66.小作文范文:
Dear Alex,
I’m writing to share a meaningful event themed “Scientific Weight Management” held in our school last week.
We started with a lecture by a nutritionist, who explained how to balance calories and choose healthy food. Then, PE teachers taught us simple aerobic exercises. Finally, we tried making nutritious meals. Everyone enjoyed these activities.
Now, more students are interested in a healthy lifestyle. Some even have started jogging every morning! Do you have similar events in your school?
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
67.大作文范文:
A week later, a birthday party was thrown for Grandpa. When the doorbell rang unexpectedly, Michael opened the door to find Joseph standing there, wearing a new red hat and holding a small gift. “Happy birthday, David,” Joseph said warmly, his eyes sparkling — a stark contrast to his grumpy demeanor before. Grandpa embraced him joyfully, introducing Joseph as his special guest. As Joseph joined the celebration, he shared stories with other guests, his laughter filling the room. Michael watched in awe, realizing how Grandpa’s simple act of kindness had melted Joseph’s loneliness, turning a stranger into a friend.
After the party, Michael and two men in red hats began their daily walk. Grandpa and Joseph waved cheerfully at passing cars, while Michael, now wearing a small red hat of his own, eagerly joined in. Drivers honked and waved back, recognizing the trio with bright smiles. When they met a frowning neighbor, Joseph stopped and offered a friendly greeting. To Michael’s surprise, the neighbor paused, then tentatively waved back. As they continued, Michael whispered to Grandpa, “Kindness is like a red hat — everyone notices it.” Grandpa chuckled, patting his shoulder, “And now, you’re passing it on.”

Last week, I visited my local bank to put a cheque into my account. While the procedure itself was relatively simple and user-friendly, I chose to double-check the details with the teller (出纳员) to ensure accuracy. The teller, apparently new to role, was unsure about the steps. He called his manager for assistance. The manager patiently explained everything to me, and I really appreciated what he did.
However, as the manager explained the steps, I couldn’t help but notice the teller’s lack of engagement. Instead of absorbing the guidance, he occupied himself with something else. What struck me most was the manager’s passive response to this behavior. Rather than encouraging the teller to focus on his instruction attentively, he simply completed the task himself and returned to his office.
On my way home, reflecting on the situation, I realized that the manager failed to use a preventive method. This might lead to the teller’s asking for help again in the future, causing the manager to repeatedly leave his desk to manage the same issues. This would definitely interrupt the manager’s routine work and waste his precious time, which could otherwise be better spent on his core duties. Obviously, if the root cause of the problem is not solved, such situation will happen more than once again, and it will potentially affect customer satisfaction.
This experience reveals a fundamental truth: It is a must to enable people to handle tasks independent of external assistance. We shouldn’t emphasize the significance of having a clear vision too much. It involves predicting future needs and making the right moves to solve them. Thus, we should begin with the end in mind, planning for long-term success. After all, sustainable success begins not with fixing today’s issues, but with preventing tomorrow’s.
24.Why did the teller turn to the manager for help?
A. He was busy with other affairs.
B. The procedure was too complex.
C. He had uncertainty as a new employee.
D. The matter was not in the charge of him.
25.What kind of help did the manager offer to the teller?
A. Absolute replacement.
B. Passive response.
C. Professional guidance.
D. Sincere encouragement.
26.What key strategy does the author recommend to solve such issues?
A. Making a further plan about regulation.
B. Emphasizing the importance of prevention.
C. Having a clear vision of personal development.
D. Cultivating independence through empowerment.
27.Which of the following proverbs best matches the main idea of the text?
A. Many hands make light work.
B. Nothing is difficult to the man who will try.
C. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
D. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
C
According to Dr. John Swaddle, a professor at the Institute for Integrative Conservation at William & Mary, hundreds of millions of birds die every year from window collisions(碰撞).
However, if you put decals(贴花纸) or colorful stickers outside of your windows, the birds are more likely to see the barrier and therefore avoid it. Remember: never inside your window; always outside of your window.
“Double-glazed(双层的) windows reflect a lot of light, especially when you view them from a slight angle, as a flying bird would do,” Swaddle told Salon. He is the corresponding author of a recent study which tries to figure out how this basic reality of physics impacts on a bird’s experience as it flies near a standard window. For their experiment, researchers had birds perform repeated and controlled flight trials near windows with film(薄膜) products, BirdShades film and Haverkamp film, respectively.
“In our collision avoidance trials, BirdShades increased window avoidance by 47% and the Haverkamp increased avoidance by 39%. But neither product was effective when the films were applied to the internal surface of windows,” the authors concluded.
When breaking down the problem of avoiding window collisions from a bird’s point of view, Swaddle explained, “The light and reflected imagery from the external surface of the glass is sufficient to obscure a film or decal that is stuck to the inner surface from being seen clearly.”
If you want to protect birds from easily avoidable deaths without buying window film products, there are other solutions. Swaddle recommended “pleasing fritted glass that could be used in new construction and which is also bird-friendly”. Besides, he notes that screens can be helpful as well, not only by limiting reflectiveness but by providing birds with a cushion if they make impact. It is also possible to use everyday household objects to signal to birds that there are barriers — netting, bits of string, colorful stickers, and paint. These can all be used to this effect.
28.Which of the following can work to reduce bird window collisions?
A. Choosing double-glazed windows.
B. Avoiding opening windows at night.
C. Covering the inner windows with decals.
D. Sticking decals to the outer side of windows.
29.What did the researchers want to find in the experiment?
A. The bird-friendly film products and glass.
B. The efficient measures of collision avoidance.
C. The bird behaviors when hitting the bright window.
D. The link between light reflection and bird window collisions.
30.What does the underlined word “obscure” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Protect.
B. Use.
C. Shade.
D. Find.
31.What is mainly talked about in the last paragraph?
A. Solutions to reducing the window cost.
B. Other ways to avoid bird collisions.
C. Bird-friendly objects to attract birds.
D. Environmentally friendly glass products.

