B When I order food for delivery, I often play a little game, wondering how many sets of cutlery (餐具) the restaurant will include with my meal. More often than not, restaurants go overboard. They throw in two, three, or even four sets, even though I rarely need any. This extra cutlery either ends up in the trash or collecting dust in a kitchen drawer, which is such a waste. Chinese tech giant Alibaba and its researchers came up with a simple solution to this common problem. Instead of mindlessly handing out cutlery they made a change to their food-delivery app. In select cities in China, customers now have to choose how many sets of cutlery they actually want from the restaurant. And guess what? The default (默认) option is set to zero. The results, published in the journal Science, were astonishing. There was a whopping 648% increase in the number of orders with no cutlery requested. If this approach were rolled out across China, researchers estimated that it could save nearly 22 billion sets of plastic cutlery and reduce 3.26 million metric tons of plastic waste. This study really opened my eyes. It shows that there are so many low-hanging fruits in our economy that can help cut waste and emissions. For Alibaba, this “nudge” to customers cost them nothing more than a few hours of software engineering time. But the impact? It was huge. The concept of “nudging” is fascinating. Nudge theory suggests that small, subtle signals can encourage people to do the right thing. There’s no need for strict policies that limit choices or economic punishments. For example, a restaurant could list healthy options at the top of the menu to nudge customers towards making healthier choices. Some might see this study as just another example of putting the onus (责任) on consumers for environmental issues, similar to the plastic straw debate. But I look at it differently. In the absence of comprehensive environmental policies, companies like Alibaba can play a crucial role in driving widespread changes in consumer behavior. 24. What is the aim of the author’s game when ordering food for delivery? A. To calculate the cost of the cutlery. B. To test the service quality of the restaurant. C. To pass the time while waiting for the food. D. To guess the number of cutlery sets provided. 25. What is Alibaba’s solution to the cutlery waste problem? A. Charging extra for cutlery. B. Designing new food-delivery apps. C. Letting customers decide cutlery quantity. D. Encouraging restaurants to offer less package. 26. What does the underlined part “low-hanging fruits” in Paragraph 3 probably mean? A. Problems that are hard to solve. B. Ideas that are creative but risky. C. Measures that are easy and effective. D. Goals that are difficult to achieve. 27 Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A. The Plastic Straw Debate B. Active Environment Policy C. Reducing Food-Delivery Cost D. Nudging Consumers to Cut Waste C This weekend, I sowed the first seeds of the season—five varieties of tomato. I’m not one for sowing seeds early, but tomatoes need every day of the growing season to offer up the best possible harvest. Gardeners and growers are well versed (精通的) in the nature of change. However, despite what plants have taught me about living and working with forces beyond my control, I frequently experience climate anxiety. All it takes is a few days of unexpectedly changeable weather for panic to rise up in my throat. Yet, it is through working with plants that I’ve found a way of dealing with this particular anxiety—to pay even more attention to the wonder of the natural world instead of choosing to turn away. And right now, as winter gives way to spring, is the ideal time to start a practice of noticing. On the days I spend with my crops, I resist the urge to dive straight into all there is to do; instead, I first stop to observe what’s new and what’s changed. I’m hungrily searching for green shoots and swelling buds (花蕾). I’m drinking in all the signs of new life that remind me that spring has always come and will in all likelihood be beautiful. When anxious headlines make me feel powerless and want to disengage, I develop my sense of essential connection with the natural world. This simply feels more possible in spring. Despite the very real challenges and dangers we face in this time of climate crisis, the natural world insists on showing us what flexibility and optimism look like and it’s our responsibility to take note and follow suit. As I write these words, I have a blanket on my knees and the window open to allow a silver of the cool breeze to blow in. The world feels fresh and lively and is full of new energy. I trust that the plants I grow this season will thrive. And I know that spring, hopefully one that’s overflowing with blossom, is already on its way. 28. Why did the author begin to plant tomatoes this weekend? A. To ensure sufficient growth time. B. To promote early planting techniques. C. To avoid unpredictable spring weather. D. To experiment with new seed varieties. 