Tea has long been a popular drink in China. Chinese people love different kinds of tea. Among them, black tea and white tea from Fujian, green tea from Zhejiang and Anhui, and dark tea from Yunnan are some of the favorites.
In the Song Dynasty (960—1279), tea culture reached new heights. The beauty of the Song tea came alive through “dian cha”. Powdered (粉状的) tea was whisked (搅打) with water into soft “clouds”. White tea was often used to make the “clouds” as white as the moonlight. Tea artists used clean water to draw pictures on them with a teaspoon. The way of serving dian cha became a living art. It later influenced Japanese tea culture. Today, more young people are learning and passing it on.
Yunnan’s dark tea, especially Pu’er, got famous because of the Ancient Tea Horse Road. And it won popularity around the world. In 1976, Frenchman Fred Kempler found a new kind of Pu’er from Yunnan in a Hong Kong shop. In the same year, he visited Yunnan, bought nearly two tons, and began to sell “Yunnan Tuocha” in Europe. Since 1986, Yunnan’s Pu’er tuocha has got many prizes at food expos (博览会) in France, America and other countries. Today you can see an old Australian lady holding a cup of tea of sun-dried Pu’er, though she still enjoys her English-style black tea with milk and sugar. Tea is a bridge of friendship among nations and peoples.
Tea is enjoyed timelessly from ancient to modern times. Each cup of dian cha, white as the moonlight, turned tea into art, and art into eternity (永恒). Tea is also loved globally from the east to the west. Each cup of Pu’er, with the smell of sunshine, turns tea into friendship, and friendship into a shared future.

“I wish I had curly hair”, “Id like to be taller”. At times, we all want to look a bit more like someone else. However, the truth is that no two people in the world are exactly the same—and that’s a good thing. Accepting and feeling good about our bodies is really important because you are more than how you look.
Body confidence (自信) means you accept your body and treat it with kindness. That includes your size and shape, skin color, look and any physical disabilities.
If you feel positive (积极的) about your body, you are more likely to take care of it. Research has even shown that you are more likely to take part in activities and perform well in school. However, feeling worried about your body could make you do less well at school and even feel down. If you’re spending a lot of time trying to achieve the “perfect” look, you will have less time to spend with friends and to make important memories.
To develop a positive body image (形象), try not to talk bad about your own body and other people’s bodies. Try not to pay much attention to looks. Instead, think about what your body does for you. Treat your body well by eating different kinds of foods, exercising to feel good and getting plenty of sleep.
24. What do the underlined sentences suggest?
A. People always feel happy with their look.
B. People really want to look exactly like others.
C. People often want to look different from what they are.
D. People only care about making their hair and height better.
25. How should we feel about our bodies according to the passage?
A. Accept and feel good about them.
B. Dislike them because they’re not perfect.
C. Try to change them to look like others.
D. Always compare our bodies with others’.
Which of the following can be put into No. (3) and No. (4)?
Be More Body Confident
What is body confidence?
Accepting and treating your body kindly including your size, shape, skin color, and so on.
Why does body confidence matter?
•It makes you take care of your body and perform well in school.

•(3) ________
(4) ________
•Talk positively about your body and others’ bodies.
•Pay more attention to what your body does for you than look.

Chengdu, a city in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, is the first city in the Chinese mainland to host the World Games (TWG). This big sports event for non-Olympic sports will be held from August 7 to August 17. This is a great chance to show Chinese culture and sports to the world.
Recently, the torch (火炬) for the World Games 2025 Chengdu was shown to the public. It’s called “Zhumeng”, which means “Bamboo Dream” in Chinese and has a pronunciation similar to “chasing dreams”. It is the first torch in TWG’s history.
The design of the torch is a beautiful blend of local culture and Chinese culture. The shape of the torch itself looks like both a tall figure (人像), and it is inspired by the Grand Bronze Standing Figure from the Sanxingdui Ruins in Sichuan. It is a famous relic from the Sanxingdui civilization (文明), one of China’s oldest cultures. Using this figure in the torch design shows the long-standing wisdom of Chinese culture— how different parts can come together as one.
As home to giant pandas, Sichuan has a special connection to bamboo. To show this, the top of the torch is shaped like a young bamboo shoot with two buds (芽) coming out. _________ This symbolizes an open and friendly China welcoming the world.
The torch’s nozzle (喷嘴) also has some special cultural meanings. It is like the Sun-shaped Crown worn by the Bronze Standing Figure found at the Jinsha Site in Chengdu. It not only shows Chengdu’s deep culture, but also gives athletes endless energy, like the sun. It also symbolizes their spirit of wanting to do their best.
At the bottom of the torch, there is a phoenix-shaped bird holding it up. This reminds us of an old saying: “When a holy bird flies and sings, peace is in the world.” It shows China’s cultural traditions and our hope for world peace.

