Well, the future may be closer than you think. Let’s take a look at some modes of transport that we could be using in the future. Flying taxi Slovakian engineering company AeroMobil has designed the world’s first 4-seater flying taxi. AeroMobil’s AM Next is a hybrid - half supercar, half lightweight aircraft. It’s able to transform between the two modes of transport in fewer than 3 minutes as its wings move into the appropriate positions. It is expected to be released in 2028 and will be able to fly a distance of up to 500 miles (about 800 kilometers) between major cities. Gyroscopic transport Gyroscopic (陀螺的) transport is a revolutionary new mode of transport that is being planned. It is the use of large pods supported by flexible legs that transport passengers over existing roads. These legs can adjust their length according to traffic demands and to allow passengers to board. The whole structure is balanced on gyroscopes, which allows the main pod to maintain its orientation while moving. One of the best elements of this mode of transport is that it can operate over existing infrastructure. Dahir Insaat, a company looking to find the future of transportation, has already built a model system that could one day be used in cities, according to The Times of India. Hyperloop Hyperloop (超级高铁) has created a lot of excitement recently and received backing from many influential people in the tech world. Elon Musk, CEO of Space X, is one of the main proponents (支持者) of the hyperloop. He has suggested it could ease traffic in Los Angeles, US. The hyperloop is an ultra-high-speed public transportation system in which passengers travel in autonomous electric pods at about 965 kilometers per hour, according to the website of Musk’s tunnel excavation (挖掘) firm, Boring Company. Using pressurized (密封) underground tunnels, people, goods and even vehicles can travel quickly. “You just drive on, and the pod departs,” Musk told Bloomberg Businessweek. Virgin Hyperloop, a US transport technology company, conducted its first human trials of a hyperloop system in November 2020. The hyperloop system managed to reach speeds of up to 172km/h, according to The Guardian. The hyperloop is set to be introduced in various cities all across the world in the near future. 1.What do we know about AeroMobil’s AM Next? A.It will be the world’s first flying car. Many people will ask themselves that question for the first time this year. Prices are falling, battery range is rising and mainstream brands are adding new EVs at a breakneck pace. Here are three things anybody seriously considering buying an EV should know: 1. The price to install (安装) a 240v charger Anybody who owns an electric vehicle needs a 240-volt charger at home. With one, you can recharge overnight, so you start every day with the equal amount of a full tank. Just a few years ago, home 240v EV chargers cost $2,500-$3,000, including installation, but prices have declined as competition grows with the number of EVs on the road. 2. The time it takes to charge About 80% of miles driven in EVs are powered by electricity charged at home, but you’ll need to charge elsewhere occasionally. That’s when charging time becomes a big deal, but how long it takes depends on a couple of factors. First, voltage (电压) from the charger. Getting 250 miles of range in seven hours from a 240v charger is fine when you re charging overnight at home, but it’s a problem if you’re going 300 miles for a weekend trip. In that case, you’ll want to look for a 400v fast charger. They’re not as common as 240v public chargers yet, but they’re becoming more widespread. There’s another factor: the on-board charger. It regulates how fast the battery can accept electricity. A vehicle with a higher-capacity on-board charger accepts electricity faster. 3. Where to charge Good route-planning apps will help you find chargers on a road trip easily. “Most people have no idea how many public charging stations are within, say, a 10-or 15-mile radius (半径) because they’re small, people don’t look for them or even don’t know what to look for, and they’re rarely signposted,” said journalist John Voelcker, who has studied EVs and charging exhaustively. 4. On the horizon If an EV doesn’t meet your needs now, watch this space. They’re coming closer. but large numbers of gasoline vehicles will remain in production for years. Beyond that, companies will keep making spare parts for oil-burners for decades. 1.What is the primary benefit of having a 240-volt charger at home for EV owners? A.It allows for faster travel. B.It enables overnight recharging. C.It reduces the cost of electricity. D.It increases the battery capacity. 2.What is a significant factor affecting how long it takes to charge an EV? A.The speed of the vehicle. B.The weight of the vehicle. C.The type of battery used. D.The voltage from the charger. 3.According to the article, how do most people feel about public charging stations? A.They find them easy to locate. B.They are well aware of their locations. C.They often underestimate their availability. D.They prefer to use home chargers completely. 4.What does the article suggest about the future of gasoline vehicles? A.They will be completely disappear in a few years. B.They will continue to be produced for years. C.They will become more expensive than EVs. D.They will have better technology than EVs. 5.This passage is mainly intended to . A.offer advice on purchasing an electric vehicle. B.illustrate the factors charging time depends on. C.look forward to the future of electric vehicles. D.explain the reason for the falling prices of electric vehicles. 【答案】1.B 2.D 3.C 4.B 5.A 【导语】这篇一篇应用文,主要提供了有关电动车(EV)选择方面的建议与考虑因素。 1.细节理解题。根据文章第三段“With one, you can recharge overnight, so you start every day with the equal amount of a full tank. B.It could be in use in just 2 years’ time. C.It can fly a maximum of 800 miles each trip. D.It can switch between modes within 3 minutes. 2.What is an advantage of gyroscopic transport? A.It can travel either above or below ground. B.It can travel independent of traffic flow on the roads. C.It’s quicker and cheaper to build than other vehicles. D.It can hold more passengers than other forms of transport. 3.What is Elon Musk’s attitude toward the hyperloop? A.Doubtful. B.Worried. C.Critical. D.Positive. 4.According to the passage, which company has conducted the first human trials of a hyperloop system? A.Boring Company. B.Virgin Hyperloop. C.Space X. D.Dahir Insaat. 5.What potential advantage of the hyperloop compared to traditional modes of transportation can be inferred from the passage? A.Faster travel speeds. B.Longer travel distances. C.Reduced energy consumption. D.Lower operational costs. (十一) (2025年天津市武清区杨村第一中学一模) At the middle school level, there are many academic clubs in which students can participate. (十二) (2025年天津市滨海新区塘沽第一中学一模) Is an Electric Vehicle fight for you? 1 / 13 公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