29. What is the purpose of the second paragraph? A. To define gardeners and growers. B. To share a way to deal with climate anxiety. C. To criticize those ignoring environmental problems. D. To argue for gardening as the best nature connection. 30. What does the author focus on when working in the garden? A. New changes in plants. B. The harvest of crops. C. The beautiful surroundings. D. Daily weather situations. 31. Which words best describe the author? A. Concerned and anxious. B. Observant and positive. C. Considerate but overconfident. D. Patient but impractical. D Recently, AI-generated art is worrying to some artists, who wonder whether they’ll be replaced by this technology. Meanwhile, others consider AI creations as little more than high-tech copying. A mass of AI tools have become available to the general public. The most accessible ones only require inputting a few words to create original images, which has resulted in a wave of surreal memes (表情包). However, when a work of art made with AI controversially won an art prize in Colorado, many realized that the technology has more to offer than just memes. A digital artist experimenting with AI is Zzai, who was born in Guangxi, China. While browsing through Zzai’s attractive creations, few might guess that the artist has been experimenting with AI for only half a year. “In May I started following some bloggers on Xiaohongshu and I was really inspired by their creations, so I started learning,” says the artist. Based on an AI image generator called Midjourney, Zzai creates visionary images that blend (融合) cyberpunk with Chinese culture and history. The artist’s series Cyber Peking Opera attempts to answer the question, “When we enter the metaverse (虚拟现实空间), what will traditional art come to?” and explores the relationship between tradition and technology while also processing culture by way of digitization. “The rise of AI technology is an irreversible trend,” adds Zzai. “Its scale and spread will only increase when the physical world and virtual reality are blended.” While generating AI artwork often takes no more than a minute, the preparatory work is time-consuming. Artists need to familiarize themselves with different software and put together strings of text to produce the desired results. Zzai is using his eye-catching creations to combat negative stereotypes of AI-generated art. “Opinions are very polarized. Some are supportive of this technology, but many are resistant to change,” he says. “AI is worthy of our imagination, and my projects make use of this technology to make bold attempts at creation.” Through his work, Zzai demonstrates that AI is not just a tool for replication but a medium for bold, innovative expression, offering new ways to reimagine and preserve cultural heritage in the digital age. 32. What can be inferred from the winning of an AI-made work? A. AI art has shown its true potential. B. Traditional form still holds its advantage. C. Artists are doubtful about the technology. D. High-tech copying consists of simple memes. 33. How does Zzai create his series? A. By relying on the AI tool and his ideas. B. By combining different AI image generators. C. By using his rich experience in traditional art. D. By learning from digital artists on Xiaohongshu. 34. Why does producing AI artwork require much time of artists? A. They need to design enough original images. B. They have to understand the metaverse’s feature. C. They have to spend ages in improving the software. D. They need to grasp software operation and process texts. 