考点3追踪蜜蜂
3.(2025年四川德阳)
Scientists have long questioned how far bees travel to collect food. They believe that bees can fly as far as 10 kilometers if necessary, though most of the time, bees don’t go that far.
To find out the answer, some scientists used small codes called “AprilTags” to track bees. These codes are similar to QR codes (二维码). They are easy for cameras to follow, even without enough light, and they don’t hurt the bees.
The scientists put the sensors (传感器) on 600 young bees every two weeks. Over the spring and summer, they followed more than 32,000 bees in six hives (蜂房). By putting a camera and a small computer on each hive, the scientists could tell when the bees with sensors left and returned.
The scientists found that most bee trips outside the hive took just one to four minutes—probably for quick jobs like checking the weather. Longer trips were usually under 20 minutes. But about one third of the bees took trips over two hours. This might mean the bees were making longer trips to collect food. The scientists also found that it took the bees more time to collect food when there were not enough flowers around.
Bees use special “dances” to communicate with each other about where to collect food. Now the scientists want to know the relationship between their new tracking information and these special “dances”. They plan to teach beekeepers and other scientists how to use this new tracking way.

Weiqi, also known as Go in English, is a black and white board game from ancient China. The game is considered one of the Four Arts for ancient Chinese literators (文人) to master. Besides Weiqi, they had to learn Chinese calligraphy (shu), painting (hua) and guqin playing (qin).
Weiqi has a history of over 4,000 years, even older than Chinese chess. According to some historical records, Weiqi was known as Yi in its early years. It is said to have been invented by Emperor Yao. Seeing that his son got angry easily and didn’t like to study, the emperor was quite worried. So he decided to find something to educate his son, and a board game came to him.
The rules of Weiqi are simple: using black and white stones, two players take turns putting their stones on empty cross points of the board. The aim is to surround (包围) a larger total area on the board while stopping one’s own stones from being taken by the other side. Stones do not move and are only taken off the board if they are completely surrounded.
The scene of two people playing Weiqi appears in many traditional Chinese paintings. The image (形象) of a player holding a stone over the board, looking for a place to put it, was later turned into a famous Chinese idiom (成语), which means “unsure about making a move”. The idiom is still widely used today.
With its development, Weiqi grew more popular. Later, it spread to other Asian countries and Western countries. Today, it has become an international board game.

It is quite popular in Guangdong Province in south China and Puning is home to over 100 Yingge teams. In 2006, Puning Yingge dance was listed as part of China’s national intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产).
The Yingge dance usually gets inspiration from The Water Margin, one of China’s Four Great Classical Novels. During major festivals, the sound of Yingge drums fills cities and villages. The dancers wear colorful traditional costumes, put on beautiful facial makeup (化妆) and dance joyfully. When watching the dance, people can always feel the spirit of fighting for the good besides a lively air with energy and youth.

Holding a cloth snake, the lead dancer copies the snake’s movements. When he makes his way through the dance team, he also guides the team’s direction. His fine steps and skillful movements make him the focus of the performance.
During performances, dancers hold the Yingge sticks at their mid-points, waving them and forming the shape of number 8. At the same time, their fingers create continuous movements. Moreover, each dancer jumps sideways and hits the sticks to the drum beats as if they are riding a horse. Their heads and bodies move naturally to the beat too.

考点8分解塑料废物
8.(2025年四川泸州)
Plastic waste is an increasingly important problem. Up to now, only 9% of the plastics ever produced have been recycled. The rest remain on earth for hundreds of years. They wash out to the ocean to become rubbish, harm wildlife and break down into small plastics that can enter the human brain and other parts of our bodies.
Recently, scientists have developed a new method to break down plastic waste with the help of water in the air. The researchers mixed a special metal and activated carbon (活性碳) with PET, the most common type of polyester (聚酯) plastic. Then they heated the mixture. After a short time, this broke the chemical connections in the polyester. Next, when the team left the material in the air, the mixture turned into TPA, a polyester material, and acetaldehyde, an industrial chemical. Finally, these valuable chemical materials were recycled.
After the first success, researchers tested the method on different plastics and found it worked on polyester plastic only. That meant they didn’t need to separate different kinds of plastics. Also, when they added water, it stopped working because the amount (数量) of water in the air was just right.
The team’s next plan will be to use the method widely in industry.
“It’s hopeful that our technology can hugely reduce plastic pollution, lower the environmental footprint of plastics and help materials be reused instead of being thrown away,” researchers said. “It’s a leap towards a cleaner, greener future, and it shows how creative chemistry can solve world challenges in a way that joins hands with nature.”

Circles represent (象征) things that are soft and natural. The round shape reminds us of things that appear in nature, like the sun, flowers, raindrops and so on. We can also connect circles with beautiful eyes, babies’ round faces... All these things make us feel happy and warm. This is why so many cartoon characters’ bodies—heroes, kids, good people—are round in shape, because circles represent goodness, happiness and friendliness.
Squares show things that are unnatural or man-made, or things that are boring or old-fashioned. In Up, Carl, an elderly man, has a square face and wears square glasses, while Russell, an 8-year-old boy with a round face, always wears round medals. These shapes show the characters’ personalities. Carl is stubborn (执拗的) and lonely, while Russell is lovely and full of energy.
The angriest shape is the triangle. Kids who draw a monster with sharp teeth draw a row of triangles, don’t they? That’s because the shape represents fear, distrust and doubt in some way. If you look at the bad guys in cartoons, you’ll find they’re all drawn with plenty of points and triangles. And triangles are stable and don’t easily fall down. In films, this feature makes bad people difficult to deal with.
Not only in cartoons, but also in other kinds of films, different shapes are used for the same purpose. So, next time you see a film, try to find the hidden shapes and you will know what the characters are like.

