Before we start our new unit, let's first have a little warm-up. I have a video here. It's about different families. Watch carefully and see what kind of family activities you can find. (Play the video) So, students, what did you see in the video? Raise your hands and share with me. S1: I saw a family having a picnic in the park. T: Great! That's a lovely family activity. What else? S2: There was a family playing board games at home. T: Right! Playing games together can bring a lot of fun to the family. And anyone else? S3: A family was watching TV together. T: Wonderful. Watching TV is also a common activity that many families do. As we can see, families do all kinds of things together. And today, we are going to talk about family ties in Unit 3. Family ties are the special connections and relationships within a family. Now, let's move on to our first part. 讲解图片 T: Look at the pictures on page of your textbooks. There are several pictures showing different families. Let's first focus on the first picture. What is this family doing? Any ideas? S4: They are having a barbecue in the backyard. T: Excellent! You've got it. And how about the second picture? What's happening there? S5: The family is hiking in the mountains. T: Very good. Hiking is a great way to enjoy nature and spend time with family. Now, let's look at the third picture. What can you tell me? S6: They are celebrating a birthday party. T: Right! Birthday parties are always full of joy and happiness in a family. Now, I want you to think about this question: What activities do you usually do with your family members? Turn to your partners and discuss for a few minutes. (Students discuss) Okay, time's up. Who would like to share your ideas with the whole class? S7: My family usually goes to the movies on weekends. T: That sounds like a great activity. Watching a movie together can be a lot of fun. What about you? S8: We often have a big dinner together on Fridays and talk about our week. T: That's wonderful. Sharing your weekly experiences over a delicious dinner can strengthen the family bond. 词汇讲解 T: Now, let's come to some new words and phrases related to family. First, we have "family ties". As I mentioned before, family ties are the relationships between family members. For example, the tie between a father and a son, or a mother and a daughter. Can you think of some other family ties? S9: The tie between brothers and sisters. T: Exactly! Very good. Next word, "relative". A relative is a person who is part of your family, like your aunt, uncle, cousin, etc. For instance, my cousin lives in another city, but we still keep in touch. Now, repeat after me: relative. (Students repeat) Another important word is "responsibility". In a family, everyone has his or her responsibility. For example, parents have the responsibility to take care of their children, and children have the responsibility to respect their parents. Can you give me an example of responsibility in your family? S10: I have the responsibility to clean my room. T: Great! That's a good example of your responsibility at home. Now, let's move on to some phrases. "Get on well with" means to have a good relationship with someone. For example, I get on well with my grandparents. We often chat and play games together. Try to use this phrase in a sentence. S11: I get on well with my classmates. T: Good! Although this is about classmates, you used the phrase correctly. Now, let's look at the last one, "look after". It means to take care of someone or something. For example, my mother looks after our pet dog every day. Can you make a sentence with "look after"? S12: I look after my little brother when my parents are busy. T: Excellent! You've understood these words and phrases very well. 深入探讨家庭意义 T: Now, let's think about a deeper question. What do you think the word "family" stands for? Look at the picture on page XX again. In this picture, we can see the family members are helping each other. What does this tell you about family? Discuss in your groups for a few minutes. (Students discuss) Okay, let's hear some of your thoughts. S13: Family means helping each other. When someone in the family has a problem, others will give a hand. T: That's a very important part of family. What else? S14: Family means love. Family members love each other no matter what. T: Absolutely! Love is the foundation of a family. And? S15: Family means spending time together and having fun. T: Right! Spending quality time together creates beautiful memories. So, as we can see, family is a very special word. It stands for love, support, responsibility, and many other wonderful things. 课堂互动 T: Now, it's time for an interesting activity. I will divide you into groups of four. Each group will get a set of cards. On these cards, there are different family situations. For example, one card might say "Your little sister lost her favorite toy. What will you do?" or "Your father is tired after work. How can you help him?" Each group member takes turns to pick a card and share your ideas with the group. Use the words and phrases we've just learned. Then, each group chooses one situation and acts it out for the whole class. Are you ready? Let's start! (Students do the activity) Okay, time's up. Which group would like to come to the front and act out their situation first? Group 1 comes to the front and acts out the situation. T: Very good job, Group 1! You've shown us a great example of how to help family members. Let's give them a big hand. Now, which group wants to be the next? (Another group comes and acts) 课堂总结 T: Today, we've learned a lot about family ties. We've talked about different family activities, new words and phrases related to family, and most importantly, we've explored the meaning of family. Family is not just a group of people living together; it's a place full of love, support, and responsibility. I hope you all can cherish your families and show your love to your family members every day. For homework, I want you to draw a picture of your family doing an activity that you all enjoy. And write a short passage below the picture, describing what you are doing in the picture and why you like this activity. Use the words and phrases we learned today. I'm looking forward to seeing your wonderful works next class. That's all for today's class. Goodbye, students! 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
