He also taught her some knowledge about space. Mary loved technology and science, and she was also adventurous (爱冒险的). (2025·福建福州·三模)Recently, I asked a seeing friend who had just walked in the woods what she had noticed. “Nothing special,” she replied. How was it possible, I asked myself, to walk through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who cannot see find hundreds of things to interest me only through touch. If I can get so much pleasure from touch, how much more beauty must be found by sight (视力)? And I have imagined what I should most like to see if I were given the use of my eyes for just three days. On the first day, I should want to see the people who have made my life worth living and the books which have been read to me. In the afternoon, I should take a walk in the woods and admire the beauties of nature. That night, I should not be able to sleep. On my second day, I should go to the museums to see man’s progress. I should try to explore the spirit of man through his art. In the evening, I should spend at the movies. The following day, I should spend in the world of common people going about the business of life. At midnight, permanent night would close in on me again, and I should realize how much I had left unseen. I who am blind can give one suggestion to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be blind. The same is true of other senses. Hear the songs of birds, as if you would be deaf tomorrow. Smell the flowers, as if tomorrow you could never smell again... But of all the senses, I’m sure that sight must be the most pleasant. Look, I’ve got some marks on it!” Dad led him to the front of the mirror. For over two thousand years, the ancient road system has been a treasure of Chinese culture. But for American scholar Hope Justman, it is even more than that. She sees it as a living record of history worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status (世界遗产称号). She visited an exhibition in Boston when she was in college, where a painting drew her attention. Huge mountains, thick trees, and mountain streams made that painting look deep and amazing, with a certain sense of mystery (神秘). Intrigued by the mystery, Justman’s journey with the Shu Road system began in 2001. Since then, she has hiked the “greatest road” in China 24 times in 24 years. “It is a timeless experience for me,” she says. She can’t forget walking on the ancient flagstones under the shade of the centuries-old cypresses (柏树). In 2007, Justman published (出版) her book, Guide to Hiking China’s Old Road to Shu. She still remembers the biggest challenge in writing it: finding the real road. When she finally found a section of the road system with the help of the locals, she was very excited. That gave her hope that “more sections of the road to Shu might have survived (留存).” Justman believes that readers will find her book very helpful, as most of them do not know the ancient road still exists and can be hiked for many hours. In October this year, the Chinese version of her book was published. The Three Kingdoms period is Justman’s favorite part of the road’s history. Many of the battles between Shu and Wei took place here. Many towns along the road still have temples to honor the heroes of that time. Justman’s love for the ancient road system never fades (褪色), and she is pleased to see that China has worked hard to protect it. Big projects have been carried out to improve its condition. For example, broken stones have been fixed and benches (长椅) have been added for hikers. But this raises an interesting question. Li Bai and Du Fu described in their poems how dangerous it could be to travel along the road. But if both great poets were alive today, would they be inspired to write any new poems? Justman says, “No.” 1.What is Shu Road like in Hope Justman’s eyes? A.Just one place in Li Bai’s poem. B.An amazing living history record. C.A place too hard to hike. D.A nice and modern road system. 2.How many times has Justman hiked the “greatest road” in China in 24 years? A.24 times. B.20 times. C.2007 times. D.2024 times. 3.What is Paragraph 3 mainly about? A.The source of inspiration B.The influence of the book on readers. C.The difficulties in publishing. D.The process and challenges in writing. 4.Put the following events in the correct order. a. Justman visited an exhibition in Boston. b. Justman published the Chinese version of her book. c. Justman began her journey with the Shu Road system. d. Justman published her book Guide to Hiking China’s Old Road to Shu. A.c-a-d-b B.a-d-c-b C.a-c-d-b D.c-d-a-b 5.Why does Justman say “No” at the end of the article? A.Because Shu Road system needs to be rebuilt. B.Because Shu Road system has lost its historical value. C.Because Shu Road system is not as dangerous as it used to. D.Because the protection project destroyed the beauty of the road. (2025·福建厦门·二模)Here is a story of a special plant. Because of this plant, the population at that time increased a lot. Long ago, there was a man named Chen Zhenlong (1543—1619), and he was born in Fujian. Then he went to Luzon Island (now the main island in Philippines) for business. Zhang Xiaoran, a 15-year-old girl from Hangzhou, wrote about her trip to her hometown Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia. In her article, she described traveling on a slow green train with her grandparents. The 25-hour ride was filled with warm memories: the sound of wheels on rails, dialects (方言) of passengers, and her grandparents’ care. She wrote about a kind grandfather who bought snacks just because the seller said, “Kids love these.” This reminded her of her late grandfather. Gesturing towards a white shirt hanging on a clothes line, he said, “Son, think of that shirt as Joaquin. Every time you hit it with a piece of charcoal, it’s like wishing him a bit of bad luck. Let’s see what will happen when all the charcoal is gone.” Paco’s eyes lit up at the idea. He grabbed a handful of charcoal and started throwing it at the shirt. But the clothes line was set far back, and no matter how hard he tried, most of the charcoal missed the mark. By the time he’d emptied the bag, only a few pieces stained (玷污) the shirt. “Still feel good?” Dad asked. “Whew, I’m beat,” Paco panted (喘气). “But yeah! 【答案】1.B 2.A 3.D 4.C 5.C 【导语】本文讲述了美国学者Hope Justman对蜀道的热爱与研究,以及她为推广和保护蜀道所做的努力。 1.细节理解题。根据“She sees it as a living record of history worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status.”可知,Hope Justman认为蜀道是一部鲜活的历史记录,值得被列入联合国教科文组织世界遗产名录。故选B。 2.细节理解题。根据“Since then, she has hiked the ‘greatest road’ in China 24 times in 24 years.”可知,Justman在24年间徒步蜀道24次。故选A。 3.主旨大意题。根据“She still remembers the biggest challenge in writing it: finding the real road.”及本段内容可知,本段主要讲述了Justman写书的过程和挑战。故选D。 4.细节理解题。根据“She visited an exhibition in Boston when she was in college, where a painting drew her attention.”可知,Justman在大学时参观波士顿展览,即a;根据“Intrigued by the mystery, Justman’s journey with the Shu Road system began in 2001.”可知,在2001年开始探索蜀道,即c;根据“In 2007, Justman published (出版) her book, Guide to Hiking China’s Old Road to Shu.”可知,2007年出版书籍,即d;根据“In October this year, the Chinese version of her book was published.”可知,今年10月,出版了该书籍的中文版,即b。因此正确顺序是a-c-d-b。故选C。 5.推理判断题。根据“Big projects have been carried out to improve its condition. ...