考点10预测科技
10.(2025年四川眉山)
There is no doubt that the world will be a very different place in 2045. So what’s going to happen then? It’s pretty likely that robots and AI technology will change a lot of industries. Also, self-driving and flying cars will come into our daily life, bringing us much convenience.
However, scientists have even bigger ideas. In a video series called Forward to the Future, three researchers predicted what they imagined would be reality in 2045.
Dr. Justin Sanchez believes we’ll be at a point where we can control things simply by using our mind. “Imagine a world where you could just use your thoughts to control your environment,” Justin said. According to him, experts are working on certain technologies that can make this happen. They’ve made some progress already.
The future has more than just that. Many other exciting things could change the building and other objects around us, says Stefanie Tompkins. “We’ll be able to build things that are very strong but also lightweight (轻量型的). We don’t even know the materials around us,” she predicted.
Pam Melroy believes we’re going to find that we have a very different relationship with the machines around us. “I think we’ll begin to see a time when we’re able to control a machine just by pressing a button (按钮) or only saying some simple words,” she said. For example, right now to land a plane safely, a pilot has to go through many steps in the right order. But in 2045, in Pam’s words, a pilot may just need to say the words “prepare for landing”. Then the computer knows the steps it needs to take. Or perhaps, with AI, a pilot won’t even be necessary.
12. What does the underlined word “this” refer to in Paragraph 3?
A. Making progress in AI technology. B. Driving flying cars in our daily life.
C. Controlling things by using our mind. D. Using robots in different industries.
13. Which of the following would be possible according to Stefanie?
A. AI helps pilots to land planes. B. Computers operate all machines.
C. Self-driving cars travel around us. D. Houses are strong but lightweight.
14. Which is the best title for the passage?

In science museums, you usually see animal specimens (标本) lying silently. Now they are not quiet anymore. Thanks to AI, visitors to a museum in England can talk to them now.
The museum works with an AI company so that it is possible for people and the natural world to communicate with each other. It brings 13 of its specimens back to life.
Visitors only need to use their smartphones to scan the QR codes (二维码) next to the specimens to begin talking with them—either by text or voice. The animals will reply as if they’re still alive.
This is a new way for people to learn about animals. The museum wants to see how this can help people connect with nature better.

Have you ever imagined being in a car which is driven by a computer, not a human? In recent years, China has made great progress in self-driving technology. Since August, 2022, self-driving taxis can run on the roads in Wuhan, Chongqing and Shenzhen. Why do we develop self-driving cars?
Self-driving cars can bring us many advantages. First, they use computers to feel the things around them and make better use of space. This means fewer traffic jams and better parking space for cars. Second, self-driving cars can help the disabled (残疾的) or blind people to get around more easily. Third, self-driving cars hardly make wrong decisions or lose focus (注意力), so there will be fewer accidents and deaths on the road.
However, self-driving cars are not perfect. They also have some problems. If something unexpected (预料之外) on the road happens, self-driving cars cannot react (反应) as fast as human drivers. Also, when the weather is bad, like heavy snow, self-driving cars cannot see the lines on the road easily. This may cause an accident. Besides, if the computer system of the car is broken by someone, the car will crash (撞毁).
It is clear that there is still a long way to go to make self-driving cars more common and safer. And China is taking steps to make this happen.

The Yingge dance, also named “Dance of the Heroes”, has a history dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It is a folk art form that mixes opera, dance and martial arts (武术).
Typically, in the Yingge dance, the lead dancer acts like a snake as the snake means being flexible (灵活的) and wise, which gives the dance deep cultural importance.

Have you seen circles, squares and triangles (三角形) everywhere in your daily life? Have you thought about their meanings in films? Much like colors, different shapes can show different features (特征) of characters in the scenes.
8. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By telling a story. B. By asking questions.
C. By listing numbers. D. By giving an example.
9. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A Cartoon characters in round shapes can be friendly and happy.

10. What does the underlined word “stable” mean in Paragraph 4?
A. 完整的 B. 稳固的 C. 常见的 D. 规则的
11. Which of the following is the structure of the passage? (①= Paragraph 1...)
A. B. C. D.
考点10预测科技

“This is just a try using AI technology in nature science. Will it help people know more about the specimen animals? Will it influence people’s opinions about them? For example, will people like the mouse better after hearing its voice? We are not sure.” said Jack Ashby, a worker of the museum.
And you don’t have to speak English, by the way—the animals are multilingual. So no matter what languages you speak, the animals can talk to you in a way that’s easy for you to understand.
The project engineers hope to make people care more about the biodiversity crisis (生物多样性危机). According to the most recent research wildlife populations dropped by 69% between 1970 and 2018. And animals are dying out at a faster speed.
