As the quiet daughter of a military family that moved every two years, I struggled to make friends across three different countries. My accent shifted awkwardly between British and American English, making classroom readings a nightmare. Determined to break free from my shell, I joined my high school drama club—a decision that terrified me more than moving to a new neighborhood. The first month felt impossible. While others memorized lines effortlessly, I stumbled over self-introduction, my palms sweating under the stage lights. Our director’s improvisation (即兴) exercises were the worst. She’d shout unexpected plots like “You’re an astronaut discovering aliens!”, giving us ten seconds to react. My mind would blank with a lump in my throat. Yet week after week, something changed. The supportive laughter of my peers replaced my fear of embarrassment. By junior year, I landed a supporting role in our town, delivering lines without trembling. The real breakthrough came during a snowstorm performance when our lead actor fell ill. With only an hour’s notice, I stepped into the role and remembered every line. This courage spilled into other areas. I began leading history class discussions and volunteered as a tour guide for exchange students. At university, I joined a debate club, using my drama-trained voice to argue environmental policies. Last month, I even hosted a charity auction (拍卖) for 50 guests—something my 15-year-old self would consider unimaginable. Do I still get nervous? Absolutely. But I’ve learned that imperfection connects us. When I mispronounced during the auction, the crowd chuckled warmly, not cruelly. Now I view each stumble not as failure, but proof that I’m daring to speak up. 24. What made the author uncomfortable during classroom activities? A. She frequently moved house. B. She met language confusion. C. She hated reading class. D. She lacked team spirits. 25. What does the underlined word “stumbled over” in the second paragraph mean? A. Fell over suddenly. B. Spoke out freely. C. Repeated words constantly. D. Kept in mind easily. 26. How did drama club participation affect the author’s later life? A. It affected her academic performance. B. It developed her painting skills. C. It caused serious performance anxiety. D. It increased her social confidence. 27. What does the auction incident show about the author’s growth? A. She avoids challenging events. B. She focuses on others’ faults. C. She accepts human imperfection. D. She prioritizes financial success. C Courses that are taught via the Internet or online courses have become popular in many countries. There are different kinds of online courses, but most show a video of a teacher and students in a classroom. Students watch video online and take part in online activities. Some courses are free and open to anyone, giving students anywhere the chance to study at any time. Of course, watching students and teachers on a computer screen is not the same as taking part in a real class. Other kinds of e-learning are being tested around the world. In Singapore, eight schools have been chosen to try new ways of using technology in the classroom. The schools have tablets and touchscreens instead of books and blackboards in the classrooms. There are also social media platforms to help the students work together on projects, and online “worlds” where the students can interact with each other and the digital environment while completing different learning tasks. In South Korea, students have been taught English by teachers in the Philippines and other countries since 2011. The teachers are in their home countries and are connected to the Korean classrooms via the Internet. Instead of looking at a screen, the students interact with a robot in the classroom. The robot is controlled by the teacher and can move around the classroom and talk with the students. It is unlikely that the robot teachers will replace real teachers, but like online learning environments, they can be useful tools. These important examples show us that e-learning can be successful. Thanks to technology, more and more ways of teaching and learning are being developed. Nobody knows what the classroom of the future will look like, but one thing is for true — there has never been a more interesting time to be a student. 28. What do we know about online courses? A. All the online courses use robots to control the classrooms. B. Most online courses show videos of teachers and classrooms. C. All the online courses are free of charge and open worldwide. D. Most online courses offer the same experience as real classes. 29. How do students in South Korea learn English? A. They work on projects tasked by teachers in the Philippines. B. They watch online videos of English teachers from the Philippines. C. They travel to the Philippines in person and look at a screen carefully. D. They communicate with robots controlled by teachers in the Philippines. 30. What is the author’s attitude towards the future of e-learning? A. Promising. B. Confusing. C. Challenging. D. Depressing. 