Being kind has kind of gotten a bad fame recently. Maybe you’ve heard that if you are kind, people will take advantage of you or take you for granted. Or that no good deed goes unpunished. Yes, many people seem to somehow equal kindness to weakness or deficiency. But that’s missing the point. 36 .
Why do others not respect you and even try to take advantage of you? Usually, it’s more about them than you. Maybe they are fearful. Fear can do a number on people. 37 . The “self-protection” forces them to prevent anyone from doing, basically, anything.
Then they may have low self-esteem. Deep down, many people don’t believe that they actually deserve kindness. 38 . Or they might have unresolved pain. When people are in pain, they may feel the need to blow up at others. And it may be casier to attack someone who is kind than someone who is mean.
39 . Some people are genuine 100% all-natural, bad people. They can subscribe to the “it’s all about me, all the time” philosophy that ranks kindness somewhere below belly button lint in their list of things to be respected.
All these are actually reasons why exhibiting genuine kindness is a sign of strength. It means you are able to overcome any type of fear, inferiority (自卑), or internal pain that you may have. 40 . And you know you have the strength to overcome such thing. Helping others is not as easy but, frankly, is a lot more fulfilling. So, why not be more kind, genuinely kind?
A.The fact is the opposite
B.Actually, to be truly kind takes strength and power
C.Another case is that they are actually self-centered guys
D.It means you are willing to risk being taken advantage of
E.It means you are driven by an internal compass but not an external one

G.If you are acting kind to them, they may think there must be something wrong with you