35. What is Zzai’s attitude towards AI technology? A. Cautious. B. Critical. C. Confident. D. Uncertain. Complimenting (赞美) others is a simple yet powerful way to build better relationships, boost someone’s self-esteem, and spread positive energy. ____36____. Time and again, she asked her parents, promising to walk, feed, and look after it. Each time, though, they gave the same gentle response: “We’ll see.” One afternoon, on her way home from school, Fauna saw a little dog wandering near the park. Its fur was messy, and it looked lost, sniffing the ground as if searching for something. Feeling curious and hopeful, Fauna bent down and called to it. The dog quickly ran over, wagging (摇) its tail and gently pressing its nose into her hand, like they had known each other forever. She looked around, but no one seemed to be searching for the dog. Feeling pity for the lost dog, Fauna decided to take it home. As they walked side by side, her heart swelled with joy. It felt as though this was the pet she had always dreamed of—a friend she had been waiting for. At the front door, Fauna’s mother greeted her with a warm smile. Although she found the dog adorable, she gently reminded Fauna that they needed to try and find its owner. If the dog was lost, someone must be missing it. Fauna reluctantly (不情愿地) agreed, though part of her wished no one would come forward to claim the little dog. Over the next few days, Fauna and the dog—whom she named Buddy—grew inseparable. She fed him, played with him, and let him sleep curled up at the foot of her bed. Every day, it became harder to imagine life without him. Buddy seemed happy too, wagging his tail whenever she came home from school. But Fauna knew deep down that she had to do the right thing. She and her parents posted flyers around town, hoping to find Buddy’s owner. Just a few days later, the phone rang. Fauna’s heart sank as her father answered. From the conversation, it was clear that the caller was Buddy’s owner. He described Buddy perfectly—the friendly eyes and playful personality. Fauna knew Buddy would soon be leaving her. Her father arranged for the owner to come by and pick Buddy up. When the man arrived, the little dog ran straight into his arms, barking with joy. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That evening, Fauna sat quietly in her room, feeling the emptiness that Buddy’s absence had left behind. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026届高二下学年期末校际联考 英语试题 第一部分 听力 (共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 Where does the conversation probably take place? M: I don’t think I appreciate traditional festivals like Christmas and Easter as much as my family. W: What do you mean? M: I’m just not that into them. Christmas and Easter have many extra parts involved. I like to celebrate with the people I love in a comfortable environment. My favorite holiday is the summer festival. W: Is it because of our tradition to swim in my pool every year before the parade? M: No, though that is fun. It’s because after the parade, we go to my parents’ giant barbecue with all their friends. Everyone brings a dish of food or drinks, and then we talk and tell stories until the stars come out. W: People do that on Christmas and Easter too, you know? I think it just depends on your family’s traditions. M: For some reason I just feel that most people feel the need to buy expensive things that are unnecessary during Christmas and Easter. There is no expectation of getting or giving gifts. It feels like you are forced into being nice because of a date. W: Yes, but you don’t have to do any of that to celebrate. My family makes gifts for one another, or we make promises, saying we will help each other with projects or housework. 18. What did Dr. Wilson teach the speaker? A. She cared more about his schoolwork. B. She helped him to be more confident. C. She had little sympathy for him. 20. Who is the speaker now probably? A. A doctor. B. A teacher. C. A lawyer. B 19. B 20. M: Thank you, Ms Jackson. I’m honored to talk to your class today about something. I know a thing or two about being afraid. As you can see, I was born without arms. Every time I fell down I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to get up. My parents were too poor to afford plastic arms for me but luckily one of my doctors, Dr Wilson, showed me how to use my feet to do everything. Once I could do a few things by myself, I didn’t feel scared of being alone anymore. In high school, everyone in my class made fun of me. Every morning I was afraid of what they would say. That was the hardest and darkest time in my life. But my teacher, Mrs Dalton, made sure I stayed focused on my schoolwork. She taught me to be strong and confident. Once I realized that it didn’t matter what other people thought of me, I wasn’t scared of being in the crowds anymore. Now that I have my own successful law company in Manchester, I can afford those plastic arms. Maybe I will get them one day, but for now my missing arms remind me every day that I don’t have anything to be afraid of. A Welcome to the British Museum (BM)! Instead of mindlessly handing out cutlery, they made a change to their food-delivery app. 27. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A. The Plastic Straw Debate B. Active Environment Policy C. Reducing Food-Delivery Cost D. Nudging Consumers to Cut Waste 【答案】24. D 25. C 26. C 27. 根据第一段“When I order food for delivery, I often play a little game, wondering how many sets of cutlery (餐具) the restaurant will include with my meal. More often than not, restaurants go overboard. They throw in two, three, or even four sets, even though I rarely need any. This extra cutlery either ends up in the trash or collecting dust in a kitchen drawer, which is such a waste. (当我点外卖的时候,我经常玩一个小游戏,想知道餐馆会给我提供多少套餐具。通常情况下,餐馆会做得过火。他们会提供两套,三套,甚至四套,尽管我很少需要。这些多余的餐具要么被扔进垃圾桶,要么被放在厨房抽屉里积灰,这是一种浪费)”可知,当订餐时,作者游戏的目的是猜测提供的餐具套的数量。故选D。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Instead of mindlessly handing out cutlery, they made a change to their food-delivery app. In select cities in China, customers now have to choose how many sets of cutlery they actually want from the restaurant.(他们不再盲目地分发餐具,而是改变了他们的送餐应用程序。在中国的一些城市,顾客现在必须选择他们真正想从餐馆买多少套餐具)”可知,阿里巴巴让顾客决定餐具的数量,以此解决餐具浪费问题。故选C。 【26题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第二段“Chinese tech giant Alibaba and its researchers came up with a simple solution to this common problem.(中国科技巨头阿里巴巴及其研究人员提出了一个简单的解决方案来解决这个普遍问题)”;“The results, published in the journal Science, were astonishing. There was a whopping 648% increase in the number of orders with no cutlery requested. If this approach were rolled out across China, researchers estimated that it could save nearly 22 billion sets of plastic cutlery and reduce 3.26 million metric tons of plastic waste.(发表在《科学》杂志上的研究结果令人震惊。 根据第二段“If this approach were rolled out across China, researchers estimated that it could save nearly 22 billion sets of plastic cutlery and reduce 3.26 million metric tons of plastic waste.(研究人员估计,如果这种方法在中国推广,可以节省近220亿套塑料餐具,减少326万吨塑料垃圾)”结合文章主要说明了阿里巴巴通过顾客决定餐具的数量解决餐具浪费问题,解释了背后的原理。 D。 C This weekend, I sowed the first seeds of the season—five varieties of tomato. 28. A 29. B 30. A 31. A. Cautious. B. Critical. C. Confident. D. Uncertain. A 33. A 34. D 35. 根据第一段“The most accessible ones only require inputting a few words to create original images, which has resulted in a wave of surreal memes (表情包). Artists need to familiarize themselves with different software and put together strings of text to produce the desired results.(虽然生成AI美术作品通常不超过一分钟,但准备工作非常耗时。艺术家需要熟悉不同的软件,并把文本串在一起,以产生所需的结果)”可知,制作AI美术作品需要美工投入大量时间因为他们需要掌握软件操作和文本处理。故选D。 【35题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“AI is worthy of our imagination, and my projects make use of this technology to make bold attempts at creation.(人工智能值得我们想象,我的项目利用这项技术进行大胆的创作尝试)”可推知,扎伊对人工智能技术的态度是自信的。 Complimenting (赞美) others is a simple yet powerful way to build better relationships, boost someone’s self-esteem, and spread positive energy. ____36____. Here are some tips to help you become a master at complimenting others and make someone’s day. Be sincere in your words Sincerity is the foundation of a great compliment. People can usually tell whether a compliment is genuine or not. ____37____. Instead, take the time to find something you truly admire about the person. For example, if you say, “Your hard work on this project really shows. I can see how much effort you’ve put in,” it will be much more meaningful than a casual, insincere “Good job.” ____38____ A compliment will feel more special when it’s clear you’ve noticed something that really matters to the person you’re talking to. For example, if your mother-in-law spends a lot of time cultivating her beautiful flower garden, you could compliment her on her excellent eye for color. Complimenting someone on what they’re really good at is a sure way to bring a smile to his or her face every time. Link to their goals or values If you know what a person values or what their goals are, you can tailor your compliment accordingly. ____39____. For instance, if your friend is passionate about environmental protection and has organized a recycling campaign, you can say, “I really admire your dedication to protecting the environment. This recycling campaign is making a real difference, and it shows how much you care.” Add a positive prediction Ending your compliment with a positive prediction can make it even more powerful. ____40____. For example, “You have a real talent for public speaking. I’m sure you’ll be a great speaker in the future and inspire many people.” By following these steps, you’ll become a master at making others feel valued and appreciated. A. Admire their personal achievements B. Avoid giving forced or insincere compliments C. It gives the person something to look forward to D. Don’t compliment someone just in complicated words E. This can make your compliment more relevant and meaningful F. However, not everyone knows how to give effective compliments G. A compliment should be in line with the situation and your goals 【答案】36. F 37. B 38. A 39. E 40. 