“Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are …”
The sweet sound of the well-known childhood song came out of the village office in Gaozhuang in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui autonomous region. Inside, a small group of children were learning to play the guitar with Song Hao, deputy curator(副馆长) of Zhongwei Museum.
Song is 48 years and was born into an artistic family. He received strict musical training as a child and was quite good at playing the guitar and composing music. He had a wish to do what he could with his own music to make the world a brighter place for the children. In June last year, he found an opportunity to turn that wish into reality.
He was chosen to take part in rural vitalization(振兴) work in Gaozhuang for two years, and in his spare time, he started teaching village children to play the guitar.
“There’s something really magical about music,” he said, remembering that when he played for the children, many had twinkles in their eyes.
Song asked them if they wanted to learn to play, and they all said “Yes”, so he started a free class to teach them on weekends and during the summer and winter holidays. He paid for 20 guitars and music textbooks from his own pocket and began to teach them the basics, like how to pluck(弹拨) the strings and read music.
The children loved the classes so much that they would arrive at the village office early to wait for Song. Over the past six months, a number of children have learned to play entire pieces, and Song said that he could feel the happiness and confidence that learning to play music had brought to them.
Shen Mingyi, Shen Huihong’s father, spoke highly of Song and his guitar class, saying that his daughter had become more extroverted as a result.
24. What did Song Hao do during his spare time in Gaozhuang?

26. What does the underlined word “extroverted” mean in the last paragraph?
A. Polite. B. Outgoing.
C. Anxious. D. Confused.
27. Which of the following can best describe Song Hao?

A friend of mine met with an accident driving in darkness. His legs were so hurt that he couldn’t move. What was the worst was that he found himself unable to ask for help—his mobile phone went out of work. Nothing could be done but to wait in cold wilderness. 8 hours later, day broke, and then the rescue arrived.
It is almost unimaginable that he could stand the horror in the darkness for so long. Even more surprising was his explanation: “First of all I checked up my physical conditions and found myself not in fatal danger. As there was no way to call for help, I leaned back in my seat trying my best to keep the wound from bleeding. In this way I dozed (打盹) off.”
His story put an end to my regret for the failure of an exploration adventure that happened last year. A group of young men tried to explore a mountain cave and got lost. Unable to find a way out in the dark cave they were frightened and ran anxiously without a sense of direction. Finally they fell dead in fear and exhaustion. The place where they got lost was only about 10 meters away from the opening of the cave! If they tried to calm themselves, they would probably sense a faint light shining not far away.
Don’t you think that you can compare it with life itself? When you meet with obstacles (障碍) in life and work, you are lost in darkness. Mind you it’s unclear yet and you needn’t put up struggle immediately. But a person who can afford to do so must have foresight as well as a great courage.
28. What was the greatest trouble for the writer’s friend?
A. It was very dark. B. He was hurt and couldn’t move.
C. He couldn’t get help with his mobile phone. D. It was very cold.
29. What did the writer’s friend do when he was waiting for help?
A. He checked his physical conditions. B. He tried to keep his wound from bleeding.
C. He slept for a while. D. All the above.
30. How did the writer’s friend feel when he was waiting for help?
A. Horrible. B. Worried. C. Angry. D. Calm.
31. What can we learn from the story?
A. No matter what happens, all want to cool and calm.
B. Hard work paid off.
C Kill two birds with one stone.
D. No pains, no gains
D
Urban expansion (城市扩张) has greatly changed the habitats of many animals. Forests are cut down to build houses, rivers are changed to provide water for big cities, and pollution is now a serious problem for many ecosystems. These actions force animals to get used to city life, often causing conflicts when they enter areas where people live to find food or a place to stay.
Environmentalists say that it’s important to create special places called wildlife reserves. These reserves protect animals that are in danger and help keep different kinds of life in nature. Wildlife reserves are like safe homes where animals and plants can live and grow without being bothered by people. Studies show that animals in these protected areas survive better, which helps maintain balance in nature. Every animal, from small insects to large animals, plays an important role in keeping the ecosystem healthy.
In addition to reserves, people are also working on setting up “wildlife corridors.” These are protected paths between places animals live in, which allow animals to migrate safely. Without such corridors, animal groups that live alone in one place lose genetic diversity (基因多样性), which makes them more likely to die out. For instance, large predators like tigers and wolves need big space to hunt and survive. Corridors offer these animals freedom to move around without entering human spaces.
Protecting biodiversity (生物多样性) not only benefits animals but also supports human life. Healthy ecosystems control water flow, clean the air, and stops the climate change, all of which are extremely important for human survival. Therefore, protection efforts not only focus on saving different species, but also making sure our environment stays healthy for everyone.
32. What is one main result of urban expansion on wildlife?
A. Fewer people in cities. B. Fewer human activities.
C. Damage to animal habitats. D. More places for animals to live.
33. What is the purpose of wildlife reserves?
A. To attract more tourists.
B. To create jobs for local people.
C. To protect animals from human bothering them.
D. To allow humans to connect with animal.
34. What is the author’s attitude toward creating wildlife reserves and corridors?
A. Supportive. B. Concerned. C. Indifferent. D. Questioning.
35. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Animals don’t need migration paths as they can get used to cities.
B. Cities should replace habitats to create more space for humans.
C. Urban growth has little effect on animals as they can find new homes.
D. Wildlife reserves and corridors help protect animals and ecosystems.

M: You can say that, but the ship officer is a little unusual.
W: Well, he is a little unusual, but the ship doctor is amazing. He's so cool when he brings the captain back to life.
M: That is pretty exciting, but the photography is so false.
W: How do you know that? You were breathing so noisily while sleeping, and the neighbors probably felt very angry.
M: No, I wasn't sleeping. You must be cheating. Well, I'm going to the restroom.

