表语从句:在主从复合句中表语的从句称为表语从句。

主语+系动词+表语从句,这里的that引导表语从句。
引导词 用法
从属连词 that 无成分,无意义
whether 无成分,意为“是否”
连接代词 what,which,who,whom, …+ever, whose 在从句中充当主语,宾语,表语,定语
连接副词 how, when, where, …+ ever, why 在从句中充当状语
其它连接词 because, as if ,as though 因为,好像,似乎

Rule 3 : 表语从句的虚拟语气
My proposal is that we (should) start early tomorrow.
I propose that we (should) start early tomorrow.
It is proposed that we (should) start early tomorrow.
在表示“建议,劝说,命令”的名词 idea, advice, suggestion, request, proposal 等后面的表语从句中,谓语动词用“should + 动词原形”,should可省略。

Rule 3 : as if/as though 引导的表语从句常跟在look, seem, sound, feel等后面。
语气: 若表示真实情况:用陈述语气
若表示非真实情况:用虚拟语气
Dark clouds are gathering. It looks as if it’s going to rain.

Regarded as my shining example who was brilliant, ambitious, fearless, and put others at first, Li Shizhen was an extrmely well-respected man both in China and abroad.
Born on July 3 in 1518 in Hubei, Li was immersed in medicine from childhood with him edified by his family. Facing the severe medical conditions in the country, Li was convinced that he can transform it for better. Li read multiple books and went to a lot of places to find herbs, even testing the medicines himself, just like the legendary Shen Nong. Although there were substantial barriers of technology and knowledge, Li took 27 years to complete the great masterpiece-Compendium of Materia medica through his tireless efforts.
Li Shizhen, who died in 1593, is famous for his great contributions to the world medicine. It is Li Shizhen who made the traditonal Chinese medicine better than before.