【36题详解】 根据上文“Complimenting (赞美) others is a simple yet powerful way to build better relationships, boost someone’s self-esteem, and spread positive energy. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 When the man arrived, the little dog ran straight into his arms, barking with joy. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That evening, Fauna sat quietly in her room, feeling the emptiness that Buddy’s absence had left behind. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】When the man arrived, the little dog ran straight into his arms, barking with joy. Fauna watched as Buddy wagged his tail furiously, licking the man’s face with excitement. It was clear that Buddy remembered his owner and was overjoyed to see him again. The man thanked Fauna and her family for taking such good care of Buddy. Fauna knelt down to give Buddy one last hug, whispering, “I’ll miss you, Buddy.” As the man led Buddy away, Fauna stood at the door, waving until they were out of sight. That evening, Fauna sat quietly in her room, feeling the emptiness that Buddy’s absence had left behind. Her parents noticed her sadness and sat down with her. Her father said, “How about visiting the animal shelter this weekend? If you’re ready, maybe we can find a pet that needs a home—one that we can keep forever.” Fauna’s eyes lit up, and a small smile returned to her face. She realized that while saying goodbye to Buddy was hard, it had also opened the door to a new possibility—a chance to give another animal a loving home. 词汇激活: 行为类 ①照顾:take care of/look after ②拥抱:hug/embrace ③注意到:notice/observe 情绪类 ①兴奋地:with excitement/excitedly ②非常高兴:overjoyed/delighted 【点睛】[高分句型1] It was clear that Buddy remembered his owner and was overjoyed to see him again.(运用了it作形式主语,that引导主语从句) [高分句型2] As the man led Buddy away, Fauna stood at the door, waving until they were out of sight.(运用了连词as和until引导的时间状语从句、现在分词作状语) [高分句型3] If you’re ready, maybe we can find a pet that needs a home—one that we can keep forever.(运用了if引导的条件状语从句和that引导的定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $英语听力考试现在开始。第一节听下面5段对话,每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的ABC3个选项中选出最佳选项,并标在试卷的相应位置。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。现在你有5秒钟的时间阅读第一小题的有关内容。Excuse me, how should I fill in this blank? What do you mean? And just not that into them. Christmas and easter have many extra parts involved. I like to celebrate with the people I love in a comfortable environment. My favorite holiday is the summer festival. Is that because of our tradition, to swim in my pool every year before the parade? No, though, that is fun. It's because after the parade, we go to my parents giant barbecue with other friends. Everyone brings a dish, food or drinks, and then we talk and tell stories until the stars come out. People do that on Christmas and easter too. You know, I think IT just depends on your family's traditions. For some reason, I just feel that most people feel the need to buy expensive things that are unnecessary during Christmas and the easter. There is no expectation of getting or giving gifts. IT feels like you are forced into being nice because of a date. yes, but you don't have to do any of that to celebrate. I'm honor to talk to your class today about something I know a thing or two about being afraid. As you can see, I was born without arms. Every time I fell down, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to get up. My parents were too poor to afford plastic arms for me, but luckily, one of my doctors, doctor Wilson, showed me how to use my feet to do everything. Once I could do a few things by myself, I didn't feel scared of being alone anymore. In high school, everyone in my class made fun of me every morning. I was afraid of what they would say that was the hardest and darkest time in my life. But my teacher, mrs. Don't made sure I stay focused on my school work. SHE taught me to be strong and confident once I realized, ed that he did matter what other people thought of me. I wasn't scared of being in the crowds anymore. Now that I have my own successful law company in manchester, I can afford those plastic arms. Maybe I will give them one day, but for now, my missing arms remind me every day that I don't have anything to be afraid of. Thank you, ms. Jackson.
