For those seeking both adventure and work-life balance, the following 4 places may be a perfect start. Indonesia Bali, a famous island in Indonesia, attracts travelers with its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Known for its beautiful beaches and unique bamboo buildings, Bali is also a center for health and wellness. Many people go there not only to work, but also to relax and improve their well-being. Thailand Thailand has become a top choice for remote workers, especially after launching a new visa for digital nomads in 2024. The country is known for its low living costs, delicious street food, and rich culture. Cities like Chiang Mai offer shared work and living spaces, while islands like Phuket and Koh Phangan provide quiet spots close to nature. Vietnam Vietnam is another great option, offering free Wi-Fi in many cafés and a ninety-day visa for remote workers. Its cities are busy and exciting, while its countryside has green rice fields and high mountains. The cost of living is low, and the food is both cheap and tasty. Portugal Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is popular among young people who want to live and work abroad. The city is known for its beautiful streets, lively cafés, and active creative community. Many co-working spaces and social events make it easy to connect with others. 1. Why is Bali attractive to digital nomads? A. It has modern co-working spaces. B. It combines work with wellness. C. It gives the fastest internet access. D. It offers better living conditions. 2. Which country best supports social connection among digital nomads? A. Indonesia. B. Thailand. C. Vietnam. D. Portugal. 3. What does the text intend to do? A. Introduce ideal places for digital nomads. B. Compare living costs in different countries. C. Show the trend toward working remotely. D. Starting ballet at nine, she joined the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy and quickly rose to fame. By 16, she had claimed gold at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition and joined National Ballet of China at 17. Her breakthrough came when she starred in Romeo and Juliet shortly after joining the company. “That’s when I truly fell in love with ballet,” she recalled. Known for her technical excellence and dedication, she often practiced over 12 hours daily to perfect multiple roles. “Ballet isn’t just a job— it’s my life’s purpose,” she said. However, her career faced a crisis in 2013 during a performance of The Little Mermaid, where she suffered a severe spinal injury. “My sacrum was distorted. I almost quit,” she admitted. For two years, she underwent painful recovery while starring in a war-themed film, Ballet in the Flames of War. “I refused to give up,” she explained. Returning to the stage in 2015, she shifted her focus from technical perfection to emotional storytelling. “Though my injury limits some moves, I now express deeper feelings through dance,” she said. Her performances gained international acclaim as she toured globally with National Ballet of China. “Sharing Chinese ballet worldwide is my greatest pride, and dance has become part of my soul,” she emphasized. Her story highlights the sacrifices behind artistic success. While admitting ballet demands extraordinary commitment, she finds joy in its rewards. “Every drop of sweat is worth it when I step onto the stage,” she said. Today, she continues to inspire as both a dancer and a symbol of resilience, proving that passion can overcome even the toughest challenges. 4. Now, humanity is rapidly integrating a totally different kind of mistake-maker into society: artificial intelligence (AI). Technologies like large language models (LLMs) can perform many cognitive (认知的) tasks traditionally fulfilled by humans, but they make plenty of mistakes. Unlike human mistakes, AI errors lack patterns and usually show invisibility even when they are incorrect. This situation indicates two possible areas of research. The first is to engineer LLMs that make more human-like mistakes. The second is to build new mistake-correcting systems that deal with the specific sorts of mistakes that LLMs tend to make. We already have some tools to lead LLMs to act in more human-like ways and the tools perform far better than