Presentation (10 minutes) Use number cards to present the numbers from zero to nine. Teach the pronunciation one by one, for example, hold up the card with “one” and say “one /wʌn/”. Let students repeat after the teacher several times. Then, play a quick number - calling game: the teacher calls out a number, and students should quickly show the corresponding number card. Use PPT to show ID cards with different people's information. Point to the name part and introduce “first name” and “last name”. For example, for the name “Emma Watson”, say “Emma is her first name, and Watson is her last name. In English - speaking countries, the first name comes before the last name, which is different from our Chinese names.” Write the sentence patterns on the blackboard: “What's your telephone/phone number? It's...”, “What's his/her telephone/phone number? His/Her number is...”. Explain their usage and make some examples: Teacher: What's your phone number, Tom? Student: It's 13800138000. 3. Practice (12 minutes) 1a Activity Let students look at the numbers in 1a. Ask them to listen and circle the numbers they hear. Play the recording once. Then check the answers together. This activity can help students familiarize themselves with the pronunciation of numbers. Pair - work (1c) Model the conversation with a student: Teacher: Hi! My name is Lily. What's your name? Student: My name is Jack. Teacher: Nice to meet you, Jack. What's your phone number? Student: It's 567 - 8901. Then let students work in pairs. They should introduce themselves, ask for each other's names and phone numbers using the sentence patterns they have just learned. Walk around the classroom to monitor their conversations and offer help if necessary. After a few minutes, invite some pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class. 4. Listening (10 minutes) 1b Activity Tell students they will listen to a conversation between two people asking for and giving phone numbers. First, let them look at the names and numbers in 1b. Explain that they need to listen and match the names with the phone numbers. Play the recording for the first time. Students listen and match. Then check the answers briefly. Play the recording a second time. Students can check and correct their answers if there are any mistakes. This listening practice can train students' ability to listen for specific information. 5. Role - play (8 minutes) 1d Activity Let students read the dialogue in 1d silently first. Then explain any new words or difficult points in the dialogue, such as “friend”. Divide students into groups of three. One student acts as A, one acts as B, and the other acts as C. They should practice the dialogue, paying attention to the pronunciation, intonation and expression. Walk around the classroom to offer guidance. After a few minutes of practice, invite some groups to come to the front of the class and perform the dialogue. This role - play activity can improve students' speaking skills and their understanding of the dialogue. 6.
