AI and Our Lives
Artificial Intelligence (AI) (人工智能) is changing the way we live and work. Many people use AI in their daily lives. For example, smart speakers (智能音箱) like Alexa or Google Home can answer questions and play music. These devices (设备) use AI to understand and respond to (回应) voice commands (语音指令).
AI is also helpful in education. Some apps use AI to help students learn. They can provide personalized (个性化的) lessons based on (基于) a student’s progress. For example, an AI-powered app might give more difficult math problems to a student who is doing well or offer extra practice to someone who needs help.
In healthcare, AI can help doctors in diagnosing (诊断) diseases. By studying medical images (图像), AI systems can find patterns that humans might miss. This helps make faster and more correct diagnoses. However, AI cannot replace (取代) doctors. It is just a tool to support them.
Many people worry about AI taking away jobs. While it’s true that some jobs may be automated (自动化的) in the future, AI can also create new chances. For example, developing and maintaining (维护) AI systems (系统) requires skilled workers, so new jobs in technology will appear.

Zhang Fuhai, 70, is a follower of sugar painting in Tianjin. The sweet business was encouraged by his father, who was also a sugar painter.
“When I was a little boy, the children in the neighbourhood would ask my father for sugar paintings,” he said. At 9, he began to copy the flowers and insects his father painted, and would even try to create sugar paintings himself. “I thought it was fun, but I never expected to become a sugar painter myself.”
In 1966, he finished middle school and became a part-time tailor (裁缝), dealing with all kinds of drawings. He didn’t make up his mind to join the family business until 1980. In the following years, he would spend days observing small insects in the fields to learn what they looked like. Years of experience as a tailor helped improve his painting skills.
His paintings are very creative. So far, he has created close to 200 sugar painting styles. If his customers ask him for something he doesn’t know, he will search on the Internet and try to make it.
For now, he is a little worried about passing on the art.

Is AI safe? Some experts say we need to be careful. They worry about AI being used for harmful purposes, like creating deepfakes (深度伪造品). But others believe that with proper rules and controls, AI can be a force (力量) for good.

Zhang Fuhai, 70, is a follower of sugar painting in Tianjin. The sweet business was encouraged by his father, who was also a sugar painter.
“When I was a little boy, the children in the neighbourhood would ask my father for sugar paintings,” he said.