we expected. Many of these arise from the field of “alignment” research, which aims to make models act in accordance with the goals and motivations of their human developers. One example is the technique that was arguably responsible for the breakthrough success of an app: reinforcement (强化) learning with human feedback. In this method, an AI model is rewarded for producing responses that get a thumbs-up from human evaluators. When it comes to catching AI mistakes, some of the systems that we use to prevent human mistakes will help. To an extent, forcing LLMs to double-check their own work can help prevent errors. But LLMs can also make up seemingly reasonable, but truly ridiculous explanations for their flights from reason. In addition, other mistake reduction systems for AI are also unlike anything we use for humans. Because machines can’t get tired or frustrated in the way that humans do, it can help to ask an LLM the same question repeatedly in slightly different ways and then combine its multiple responses. These differences highlight the need for new, custom-made correction mechanisms (机制) that match the unique nature of AI-ensuring these technologies can be safely and reliably integrated into human societies. 8. How are AI mistakes different from human mistakes? A They are not easy to detect. B. They follow predictable patterns. C. They tend to be in larger numbers. D. They are not related to cognitive tasks. 9. What does the author want to stress about the tools for leading the behavior of LLMs? A. They have certain positive effects. B. Their application hasn’t been popular. C. They need further training for human evaluators’ rewards. D. Their goals have not met the original intentions of human developers. 10. What can be inferred from the last two paragraphs? A. AI mistakes are easier to fix than human errors. B. Humans require tailored solutions for AI errors. C. AI is able to copy any systems we use for humans. D. Systems for correcting human mistakes can prevent LLMs mistakes fully. 11. What is the the best title for the text? A. Why Is AI Always Right? B. When Do Human Errors Increase? C. Adapting to AI Error Patterns D. Making AI Mistakes Manageable 【答案】8. A 9. A 10. B 11. 根据第二段末句“Unlike human mistakes, AI errors lack patterns and usually show invisibility even when they are incorrect.(与人类的错误不同,人工智能的错误缺乏规律,即便出错也往往难以察觉)”可知,人工智能的错误不太容易被发现。故选A项。 根据第四段中的“We already have some tools to lead LLMs to act in more human-like ways and the tools perform far better than we expected.(我们已经有一些工具能让大型语言模型以更像人类的方式行事,而且这些工具的表现远远超出了我们的预期)”和“One example is the technique that was arguably responsible for the breakthrough success of an app: reinforcement learning with human feedback.(一个例子是某种技术,这种技术或许正是某款应用程序取得突破性成功的关键所在:结合人类反馈的强化学习)”可推断,AI有着积极的作用。故选A项。 根据末段末句“These differences highlight the need for new, custom-made correction mechanisms that match the unique nature of AI-ensuring these technologies can be safely and reliably integrated into human societies.(这些差异凸显了需要建立全新的、定制化的纠正机制,以适应人工智能的独特特性——从而确保这些技术能够安全、可靠地融入人类社会之中)”可推断对于AI的错误,人类需要量身定制解决方案。 根据首段末句“Now, humanity is rapidly integrating a totally different kind of mistake-maker into society: artificial intelligence (如今,人类正迅速将一种截然不同的“错误制造者”引入社会:那就是人工智能)以及末段末句“These differences highlight the need for new, custom-made correction mechanisms that match the unique nature of AI-ensuring these technologies can be safely and reliably integrated into human societies.(这些差异凸显了需要建立全新的、定制化的纠正机制,以适应人工智能的独特特性——从而确保这些技术能够安全、可靠地融入人类社会之中)”,可知本文主要介绍了AI出现的问题及纠正机制,选项D表示“让人工智能犯错变得可控”,适合作文章标题。故选D项。 D Sleep is one of the most fundamental building blocks of life. All animals sleep, from dogs to humans. It has long been known that sleep also plays a significant role in physical and emotional health. But nobody might think that memory and learning are acquired while one is sleeping. However, in fact, the researchers from the University of South Australia have recently found that just the reverse is true. The researchers conducted an experiment with 35 native English speakers. These 35 participants were in the process of learning a mini-language called Mini Pinyan. Half of the students learned the language in the morning and then went on with their days while the other half studied in the