Song is 48 years and was born into an artistic family. He received strict musical training as a child and was quite good at playing the guitar and composing music.

30 How did the writer’s friend feel when he was waiting for help?
A. Horrible. B. Worried. C. Angry. D. Calm.
31. What can we learn from the story?
A. No matter what happens, all want to cool and calm.
B. Hard work paid off.
C. Kill two birds with one stone.
D. No pains, no gains
C 29. D 30. D 31. A

C 33. C 34. A 35. D

故答案为which/that。
分析句意可知,女士的这句回答可用于回答前文小男孩的问题“Did anyone lose a suitcase at the last stop? (有人在上个站丢了一个箱子吗?)”,如果她回答“是我(丢了箱子)。”,则回答应该是“It’s me. (是我。)”。 。故答案为mine/me。

One evening, a truly ugly old man came. Extremely politely, he said, “Good evening. I’m wondering if you have a room for just one night. I came for treatment from the eastern shore (海岸), and there’s no bus till the morning.” He told me he’d been searching for a room since noon, but failed because of his face.
For a moment, I hesitated (犹豫), not only because there was no room left. But his following words convinced (说服了) me: “I could sleep on the floor. I’ll leave early in the morning.”
By chatting with him, I knew he fished for a living to support a big family. But what touched me most was that instead of complaining, he was grateful that his disease didn’t bring him terrible pain.
At bedtime, we put a bed in the children’s room for him. The next morning, he got up early and asked if he could come again. I told him he would be welcome.

根据第二段“One evening, a truly ugly old man came. Extremely politely, he said, “Good evening. I’m wondering if you have a room for just one night. I came for treatment from the eastern shore (海岸), and there’s no bus till the morning.” (一天晚上,一个非常丑陋的老人来了。他彬彬有礼地说:“晚上好。我不知道你们是否有一晚的房间。我从东海岸来治疗,早上才会有公交车。”)”可知这位老人正在找住的地方,所以空1考查ask for,描述过去的事情,ask用一般过去时; 空2表明老人很礼貌,修饰动词spoke,用副词politely;根据第三段“For a moment, I hesitated (犹豫), not only because there was no room left. But his following words convinced (说服了) me: “I could sleep on the floor. I’ll leave early in the morning.” (我犹豫了一会儿,不仅因为没有地方了。但他接下来的话说服了我:“我可以睡在地板上。我明天一大早就走。”)”可知空3为接受,接在want后,用不定式作宾语,所以是to accept,空4为改变,为动词change,描述过去的事情,用一般过去时,所以是changed,空5为动词同意,为动词agree,描述过去的事情,用一般过去时,所以是agreed;根据第四段“By chatting with him, I knew he fished for a living to support a big family. But what touched me most was that instead of complaining, he was grateful that his disease didn’t bring him terrible pain. (通过和他的聊天,我知道他以捕鱼为生来养活一个大家庭。但最让我感动的是,他没有抱怨,而是感激他的病没有给他带来可怕的痛苦。)”可知空6为困难的,用形容词hard,空7为抱怨,应用动词complain,描述过去的事情,用一般过去时,所以是complained,空8为感动,应用动词move,应用一般过去时,并且主语和谓语是被动关系,用被动语态,所以是was moved;根据最后一段“At bedtime, we put a bed in the children’s room for him. The next morning, he got up early and asked if he could come again. I told him he would be welcome. (睡觉的时候,我们在孩子的房间里给他放了一张床。第二天早上,他起得很早,问能不能再来。我告诉他欢迎他。)”可知空9为睡觉,为动词sleep,描述过去的事情,用一般过去时,所以是slept,空10为欢迎,应用名词作宾,所以是welcome;故填asked;politely;to accept;changed;agreed;hard;complained;was moved;slept;welcome。
【67题详解】
考查推理判断。根据第二段“Extremely politely, he said, “Good evening. I’m wondering if you have a room for just one night. I came for treatment from the eastern shore (海岸), and there’s no bus till the morning.” (他彬彬有礼地说:“晚上好。我不知道你们是否有一晚的房间。我从东海岸来治疗,早上才会有公交车。”)”和第四段“By chatting with him, I knew he fished for a living to support a big family. But what touched me most was that instead of complaining, he was grateful that his disease didn’t bring him terrible pain. (通过和他的聊天,我知道他以捕鱼为生来养活一个大家庭。但最让我感动的是,他没有抱怨,而是感激他的病没有给他带来可怕的痛苦。)” 可知这个老人是负责的,努力的,积极的,感恩的,故填He is responsible /hardworking, positive and grateful/thankful.
根据最后一段“The next morning, he got up early and asked if he could come again. I told him he would be welcome. (第二天早上,他起得很早,问能不能再来。我告诉他欢迎他。)”可知有两种可能性,一种是老人认为作者很善良,也真诚地欢迎他来,另一种是老人认为作者太善良,不好意思来再次打扰,故填Yes, he will. Because he thinks the writer is very kind and will sincerely welcome him./No, he won’t. Because he thinks the writer is so kind that he can’t bother the writer anymore.
She may feel lucky/happy/inspired to know him, because she learned how to be thankful/grateful and positive from him.

I’m glad I can help. Making a specific plan for your life and study is a good way to improve yourself. The plan can work as a reminder of your goals and keep you focused on what you truly value.
To make the plan effective, you need to establish short-term and long-term goal for study and figure out what you need to do for each subject. Then prioritize the tasks and divide up available time. Also, set aside time for relaxing activities and physical exercise.
Once your plan is made, stick to it!
