From Anger to Courage: A Teen's Growth
Teenager Jake had a big argument with his parents. He felt anger and tension at home. To escape, he took a bus downtown.
Jake wanted an adventure. He passed a bank and saw a scene—a battle between police and robbers! It was an emergency operation. Jake felt anxious but eager to help. He gathered courage and told an officer what he saw.
The robbers had tried to target the bank’s account system. A teller said they also stole rent money. Jake helped figure out details.
Later, Jake visited a grocery store to calm down. He thought about his mental health. An expert there said stress was normal, but Jake needed flexible ways to cope.
At home, Jake shared his view. His parents listened with concern. They agreed to reduce stress. Jake’s desire to volunteer grew.
His performance in school improved. He no longer felt passive. Instead, he struggled less and talked more. A teacher said he was likely to graduate with good grades.
Jake’s unique action helped him avoid a breakdown. He now felt secure and happier.

Seeing Eye to Eye
Tom and his father rarely saw eye to eye on homework. His father was always on his back about finishing it early, which put stress on Tom. One evening, after Tom’s grades shot up, his father urged him to think it through before relaxing. "From my point of view," his father said, "you should study more."
Tom, under a lot of stress, argued, but his father refused to back down. Finally, Tom’s mom took on the role of mediator(调停者). She asked them to put themselves in each other’s shoes and meet in the middle. It turned out that Tom worked at a different rate, and constant pressure had a bad influence on him.
After calming down, they reached a strange middle ground: Tom would take a passive role in setting deadlines, while his father would cheer up and trust him more. This compromise resulted in less tension, proving there was no point in forcing opinions. Together, they drew happiness out of understanding.

简单句
英语简单句(Simple Sentence)是只包含一个主谓结构(一个主语和一个谓语动词)的句子,表达一个完整的意思。它可以包含宾语、定语、状语等成分,但只有一个核心的谓语动词(或并列谓语)。
注意“两个或两个以上的主语”+“两个或两个以上的谓语”的句子,依然是简单句。

1) 名词性从句(Noun Clause)

简单句:只有一个主谓结构。

The Argument