evening and then slept at the lab so that the researchers could record their brainwaves. Both groups were tested on their knowledge of Mini Pinyan in the morning, and the group that had slept soon after they studied performed significantly better than those who had not. According to previous research, there are two phases that the brain cycles through when sleeping. The first is called REM sleep. During this phase, which usually takes place about an hour and a half after a person has fallen asleep, brain activity peaks and shows levels similar to when that person is awake. This is when dreams occur. In non-REM sleep, brain activity is low. “Sleep is not just restful; it’s an active, transformative state for the brain,” Dr. Scott Cousins, a researcher of the study, said. They found that the improvements were linked to two types of brainwaves — slow oscillations and sleep spindles, which become coupled during non-REM sleep. The coupling of these brainwaves appears to help the transfer of information from the hippocampus to the cortex (大脑皮层), which is where long-term memory is stored. This is no doubt good news for anyone who wants to study a foreign language. What’s more, the implications of this study could also help improve the lives of those with language-related impairments. Now there is one more reason to get a good night’s sleep. 12. What does the underlined word “reverse” in paragraph 1 mean? A. Descriptive. B. Innovative. C. Opposite. D. Prospective. 13. What does paragraph 2 mainly talk about? A. The setup and result of the experiment. B Health benefits of sleeping in the evening. C. The relationship between brainwaves and memory. D. Differences between morning and evening learning styles. 14. What is a key characteristic of REM sleep? A. Absence of dreams. B. High brain activity. C. Enhancing of memory. D. Frequent information communication. 15. Why did the participants studying before sleeping perform better? A. Morning study was faced with more distractions. B. Their cortex stored memories more efficiently while asleep. C. Physical rest gained from sleep provided them with more energy. D. Non-REM sleep brainwaves helped strengthen long-term memory. 【答案】12. C 13. A 14. B 15. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了南澳大利亚大学的研究人员通过实验发现睡眠对记忆和学习有积极作用,打破了人们以往认为记忆和学习不在睡眠中进行的认知。 【12题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第一段“It has long been known that sleep also plays a significant role in physical and emotional health. But nobody might think that memory and learning are acquired while one is sleeping. However, in fact, the researchers from the University of South Australia have recently found that just the reverse is true. (长期以来,人们都知道睡眠在身心健康中起着重要作用。但可能没人会认为记忆和学习是在睡眠中获得的。然而,事实上,南澳大利亚大学的研究人员最近发现情况恰恰reverse。)” 可知,之前人们认为睡眠中不能获得记忆和学习,而研究发现并非如此,所以“reverse”意思是“相反的”。故选C。 【13题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第二段“The researchers conducted an experiment with 35 native English speakers. These 35 participants were in the process of learning a mini-language called Mini Pinyan. Half of the students learned the language in the morning and then went on with their days, while the other half studied in the evening and then slept at the lab so that the researchers could record their brainwaves. (研究人员对 35 名以英语为母语的人进行了一项实验。这 35 名参与者正在学习一种名为 Mini Pinyan 的迷你语言。一半的学生在早上学习这种语言,然后继续他们的日常活动,而另一半在晚上学习,然后在实验室睡觉,以便研究人员记录他们的脑电波。)” 介绍了实验的设置。以及“Both groups were tested on their knowledge of Mini Pinyan in the morning, and the group that had slept soon after they studied performed significantly better than those who had not. (两组都在早上测试了他们对 Mini Pinyan 的知识,学习后不久就睡觉的那组表现明显好于没有睡觉的那组。)” 说明了实验结果。所以第二段主要关于实验的设置和结果。故选A。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“The first is called REM sleep. During this phase, which usually takes place about an hour and a half after a person has fallen asleep, brain activity peaks and shows levels similar to when that person is awake. (第一个阶段称为快速眼动睡眠(REM 睡眠)。在这个阶段,通常发生在一个人入睡后大约一个半小时,大脑活动达到峰值,显示出与该人清醒时相似的水平。)” 可知,REM 睡眠的一个关键特征是大脑活动水平高。故选B。 