Grandpa David’s birthday was a week away. Michael and his parents were busy planning a big party for him when Grandpa invited him for a walk. Thinking of Grandpa’s joy of waving at passers-by, Michael eagerly agreed. “I’m ready, Grandpa!” Michael replied, watching Grandpa put on his beloved red hat before they went out.
As they walked, Grandpa cheerfully waved at the cars that drove by. A young boy leaned out of the window and shouted, “There’s the man in the red hat!” Grandpa waved to him and the people in the next three cars, all of whom joyfully waved back. Although Michael didn’t understand why Grandpa was doing so, he thought it interesting.
As they turned a corner, an old man with a brown hat was walking towards them. “Hi, Joseph, it’s good to see you,” Grandpa greeted him warmly. “I hate going out in winter!” Joseph complained, pulling his scarf up over his mouth and nose as he walked by. “He’s bad-tempered (脾气坏的)!” Michael said in a low voice. But Grandpa whispered to him that Joseph was just lonely, for he lived by himself, and suggested they might be able to help.
Suddenly, a rush of wind blew off Joseph’s brown hat, sending it towards the pond before the hat disappeared from sight. Joseph was very upset, shaking in the cold. Without hesitation, Grandpa lent a helping hand. “You can take mine if you don’t mind,” he said, handing his red hat over to Joseph.
“Thanks,” Joseph said, putting on the red hat and continuing on his way. A car passed, and the people inside waved at Joseph, recognizing him as “the man in the red hat”. Another car passed and honked (鸣喇叭). At first confused, Joseph soon caught on, happily waving back at the third car that greeted him.
Observing this heartwarming exchange, Grandpa and Michael couldn’t help but smile, realizing Grandpa’s simple action worked wonders.
A week later, a birthday party was thrown for Grandpa.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Last week, I visited my local bank to put a cheque into my account. While the procedure
itself was relatively simple and user-friendly, I chose to double-check the details with the teller (出
纳员) to ensure accuracy. The teller, apparently new to role, was unsure about the steps. He called
his manager for assistance. The manager patiently explained everything to me, and I really
appreciated what he did.
However, as the manager explained the steps, I couldn’t help but notice the teller’s lack of
engagement. Instead of absorbing the guidance, he occupied himself with something else. What
struck me most was the manager’s passive response to this behavior. Rather than encouraging the
teller to focus on his instruction attentively, he simply completed the task himself and returned to
his office.
On my way home, reflecting on the situation, I realized that the manager failed to use a
preventive method. This might lead to the teller’s asking for help again in the future, causing the
manager to repeatedly leave his desk to manage the same issues. This would definitely interrupt
高一英语 第 4 页,共 9 页
the manager’s routine work and waste his precious time, which could otherwise be better spent on
his core duties. Obviously, if the root cause of the problem is not solved, such situation will
happen more than once again, and it will potentially affect customer satisfaction.
This experience reveals a fundamental truth: It is a must to enable people to handle tasks
independent of external assistance. We shouldn’t emphasize the significance of having a clear
vision too much. It involves predicting future needs and making the right moves to solve them.
Thus, we should begin with the end in mind, planning for long-term success. After all, sustainable
success begins not with fixing today’s issues, but with preventing tomorrow’s.

According to Dr. John Swaddle, a professor at the Institute for Integrative Conservation at
William & Mary, hundreds of millions of birds die every year from window collisions(碰撞).
However, if you put decals(贴花纸) or colorful stickers outside of your windows, the birds
are more likely to see the barrier and therefore avoid it. Remember: never inside your window;
always outside of your window.
“Double-glazed(双层的) windows reflect a lot of light, especially when you view them from
a slight angle, as a flying bird would do,” Swaddle told Salon. He is the corresponding author of a
recent study which tries to figure out how this basic reality of physics impacts on a bird’s
experience as it flies near a standard window. For their experiment, researchers had birds perform
repeated and controlled flight trials near windows with film(薄膜) products, BirdShades film and
Haverkamp film, respectively.
“In our collision avoidance trials, BirdShades increased window avoidance by 47% and the
Haverkamp increased avoidance by 39%. But neither product was effective when the films were
applied to the internal surface of windows,” the authors concluded.
When breaking down the problem of avoiding window collisions from a bird’s point of view,
Swaddle explained, “The light and reflected imagery from the external surface of the glass is
sufficient to obscure a film or decal that is stuck to the inner surface from being seen clearly.”
高一英语 第 5 页,共 9 页
If you want to protect birds from easily avoidable deaths without buying window film
products, there are other solutions. Swaddle recommended “pleasing fritted glass that could be
used in new construction and which is also bird-friendly”. Besides, he notes that screens can be
helpful as well, not only by limiting reflectiveness but by providing birds with a cushion if they
make impact. It is also possible to use everyday household objects to signal to birds that there are
barriers — netting, bits of string, colorful stickers, and paint.

When Zhou Longshan started filming birds 10 years ago at Baiyangdian Lake,a major
wetland in northern China,he just wanted to record his favorite species-egrets.Then,things
snowballed. In the following years, the teacher became a bird-watcher,a volunteer ranger at the
lake,a photographer documenting over 110 bird species and an educator popularizing bird-
related information among students."Sharing bird-protection knowledge with children can make
them feel the beauty of their hometown and the importance of birds, and help them cultivate the
habit of protecting birds from an early age,he says.
Over time,Zhou's interest in birds continued to grow.In 2021,he was appointed as a bird
observer by the natural resources bureau(自然资源局)of Anxin county, responsible for

Zhou would ride a bike to Baiyangdian almost every day before dawn, whatever the weather. He
would record the birds appearing at the lake, along with their locations, where they fed and
when they migrated, thus providing reference data for staff members of the natural resources
bureau of Anxin county.
Although Zhou takes delight in the role, there are still many challenges.Sometimes,he has
to navigate earth embankments on his bike. One summer day in 2021,he fell into a ditch with
water more than a meter deep, resulting in water damage to his cellphone.

he is sometimes invited to local schools to give lectures, keeping students informed about birds
and how to protect them.Zhou will retire next month."I will continue patrolling the lake and
photographing the birds to contribute to the protection of birds in my hometown,"he says.
32.Why did Zhou start taking photos of birds at first?
A. To share bird-protection knowledge with children.