31. What is the main purpose of the text? A. To compare the education systems of different countries. B. To analyze the advantages and disadvantages of online courses. C. To introduce different forms of e-learning and their applications. D. To advertise different kinds of online courses for global students. D Have you always thought that to stay healthy, you have to give up yummy foods? Well, there’s some great news! A new study in a famous medical journal called The BMJ says that eating dark chocolate might help lower the chance of getting Type 2 diabetes (糖尿病). However, the study didn’t prove that dark chocolate itself was the reason for this health benefit. It could be something else about the people who ate dark chocolate that made them less likely to get diabetes. Dr. Qi Sun, who is a nutrition expert at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and led this study, said dark chocolate isn’t a “miracle cure” for preventing diabetes. But this study adds to a lot of other researches. Many studies have already shown that eating dark chocolate is linked to a lower risk of some health problems, like high blood pressure, heart diseases, and insulin resistance. Dr. Sun also said the results show that a small amount of dark chocolate can be part of a healthy diet. So, what exactly did the study find? Back in the mid-1980s and early 1990s, researchers started studying three groups of mostly white healthy workers. These nearly 190,000 people filled out detailed food questionnaires every four years. The questionnaires asked them how often they ate chocolate. Then in 2006 and 2007, the researchers changed the questionnaires. They began asking how often the participants ate dark chocolate and milk chocolate. The researchers watched over the participants’ health for as long as 34 years. During this time, almost 19,000 people got Type 2 diabetes. The researchers thought about other things in people’s lives, like how much they exercised, drank alcohol, smoked, and how healthy their overall diets were. They also considered people’s ages and whether diabetes ran in their families. After all this, they found that people who ate at least five servings of any kind of chocolate every week had a 10% lower chance of getting Type 2 diabetes than those who rarely or never ate chocolate. 32. According to Dr. Sun, what do we know about dark chocolate? A. A magic food for preventing all diseases. B. A possible solution to prevent diabetes. C. A good way to measure blood pressure. D. A healthy diet for people of all ages. 33. How did the researchers carry out the study? A. By interviewing people. B. By conducting experiments. C. By analyzing data. D. By doing diet surveys. 34. What can we infer from the study? A. It was a long process to collect data. B. Its results were far from satisfactory. C. It was built on a small body of research. D. It aimed to find a cure for Type 2 diabetes. 35. What is the main idea of the passage? A Harvard found a cure for diabetes. B. Chocolate daily means no diabetes. C. Milk chocolate is better for diabetes. D. Dark chocolate may lower diabetes risk. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 5 WAYS YOU CAN USE AI Remember Rosie the Robot from The Jetson or Robot B-9 from Lost in Space? Between mouthfuls of pancakes, his youngest daughter, Emma, shared a drawing of their family. His sons, Lucas and Miles, debated superhero rankings, giggles breaking out among them now and then. The happy scene made Slaughter’s tiredness start to fade away, although he was burned out from working many night shifts in a row. When the waitress came, she placed a folded note beside Slaughter’s coffee. Instead of a bill, he found a sincere note from a stranger. The note read: Thank you for being a great dad. Thank you for being the dad they need you to be. We need more men like you. Thank you for letting us all see your love for them all. From a retired Army doctor. Beneath the note lay a receipt (发票) that said “PAID IN FULL”. Slaughter’s eyes got wet as he scanned the diner, but the retired doctor had disappeared. “Dad, why are you crying?” Emma whispered, grasping his arm. He read the note out loud, his voice shaky. Lucas frowned thoughtfully. “So that man saw you being a good dad and wanted to say thanks?” Miles asked. Before Slaughter could reply, Emma declared, “We should thank someone too!” That afternoon, the family visited a homeless shelter. While sorting donations, Emma noticed a child crying in a corner. Without hesitation, she handed him her favorite toy rabbit. Lucas helped an old man carry heavy boxes, and Miles paid for a bus ticket for a stranger who didn’t have enough money. By evening, Dr. Slaughter posted their day on the Internet, mentioning the kind note and what his kids did. “One act of kindness became four.” He wrote, “My kids are already planning our next mission (任务). And you can also enjoy traditional Chinese opera and delicious local food. I sincerely invite you to come and experience the charm of Beijing. Regards, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分) 【67题答案】 【答案】 Word of the Slaughters’ mission spread quickly. The next morning, their story was featured on local news, inspiring neighbors to join their kindness campaign. A bakery donated bread to the shelter, a teenager organized a toy drive, and even the diner where it all began started a “pay-it-forward” coffee fund. Dr. Slaughter’s phone buzzed with messages from colleagues and patients, all eager to contribute. By week’s end, the shelter’s director tearfully thanked them—the donations had doubled, and volunteers lined up to help. Years went by, and the seed of kindness had firmly taken root in everyone’s heart. Emma, now a high schooler, founded a youth volunteer club; Lucas studied social work, and Miles became a teacher who encouraged students to perform daily acts of kindness. On the anniversary of the diner incident, the Slaughters reunited with the retired Army doctor — now a close family friend — over pancakes. As they laughed, Dr. Slaughter whispered, “Your note didn’t just change our day. It changed our lives.” 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$这是九江市2024至2025学年度下学期期末考试高一英语科听力部分,该部分分为第一第二两节。注意回答听力部分时,请先将答案标在试卷上。听力部分结束前,你将有两分钟的时间将你的答案转涂到答题卡上。现在是听力试音时间。Hello, international friends club, can I help you?