【15题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段“They found that the improvements were linked to two types of brainwaves — slow oscillations and sleep spindles, which become coupled during non - REM sleep. The coupling of these brainwaves appears to help the transfer of information from the hippocampus to the cortex (大脑皮层), which is where long-term memory is stored. Confidence is essentially a belief in your own abilities, qualities, and judgment. However, it is something that everyone can do! ___16___ Think positively about yourself and your skills. ___17___ Everyone experiences days when staying positive is tough, but challenge yourself to remember one good thing about yourself each morning until it becomes routine. ___18___ What happens when you do things that you are good at? Your strengths become even stronger, which helps improve your belief in yourself. Taking this approach also has another benefit: It can contribute to a more satisfying life experience. Spend time with positive people. The people around you greatly impact how you feel about yourself. ___19___ If, however, you're interacting with people who can cheer others on and support one another, you'll feel much better. So focus on creating healthier relationships with the positive people in your life. Take care of yourself. Focusing on you and what you need sometimes feel like it's selfish, but it's not! ___20___ Self-care can help you take care of others and also boost your self-confidence. Easy ways to start include taking a break when you're overwhelmed, wearing your favorite outfit, or doing something you love. A. Act as if you feel confident. B. Pursue the things you're skilled at. C. It's an essential part of being humans. D. Begin to boost your self-confidence by these guides. E. It's easier said than done, but daily and positive thoughts can help. F. Actually, it's hard to feel good about yourself if you're abusing your body. G. If judgmental or critical people surround you, it'll weaken your mental strength. 【答案】16. D 17. E 18. B 19. G 20. C 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。本文主要介绍了一些增强自信心的方法,讲述自信是一种对自己的能力、品质和判断力的信任感。 【16题详解】 空处在首段结尾。根据首段第二句“Cultivating confidence is similar to constructing a house.(培养自信就像建造房屋一样)和第四句“However, it is something that everyone can do!(然而,这是每个人都能做的事情)”可知,本段的话题是“自信”。下文各段首句列举了四种提高自信的方法,D项表示“通过这些指导提高你的自信心”,起到承上启下的作用。故选D项。 【17题详解】 空处在第二段主旨句“Think positively about yourself and your skills.(积极地看待自己以及自己的技能)”和后句“Everyone experiences days when staying positive is tough, but challenge yourself to remember one good thing about yourself each morning until it becomes routine.(每个人都会有难以保持积极心态的日子,但试着每天早上都挑战自己去记住自己身上的一点优点,直到这成为一种习惯)”之间,要满足承上启下的作用。E项“It's easier said than done, but daily and positive thoughts can help. (说起来容易做起来难,但每天保持积极的心态会有所帮助。)”符合语境,postive是派生词复现。故选E项。 【18题详解】 空处在句首,是主旨句。观察本文结构,第二至第五段主旨句都在句首且用了祈使句形式,答案锁定在AB中。根据后句“What happens when you do things that you are good at?(当你做自己擅长的事情时,会发生什么呢)”可知,本段的话题要和自己擅长的事情有关,B项表示“追求你擅长的东西)”适合做文章主题。故选B项。 【19题详解】 空处在第四段中第三句。根据前句“The people around you greatly impact how you feel about yourself.(你周围的人会极大地影响你对自己形象的看法)”可知,空要提及身边人的情况来承接上文,G项“如果周围都是爱评判、爱挑剔的人,那会削弱你的精神力量”符合要求。故选G项。 【20题详解】 空处在第四段中第三句。根据后句“Self-care can help you take care of others and also boost your self-confidence. (自我照顾不仅能帮助你照顾他人,还能增强你的自信心)”可知,空要说明自我照顾的好处,C项“这是人类共有的重要特质”符合要求。故选C项。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Someone has done something awesome for you unexpectedly. It's necessary to protect our environment and keep the ecological balance. When we protect nature, we save many plants and animals from extinction. This is good for the planet and for us too, because we depend on nature for clean air, water, and food. Trees and forests can absorb carbon dioxide, which helps reduce global warming. Plus, beautiful nature gives us places to enjoy and relax. I think we should all do our part. We can recycle waste, save energy, and support conservation projects. I believe small actions can make a big difference. For example, we can start by reducing paper waste at school and joining eco-friendly activities. 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇应用文。考生所在校英文报正在举办题为“The meaning of nature conservation”的征文活动。请你结合生活实际写一篇短文投稿。 【详解】1.词汇积累: 保护:protect→preserve 依靠:depend on→reply on 吸收:absorb→take in 减少:reduce→decrease 句式拓展: 同义句 原句:When we protect nature, we save many plants and animals from extinction. 拓展句:By protecting nature, we prevent many plants and animals from going extinct. 