Being kind has kind of gotten a bad fame recently. Maybe you’ve heard that if you are kind,
people will take advantage of you or take you for granted. Or that no good deed goes unpunished.
Yes, many people seem to somehow equal kindness to weakness or deficiency. But that’s missing
the point. 36 .
Why do others not respect you and even try to take advantage of you? Usually, it’s more
about them than you. Maybe they are fearful. Fear can do a number on people. 37 . The “self-
protection” forces them to prevent anyone from doing, basically, anything.
Then they may have low self-esteem. Deep down, many people don’t believe that they
actually deserve kindness. 38 . Or they might have unresolved pain. When people are in pain,
they may feel the need to blow up at others. And it may be casier to attack someone who is kind
than someone who is mean.
39 . Some people are genuine 100% all-natural, bad people. They can subscribe to the
“it’s all about me, all the time” philosophy that ranks kindness somewhere below belly button lint
in their list of things to be respected.
All these are actually reasons why exhibiting genuine kindness is a sign of strength. It means
you are able to overcome any type of fear, inferiority (自卑), or internal pain that you may
have. 40 . And you know you have the strength to overcome such thing. Helping others is not
as easy but, frankly, is a lot more fulfilling. So, why not be more kind, genuinely kind?

Grandpa David’s birthday was a week away. Michael and his parents were busy planning a
big party for him when Grandpa invited him for a walk. Thinking of Grandpa’s joy of waving at
passers-by, Michael eagerly agreed. “I’m ready, Grandpa!” Michael replied, watching Grandpa put
on his beloved red hat before they went out.
As they walked, Grandpa cheerfully waved at the cars that drove by. A young boy leaned out
of the window and shouted, “There’s the man in the red hat!” Grandpa waved to him and the
people in the next three cars, all of whom joyfully waved back. Although Michael didn’t
understand why Grandpa was doing so, he thought it interesting.
As they turned a corner, an old man with a brown hat was walking towards them. “Hi, Joseph,
it’s good to see you,” Grandpa greeted him warmly. “I hate going out in winter!” Joseph
complained, pulling his scarf up over his mouth and nose as he walked by. “He’s bad-tempered
(脾气坏的)!” Michael said in a low voice. But Grandpa whispered to him that Joseph was just
lonely, for he lived by himself, and suggested they might be able to help.
Suddenly, a rush of wind blew off Joseph’s brown hat, sending it towards the pond before the
hat disappeared from sight. Joseph was very upset, shaking in the cold. Without hesitation,
Grandpa lent a helping hand. “You can take mine if you don’t mind,” he said, handing his red hat

over to Joseph.
“Thanks,” Joseph said, putting on the red hat and continuing on his way. A car passed, and
the people inside waved at Joseph, recognizing him as “the man in the red hat”. Another car
passed and honked (鸣喇叭). At first confused, Joseph soon caught on, happily waving back at the
third car that greeted him.
Observing this heartwarming exchange, Grandpa and Michael couldn’t help but smile,
realizing Grandpa’s simple action worked wonders.
A week later, a birthday party was thrown for Grandpa.______________________________

Part1.听力试音文稿
Nature that glows
Early in the morning in June 2024, photographer Lee McGrath captured electric blue shimmering in the waves of Dunraven Bay, Wales. Lighting up the water was bioluminescent plankton.
Bioluminescence is the ability of certain organisms to produce light. It’s a biochemical wonder involving a reaction between certain chemicals that create light without heat. Plankton, as seen in Wales, are tiny marine drifters, carried by ocean tides and currents. And they’re not the only creatures in the ocean with this illuminating characteristic—an amazing 76% of animals in our seas are bioluminescent, according to National Geographic. It happens for a variety of reasons. For example, the deep-sea anglerfish has a glowing fin that sticks out of its head to attract prey, and jellyfish can emit light to attract mates. Similarly, the six-inch lantern shark, one of the world’s smallest sharks, has light-up organs used for camouflage.
But it’s not just ocean life that can glow in the dark. On land, fireflies dance with glowing abdomens as part of courtship rituals, while some fungi, such as the honey mushroom, contribute an eerie glow in forests, and are known as ‘ghost mushrooms’ in some cultures. In New Zealand, there is a freshwater snail which emits a glowing slime, and glow-worm caves attract hundreds of thousands of tourists a year.
Scientists are discovering more and more glowing nature each year, says Linda Reinhold, an Australian scientist, but there’s still a lot we don’t know. She says it’s easiest to see bioluminescent nature on land by using a UV torch, so next time you head out at night, pack one! You never know what you’ll find.

