Secondly, we should always pay attention to the weather forecast and the direction of the typhoon. When the typhoon comes, it is necessary to understand the dynamics of the typhoon in time, and personnel should be transferred to safe areas in time, avoiding places that are easy to cause casualties (dangerous and old houses, factories, sheds, temporary buildings), and do not shelter from the wind and rain in the above places.
Again, secure the doors and windows. Doors and Windows should be tied tightly, especially aluminum alloy doors and windows. Remove all hangings inside and outside the house; Close doors and windows and nail boards if necessary.

A sudden shake made Anna White awake. Rubbing her eyes, she noticed the vase on the corner table shaking. It was just going to fall from the corner, but she managed to catch it just in time. Then she realized that it must be an earthquake. She rushed downstairs to look for her parents and brother. But everyone was sleeping soundly as it was just 3 in the morning. She screamed, “MOM! DAD! CHASE!” Her heart pounded as the quake continued. She knew what was happening, but what should she do?
“CHASE ...!” she called her elder brother Chase again. Chase had got up and was on the stairs. He was very scared when he felt the stairs shaking. He was about to fall on the stairs but quickly grabbed the railing (扶手)for support. “What was that?” he asked and looked towards Anna who was sitting under a table in the dining room and he quickly joined her.
Their mother, Lisa, soon appeared in the dining room. She’d felt the shaking from her room. Realizing it was an earthquake, she quickly came under the table with them and asked Chase and Anna if they were OK. Her eyes stared nervously at the door.
“Where’s Dad?” Chase asked after a moment, his voice tense. Anna’s stomach tightened with worry. They knew their father, a doctor, was often called away for emergency cases, sometimes even at night.
Lisa hesitated, her voice trembling, “He went on an emergency call ... We just need to stay safe. Dad will be fine. Don’t worry about him.”
Tears welled in her eyes as the weight of the situation sank in. The idea of him being out there, in the middle of an earthquake, was terrifying.
Suddenly, a loud crash came from the building next door. Through the window, they saw a nearby building shaking violently, sending clouds of dust into the air.
“This is too dangerous,” Chase said, glancing around. Without another word, they grabbed each other’s hands and ran out of the building.

They managed to arrive at the street and saw a chaotic scene. People were rushing past, many with faces pale with fear, while others were helping those who had fallen or were injured. A young man was supporting an elderly man, and a woman was comforting a child who was crying. Despite the panic and chaos, there was a sense of unity-neighbors helping neighbors, strangers offering assistance. Anna noticed volunteers and rescue workers pushing through the crowd, and found comfort in these small acts of kindness - a brief glimmer of hope in the chaos.
Paragraph 2:
In the middle of the rescue workers, Anna spotted a familiar face - her father. He was helping an injured man, his medical bag open beside him. “Dad!” she shouted, running toward him. He looked up, his face covered in dust, but his expression calm and focused.“ Stay back and keep safe,” he said, gently guiding Anna and her family to safety.“ I ‘ m helping these people. We need to stay away from the worst - hit areas.” Anna ‘ s heart swelled with relief and pride as she watched the surrounding people. Mia suddenly stopped when she heard a loud scream. She quickly turned on the small, dusty path, worrying that her friend Lily was in trouble. But Lily was just standing in flowers up to her waist, which covered the meadow (草地) like a colorful blanket.
“Lily, you really scared me!” Mia said, her voice echoed across the meadow. “I’m sorry,” Lily replied, and still focused on taking pictures with her camera, not noticing the thick fog starting to cover the nearby mountains. “Not again!” Mia said, looking at the clouds coming closer. “We have to go now!” Lily was so busy taking photos of the beautiful scene that she hardly noticed the weather changing. Mia, now wearing a red scarf on her head, said, “We need to go back to our camp.” The two girls ran down the winding path, which was covered in heavy fog and hit by cold rain. The path was very slippery, so they had to be careful not to fall. “This is dangerous! We need to find shelter right away!” Lily yelled as loud as thunder sounded, showing the storm was getting worse. Mia saw a small cave in the cliff, partly hidden by plants. It wasn’t a big shelter, but it was better than being in the rain. “Lily, come here!” Mia called out, her voice almost lost in the strong wind. Lily, wet and shaking, walked unsteadily towards Mia’s voice. As she got closer, she saw the cave. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a safe place from the storm.
“You’re smart, Mia,” Lily said, her teeth chattering (打颤) from the cold, holding her backpack tightly. The backpack, which was strong and waterproof, was a gift from her father, an experienced hiker who always said it was important to have space for emergency supplies. On this difficult day, they realized how important his advice was.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】“Look in your backpack and what’s in it can help us a lot.” Mia said, sounding hopeful. Lily quickly unzipped her backpack, her cold fingers fumbling with the zipper. Inside, they found a thermal blanket, a small first-aid kit, a flashlight, and some energy bars. “Perfect!” Mia exclaimed as she wrapped the blanket around their shoulders, its silver surface reflecting the dim light of the cave. The warmth slowly seeped into their shivering bodies, easing the chill. Meanwhile, Lily turned on the flashlight, its beam cutting through the darkness and revealing the rough walls of the cave. They huddled together, sharing an energy bar, their spirits lifted by the simple comforts. Outside, the storm raged on, but inside the cave, they felt a glimmer of safety.
Thanks to the thermal blanket, the two could survive the night and wait for the storm to stop. As dawn broke, the rain lessened, and the fog began to lift. Mia peeked outside and saw the first rays of sunlight filtering through the clouds. “It’s clearing up!” she announced. Lily, now more composed, checked her camera, relieved to find it unharmed. They packed their belongings and stepped out of the cave, the fresh scent of rain-soaked earth filling the air. The meadow, though battered by the storm, still held its beauty. With renewed energy, they followed the path back to their camp, their adventure leaving them with a deeper appreciation for preparedness and friendship.