① From social relationships to work difficulties, Chinese people are turning to DeepSeek on different personal matters. They describe their thoughts and receive helpful ideas from the popular chatbot. As a rising choice on social media, AI therapy (疗法) is changing the way people look for mental health support. But can AI truly take the place of a human therapist?
② Across the world, 45 percent of people in 2024 did not receive mental health care because of problems like cost and a short of therapists. Daniel Lowd, a professor at the University of Oregon, believes AI could help solve the short of therapy services. “If people can find some support and solutions on mental health by talking to ChatGPT or other chatbots, then I think that’s wonderful,” Lowd told Newsweek.
③ Li Yong, a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people’s needs for mental support in a way. By using simple mental therapy, DeepSeek can help with small mental problems through comforting replies, Li told Shanghai Observer.
④ However, he points out that AI cannot completely take the place of doctors because of the human touch which is important for mental therapy. Therapists develop a deeper understanding of people’s feelings through communications, which allows them to offer more therapy plans.
⑤ The use of AI in mental therapy also raises worries over its reliability (可靠性).”AI chatbots will give answers as therapists, but without any of the training from a human expert or a tested app,” Richard Lachman, a professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, told Newsweek.
⑥ Experts believe the key to believable AI therapy, first of all, lies in proper government regulation (监管). Wysa, for example, is a mental health app that offers therapy replies by working with an AI chatbot. As AI becomes more a part of our lives, understanding its work on humans’ mental feelings means finding a way between what’s helpful and what’s dangerous, Euronews reported.
32. ________ is getting popularity among people in China according to Paragraph One.
A. Medicine B. AI mental treatment
C. Health care D. Human therapy
33. What can we infer from the passage?
A. The ill failed to get medical treatment because of a short of money.
B. The hospitals may try doctor-AI service to better advise patients.

On March 27th, 2025, China’s health and market agencies brought out new food safety rules. The main goal is to help people choose healthier and safer foods.
One big change is that words like “no added” or “zero added” will disappear from food package labels (标识). Companies used these words to sell their products, but they could trick consumers (消费者). For example, a “no added sugar” juice might still have a lot of natural fruit sugars. This makes consumers think it has no sugar at all. Also, some products changed one sweetener for another, making buyers misunderstand. The new rules want to make labels easier to understand and more honest. Now, consumers are told to look carefully at the ingredient list instead of being fooled by nice-sounding marketing words. What’s more, common allergens (过敏原) like nuts, eggs, or milk must be clearly shown on labels, either in bold (黑体) letters or underlined.
Another important change is the use of digital (数码的) labels. By just scanning the QR code (二维码) on the package, consumers can get a lot of information. They can find out where the ingredients come from, how to store the food, and even watch teaching videos. Food expiration (过期) dates will be made simpler, too. Instead of finding out how long a product can last from the production date, labels will now show the “use by” date directly. To stop food waste, some products may also have a “best before” date.
Companies have two years to change their packaging and use up the old products. These rules not only protect consumers but also make producers focus on really improving the quality. Without doubt, they show China’s promise to be open in food production and care about public health.
28. Which of the following is NOT allowed on food packaging labels according to the passage?
A. QR codes linking to ingredient sources. B. Words like “no sugar” or “zero added”.
C. Clear expiration dates labeled as “use by”. D. Allergens underlined in bold letters
29. What does the underlined word “they” in the last paragraph refer to (指代)?
A. The new food safety rules. B. The digital labels with QR codes.
C. The companies selling products. D. The food expiration dates.
30. What can we infer about food companies in the future?
A. They must reduce the use of natural fruit sugars. B. They can’t trick customers with labels any more.
C. They will no longer use any kind of sweeteners. D. They have 2 years to sell out their old products.
31. What is the best title for the passage?
A. New Technology in China’s Food Packaging B. Fighting Food Waste with Better Dates
C. Clearer Allergen Warnings on Food Labels D. China’s New Food Labels for Safer Eating

Many people think that squirrels only eat nuts, but this isn’t true. They also like to eat plants, fruits, eggs, small animals and even young snakes.

Which of the following can be put into No. (3) and No. (4)?
Be More Body Confident

28. According to the passage, which of the following correctly matches the different parts of the torch with their cultural meanings?

29. 词句猜测题。根据“It is a famous relic from the Sanxingdui civilization (文明), one of China’s oldest cultures.”可知,划线词后提到了它是中国最古老的文化之一,因此“relic”指“古代遗留下来的珍贵文物”,故选B。

In Chinese culture, the snake is an important symbol, and its meaning has changed over time.
In the old book Classic of Mountains and Seas, many gods are shown holding snakes, hanging them around their ears, or having the body of a snake as a mark of their unusual abilities. ①
Han Ding, a teacher at Henan University, says that snakes are often found in holes underground where dead people are buried, so they are often believed to be connected with the dead.