【点睛】【高分句型 1】Nature is the home where we live and survive.(运用了 where 引导的定语从句,) 【高分句型 2】Trees and forests can absorb carbon dioxide, which helps reduce global warming.(运用了 which 引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Ellery was in the second grade at Jefferson School. She had a blue backpack and a purple lunchbox. The lunchbox was always filled with something tasty. Ellery’s dad was an excellent cook, and he made sure that Ellery had a healthy lunch to eat every day. One rainy day, Ellery stepped off the school bus and ran quickly to the school door. She went to her classroom and hung up her coat. She put her backpack on its hook. She reached for her lunchbox to put it on the shelf. But her lunchbox was gone! Ellery looked all around, but she couldn’t find her lunchbox. All the morning, Ellery worried about her lunchbox. What would she eat? She didn’t have any money, so she couldn’t buy a sandwich in the lunch line. She would be very hungry without a lunch. How would she make it through the day? When it was time for lunch, Ellery sat down at a table with her friends. She put her head down on the table and started to cry. “What’s wrong?” asked Sophie. “I lost my lunchbox,” Ellery sniffled. “Now I don’t have anything to eat. And ‘'m so hungry!” Sophie patted Ellery on the back and asked, “Would you like a piece of butter bread? I have two.” Sophie gave Ellery a slice of bread. “Thanks,” said Ellery. Patrick and Roderigo sat down at the table with trays (托盘) of food from the lunch line. When they saw that Ellery didn’t have anything to eat, they offered food from their trays. Roderigo handed Ellery a cup of fruit salad. “I don’t need all this,” he said, “so I don’t mind sharing. There are a lot of those berries to go around!” “Take half of my spice cake,” said Patrick. “That’s the best dessert they give us here.” “Thanks, everyone,” said Ellery. And she meant it. It held so many sweet memories of her dad preparing meals with love. “Let’s find your lunchbox” Sophie said firmly, and Patrick and Roderigo nodded in agreement. The four friends first headed to the school’s lost and found office. But the door was locked, and the school staff in charge was nowhere to be seen. They then decided to search the places Ellery had been to that morning. Disappointed but not giving up, they continued their hunt. Roderigo suggested announcing the lost lunchbox over the school broadcast. Shortly after the school broadcast, a girl came for Ellery, holding a purple lunchbox. “I’m so sorry,” she said to Ellery with a shy expression on her face. “My lunchbox looks just like yours, and I grabbed it by mistake this morning.” Ellery forgave her with a smile. All of her friends felt relieved with the lunchbox found. Ellery and the girl ended up chatting and becoming new friends. And from that day on, she not only cherished her lunchbox more but also made it a point to pass on the kindness she had received. 词汇激活 行为类 ①决定做某事:decide to do sth./be determined to do sth. ②宣布:announce/declare ③珍爱:cherish/treasure 情绪类 ①失望的:disappointed/despondent ②宽慰,松了口气:feel relieved/feel a sense of relief 【点睛】【高分句型1】They then decided to search the places Ellery had been to that morning. 4. Why did the dancer continue pursuing ballet despite her injury? A. Ballet became a key part of her identity. B. Her team pressured her to return quickly. C. She extremely desired financial stability. C Humans have always been creating security systems to deal with the sorts of mistakes humans commonly make. A. They are not easy to detect. Making AI Mistakes Manageable D Sleep is one of the most fundamental building blocks of life. Half of the students learned the language in the morning and then went on with their days, while the other half studied in the evening and then slept at the lab so that the researchers could record their brainwaves. She wasn’t hungry anymore, and she felt very happy to have such caring friends. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 After lunch, Ellery still couldn’t let go of her missing lunchbox, which wasn’t just about the food. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shortly after the school broadcast, a girl came for Ellery, holding a purple lunchbox. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
