sustainable infrastructure (基础设施). Sometimes the solutions to what seem to be difficult problems can actually be very simple. 【答案】12. A 13. C 14. D 15. Among the two topics you proposed, I would like to choose “A few true friends are enough”. In my opinion, the quality of friendships far outweighs the quantity. True friends are those who stand by us through thick and thin. They are the ones who truly know us, accepting both our strengths and weaknesses. Having too many friends may spread your energy thin, making it hard to maintain deep connections. Therefore, I believe that a few true friends are indeed enough to enrich our lives and bring us true happiness. Yours, Li Hua 【解析】 【导语】本篇书面表达属于应用文。要求考生就给定的两个话题做出选择,并写邮件向外教Frank说明选择及理由。 【详解】1. 词汇积累 依我看来:in my opinion→from my point of view 支持:stand by→support 困难的:hard→difficult 因此:therefore→thus 2. 句式拓展 简单句变复合句 原句:Having too many friends may spread your energy thin, making it hard to maintain deep connections. 拓展句:Having too many friends may spread your energy thin, which makes it hard to maintain deep connections. 【点睛】【高分句型1】True friends are those who stand by us through thick and thin. (运用了who引导的限制性定语从句) 【高分句型2】Therefore, I believe that a few true friends are indeed enough to enrich our lives and bring us true happiness. (运用了that引导的宾语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Douglas, who loves painting, lives alone in her old house. But for Douglas, it’s home. She’s lived there for as long as she can remember. Every morning, Douglas wakes up to the sound of birds singing outside her window. She makes herself a cup of tea and sits on the porch(门廊), watching the world go by. She loves chatting with the neighbors as they pass by, sharing stories and laughter. Despite living alone, she never feels truly lonely. One day, a young man named Jack moves into the house next door. He’s a college student, full of life and energy. At first, Douglas is a bit shy around him. She’s used to her quiet life and isn’t sure how to talk to this young, lively neighbor. But Jack is friendly and keeps trying. He often stops by to help her with small jobs around the house, like fixing a dripping tap or cutting the grass. Slowly but surely, Douglas starts to like him. As time goes on, Douglas and Jack become good friends. Jack listens carefully as Douglas tells him stories about her past, and Douglas is always interested in Jack’s college experiences. They spend many evenings on the porch, enjoying the sunset and each other’s company. Jack even helps Douglas set up a small garden in her backyard, planting colorful flowers and vegetables. This shared project makes their friendship stronger, and Douglas feels more alive than she has in years. However, one day, Jack comes to Douglas with some unexpected news. He’s been given a great chance to do an internship (实习) in a faraway city, which means he has to leave right away. Douglas is heartbroken. She feels like she's losing the only real friend she’s had in a long time. For the first time in a while, she really feels alone. She tries to be happy for Jack, but she has a tight feeling in her throat and can hardly talk. She spends the next few days feeling lost, worrying about the day he’ll leave. 注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Despite her sadness, Douglas knows she has to be strong. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Two months later, Jack suddenly visits Douglas, amazed by her paintings. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Despite her sadness, Douglas knows she has to be strong. She decides to throw herself into her painting, which she has loved for years. With Jack’s departure, she spends long hours in her small studio, using colors and brushes to express her emotions. Through painting, she finds a way to relieve her loneliness. She also starts sharing her paintings with the neighbors, who are full of praise. This gives her a new sense of purpose and makes her realize that there are still many beautiful things in her life. Two months later, Jack suddenly visits Douglas, amazed by her paintings. He tells her that during his internship, he often thought of their time together and how much she inspired him. He is deeply impressed by the progress she has made in painting. Douglas is overjoyed to see him. They sit on the porch, just like before, chatting and laughing. Jack encourages her to hold an exhibition of her paintings. Inspired by his words, Douglas starts to look forward to a new chapter in her life, with their friendship remaining as strong as ever. 1】She decides to throw herself into her painting, which she has loved for years.(运用了 which 引导的非限制性定语从句) 【高分句型 2】He tells her that during his internship, he often thought of their time together and how much she inspired him.(运用了 that 引导的宾语从句,其中包含 how much 引导的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