Among them were Alex, a curious and adventurous boy, and his reserved but intelligent classmate, Maya. Everyone was in high spirits, chatting and laughing as they walked along the well-marked trail.
As they hiked deeper into the mountains, the beautiful scenery around them was breathtaking. Lush green trees towered above, and colorful wildflowers dotted the path. The students stopped occasionally to take pictures, trying to capture the beauty of nature. Alex, always eager to explore, would run ahead a little, then wait impatiently for the rest of the group.
After a few hours of hiking, they reached a fork in the trail. Mr. Brown, checking the map, told the students that the left path would lead them to a magnificent waterfall, while the right one would take them back to the starting point. Most of the students voted to go left and see the waterfall. However, Maya, who had been quietly observing the weather, noticed some dark clouds gathering in the distance. She worried that a storm might be approaching and suggested they return. But her voice was drowned out by the excited chatter of her classmates, and they decided to continue on the left path.
As they got closer to the waterfall, the sound of rushing water grew louder. Just as they were about to reach their destination, large raindrops began to fall. In no time, it turned into a heavy downpour. The path, which was muddy to begin with, became slippery and dangerous. The students huddled together, not knowing what to do next. Mr. Brown tried to keep everyone calm, but the situation was getting out of control.

【答案】Alex, who was usually so feeless, now started to feel a bit scared. The heavy rain made visibility poor, and the strong wind was making the trees sway dangerously. His classmates were also looking around anxiously, their excited expressions replaced by worry. Mr. Brown was trying his best to shield the students from the rain with his coat, but it was of little use. Alex’s teeth chattered as he thought about the possible consequences of getting stuck in this storm. He regretted not listening to Maya’s advice earlier. The path was getting more and more difficult to navigate, with mud making it easy to slip and fall. Some students were on the verge of crying, and the group’s morale was at an all-time low.
Suddenly, Maya remembered something she had learned in a survival course. She quickly scanned the area around them and spotted a large overhanging rock not far away. Shouting to get everyone’s attention, she said, “Follow me! We can take shelter under that rock.” Mr. Brown immediately agreed and helped the students move towards the rock. Once they were all safely under the overhang, they were out of the direct rain. Maya then suggested they use some dry leaves and twigs they could find nearby to start a small fire to keep warm. The students, now full of hope, started collecting the materials. With a little effort, they managed to start a fire, and the warm glow gradually lifted their spirits. They waited for the storm to pass, grateful for Maya’s quick thinking and knowledge.

About three years ago, something terrible happened to me. That was the day when it took only six hours to break my body and soul. You think I am a very old man—but I am not. It took less than a single day to change my hair from black to white.
One day, my two brothers and I were coming back from the islands where we often risked going and got more fish than others. All at once, the sky was covered with dark clouds and in less than a minute we were in a terrible storm. A huge wave covered our boat and my younger brother fell into the sea. My elder brother put his mouth close to my ear and cried out “Moskoe-strom!” The moment I heard the word I became very frightened. I knew what he meant by that one word well enough.
With the wind and waves, we were going in the direction of the whirlpool. We were hopeless. Nothing could save us. I felt sick, as if I was falling from a mountain top in a dream. We went round and round, nearer and nearer to the horrible edge of the whirlpool. It may appear strange, but at that moment, when we were on the edge of the whirlpool, I felt calmer than when we were moving towards it. I began to think how amazing a thing it was to die in such a way, and how wonderful it was to see the power of nature. Suddenly, we went over the edge. I thought my life was over. But moment after moment passed, and I was still safe.

Paragraph 2: As you can see, the reason why I’m here to tell the story is that I made the right decision.

【答案】
The boat was on the inside of the huge whirlpool and we were going round in circles at great speed. I held on to the boat tightly, my heart pounding in my chest. I could see my brothers’ terrified faces. The noise of the water was deafening. Then, I was surprised to notice that the objects in the whirlpool were not all pulled to the bottom at the same rate. Lighter things seemed to stay on the surface longer. I quickly made a decision. I shouted to my brothers to tie themselves to the empty barrels on the boat. But my elder brother was too panicked to respond, and my younger brother was already nowhere to be seen in the wild water.
As you can see, the reason why I’m here to tell the story is that I made the right decision. I tied myself firmly to a barrel. The force of the whirlpool was still strong, but the barrel kept me floating. Hours passed like years. Finally, the storm began to weaken, and the whirlpool’s power decreased. I was gradually carried out of the danger zone. When I was rescued by a passing ship, I was in a state of extreme exhaustion. The experience had changed me forever, making me respect the power of nature even more.

Paragraph 1: They managed to arrive at the street and saw a scene in chaos.

2.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

1. 续写词数应为150个左右;

Unexpected Hike
It was a sunny weekend, and a group of high-school students from Class 10, led by their enthusiastic teacher Mr. Brown, set out for a hiking trip in the nearby mountains.