1.
M: Hey, Julie, are you a fan of hip hop? I have a spare ticket to a concert tonight.
W: I’m afraid I’m not. I prefer classical music. My sister might like it, though. She’s just back from the countryside. You should call her.
2.
W: Summer vacation is coming. Where do you plan to go this year?
M: I’d like to go somewhere I’ve never been before, like Paris.
W: I prefer New York for the fashion. Or Milan, where the art is also great.
3.
W: Oh no, I forgot to turn the alarm clock on. I’m afraid I’ll be late for school.
M: Don’t worry, Lily, I can give you a lift.
W: It’s so kind of you.
4.
M: Please go away from the tall buildings as soon as possible.
W: Why? The shaking has stopped. It’s over.
M: Because the following small earthquakes can come soon. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
5.
W: I didn’t expect to see you here today. So how was the birthday party?
M: Not bad. The restaurant was first class and the food couldn’t be better, but the weather was not as expected. We had to stay inside most of the time.
6~7.
W: There’s no parking space here. Let’s drive on and check out somewhere else.
M: Didn’t you know that this hotel has no parking space at all?
W: When I called the hotel yesterday, I was told that they have some street parking spaces nearby, but today is Saturday.
M: How about parking our car in the parking lot near the theatre two miles away? Then we can take a taxi back here.
Okay.
8~10.
M: Kathy, I hear a new movie named Ne Zha 2 is on these days. Would you like to go with me Friday nights?
W: I'd love to Peter, but we need to work on the science project Friday night. Don’t you remember?
M: All right, what about tomorrow?
W: My cousin Susan invited me to her birthday party tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be free on Sunday. Shall we go on Sunday evening? Maybe.
M: Okay, let’s meet at seven o’clock in front of the cinema.
11~13.
M: Hi, Catherine. It’s an honor to have you here with us today.
W: Thank you so much. It’s a pleasure to be here.
M: Catherine, as a famous actress, what advice would you give to young people looking for acting opportunities?
W: Just keep working and practicing. You have to push yourself and be eager for the work.
M: You’ve been an actress for 50 years, so how did you get into acting?
W: My older brother, Stephen Smith, was an actor and I admired him. And I was a big fan of Judy Black.
M: Did your brother teach you how to act?
W: No, I had a wonderful acting coach named Helen Miller. She taught me everything about acting.
M: Well, thanks for joining our audience today.
W: My pleasure. Thank you for having me.
14~17.
M: Nancy, can I have a word with you about your last article?
W: Of course, Mr green. Is there something wrong with it?
M: Well, I notice that your article seems a bit too perfect. Did you use AI to write it?
W: Uh, yes I did. I thought its ideas sound really good.
M: I see it is well structured, but somehow it doesn't quite feel like you.
W: I guess I relied too much on what the AI gave me.
M: That's the issue. AI can be helpful, but the purpose of writing an article is to form your own ideas. For instance, your earlier pieces included original examples from your experiences, which were quite impressive.
W: I see your point, but isn't it okay to use AI as a tool? I mean, it's everywhere now.
M: It's fine to use it for information gathering or brainstorming, but don't forget to stand up for yourself as a writer. Your voice and opinions are valuable.
W: Thank you, Mister Green. I really appreciate your feedback.
18~20.
M: Welcome to the South Africa wildlife experience programme. First, I’ll tell you about the working hours. The morning part runs from around 10 am to 1:00 p.m.. A lunch break then follows, with the afternoon part usually running from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. In the evenings, there are animal shows and cross cultural dance shows, or volunteers can relax in the swimming pool, in the tennis club or in the reading room. But I only like reading.
Now, I’d like to tell you some of the things you can expect to do during the week. You’ll record animals and count animals. You’ll go to educational lectures and classroom activities. You plant trees. You’ll help little animal babies that have no parents. You’ll feed and take care of elephants. Most volunteers like spending time with the elephants. Each volunteer will play a big part. Not only will you be playing a key role in saving the valuable wild animals for today’s people, but also you’ll protect them for the future generations.
Thanks for joining us.
